BETTIS ACADEMY – Councilman Willie Bright had a larceny at his laundry mat on Community Road Thursday night. At 8:05 pm Mr. Bright called the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office to report several chairs and a crock pot that were taken from the premises.

Deputy Trek Bryant responded to the call. Mr. Bright informed Deputy Bryant that an individual had asked him if he could have the items which were stacked behind the business. Mr. Bright told the man he could not have them. A short time later Mr. Bright discovered them missing.

Mr. Bright told Deputy Bryant that he went looking for the man and found him a short time later and asked him if he knew about the items being taken. The man, according to Mr. Bright began yelling and cussing before walking away. Mr. Bright returned to the business and called police.
