Fifth suspect in 2008 armed robbery now in custody

web posted September 23, 2009
EDGEFIELD – A fifth suspect in a July 28, 2008 armed robbery in Trenton is now in custody after being arrested in Aiken County Tuesday night. Gregory Cornelius Madison, 21, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for armed robbery and transferred to Edgefield County a short time later.

Madison is still being held at this time and is suspected as being one of the six who robbed a Trenton man at a store in the early hours of the morning when he went to meet a woman who set up the meeting around 3 am.

Others already arrested, charged, and released on bond include 17-year-old Cory Devon Madison and his 18-year-old brother Torrey Madison, of both Trenton, as well as a juvenile who has not been named.

Edward Fargo McKenzie, 29, was also arrested and released on a $36,000 bond, and is currently wanted in connection to another armed robbery and two shooting incidents this summer, one that left an Edgefield man critically injured. McKenzie is still on the lam and is considered armed and dangerous.
