Sheriff's Office releases convictions from
General Sessions Court Edgefielddaily.com web posted October 25, 2005 EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office released the names of prison sentences handed down during the last sessions of General Sessions Court for the weeks of October 10 through October 20, 2005. Sheriff Dobey said, “I would like to compliment the work of my officers and investigators on their cases. I am very pleased with these convictions.” Sheriff Dobey added, “I would also like to thank all the jurors and court personnel for their services.” The following people were sentenced to prison terms in Edgefield County General Sessions Court during the weeks of October 10-20, 2005. Charles Curry, 30, of North Augusta, S.C., pled guilty to Burglary 2ND degree, received 15 years in prison. Willie S. Merriweather, 46, of Johnston, S.C., pled guilty to Burglary, received 9 years in prison. Raphel Robertson, 19, of Aiken, S.C., pled guilty to Burglary and received a 10 year sentence suspended to the service of 4 years in prison. Brandon Simpkins, 20, of Edgefield, S.C., pled guilty to Trafficking Cocaine and received 10 years in prison. Tyler Stumke, 31, of Belvedere, S.C., pled guilty to Habitual Offender Violation and Failure to stop for a police vehicle and received a 2 year sentence suspended to the service of 6 months in prison. Jones Walden, 26, of Trenton, S.C., pled guilty to Possession with intent to Distribute Marijuana and received 2 years in prison. David Strom, 28, of Edgefield, S.C., pled guilty to Peeping Tom and received 18 months in prison. Maurice Culbreath, 19, of Trenton, S.C., pled guilty to Resisting Arrest and received 5 months in prison. Dashawn Deloach, 19, of Aiken, S.C., pled guilty to Criminal Conspiracy and received 5 years in prison. Robert Hill, 44, of Charlotte, N.C., pled guilty to Assault and Battery High and Aggravated Nature and received 6 years in prison. Johnny Walker, 40, of Aiken, S.C., pled guilty to Criminal Domestic Violence High and Aggravated Nature and received 5 years in prison. Jerome Morton, 20, of Trenton, S.C., pled guilty to Simple Possession of Marijuana 2nd and received 4 months in prison. April Walker, 29, of Johnston, S.C., pled guilty to Probation Violation and received 6 months in prison. Willie Dais, 51, of North Augusta, S.C., pled guilty to Probation Violation and received 6 months in prison. Raymond Crouch, 33, of Edgefield, S.C., pled guilty to Burglary 3rd and received 5 years in prison. Bobby Dublin, 26, of Johnston, S.C., pled guilty to Resisting Arrest and received 6 months in prison. Milledge Turner, 35, of Edgefield, S.C., pled guilty to Criminal Domestic Violence 3rd and received 3 months and 10 days in prison. Also during the court week of July 6, 2004, four Hispanic males, Freddie Tamayo, Alfredo Arjona, Honorio Guerrero, Rafael Hernandez, received a 25 year sentence each for trafficking Marijuana in Edgefield County. This arrest was a result of a tractor trailer that was found to be carrying 800 Ibs of marijuana inside of furniture that was being delivered to a Hispanic store in Trenton. The estimated street value was one million dollars or more. This drug bust is believed to be the largest in Edgefield County history.
