Sheriff's Office charge three in Trenton armed robbery
web
posted October 2, 2008
EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s
Office has made two arrests in the July armed robbery of a Trenton man
and a third suspect is being held in Aiken County on unrelated charges.
Two other suspects remained unnamed at this time and another, a
juvenile, is known but not yet charged. Arrested so far in the case are
17-year-old Cory Devon Madison and his 18-year-old brother Torrey
Madison, both of Trenton. Edward McKenzie is currently being held in
Aiken County and will be facing charges upon his release.
Sheriff’s Investigator Jimmy Smith said that Cory Madison was arrested
on August 13 and jail records show he was charged with armed
robbery
and petit larceny. He has been released on bond. His brother, Torrey
Madison was arrested earlier this week on charges of armed robbery,
conspiracy, and petit larceny and was released on Wednesday on a
$25,000 bond. McKenzie is awaiting a transfer to face charges in
Edgefield County in the near future.
A forth suspect, a juvenile, has been confirmed but no charges have
been filed for his arrest as of Wednesday, Inv. Smith said.
The two other suspects remain unidentified by law enforcement officials
at this time as the case remains under investigation.
The six are accused
in the early morning armed robbery of a Trenton man
around 3 am on July 28 after being called by a female asking him to
meet her at a local store in Trenton on Highway 121. According to
police reports, the man arrived at the location and was waiting on the
woman he was to meet when the six men approached him, forced him out of
his car, and robbed him at gunpoint.
The woman that arranged the meeting is also being investigated in the
case.
Evidence collected at the time of the most recent arrest may implicate
one or more in additional crimes, but the nature of the evidence
collected or the associated crimes was not released.
