Man get 15 years for attack of Trenton woman Edgefielddaily.com web posted October 18, 2005 EDGEFIELD – EdgefieldDaily.com reported the August 11 attack of a Hispanic woman on Hayes Drive after she walked her daughter to the school bus stop. When she returned she was attacked by Charles Dewayne Curry, 29, of Indian Hill Court in North Augusta. Mr. Curry plead guilty to the charges that stemmed from that attack Monday in General Sessions Court. Though originally charged with burglary in the first degree and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature Public Defender Lee Sturkey arranged for a plea agreement in which Mr. Curry had the charges reduced to burglary in the second degree. With the plea agreement Judge Gregory sentenced Mr. Curry to 15 years in prison, of which he must serve 85% of the sentence, or just under 13 years. Mr. Curry was also facing drug charges from a previous arrest and it is unclear if those charges are still pending.
