Sheriff’s Investigators charge another suspect in July armed robbery
web
posted October 21, 2008
EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s
Office charged 23-year-old Edward Fargo McKenzie Thursday for his
alleged participation in an armed robbery of a Trenton man in late
July. Four of the six accused in the crime have now been taken into
custody or identified and additional arrests are said to be pending.
McKenzie was booked into the Edgefield County Detention Center after
being released in Aiken County where he was being held on unrelated
charges. He is charged with armed robbery, assault and battery of a
high and aggravated nature, criminal conspiracy, and larceny. He is
currently being held on a $36,000 surety bond.
17-year-old Cory Devon Madison and his 18-year-old brother Torrey
Madison, both of Trenton have already been
charged in the armed robbery
and a fourth suspect, a juvenile, has not been charged at this time.
The six are accused in the early morning armed robbery of a Trenton man
around 3 am on July 28 after being called by a female asking him to
meet her at a local store in Trenton on Highway 121. According to
police reports, the man arrived at the location and was waiting on the
woman he was to meet when the six men approached him, forced him out of
his car, and
robbed him at gunpoint.
The woman that arranged the meeting is also being investigated in the
case.
The case remains under investigation and EdgefieldDaily.com will
continue to follow the progress of the case and any subsequent arrests.
