Help! He's trying to kill me... but it's OK

MERRIWETHER – A man on the 600 block of Spring Haven Drive called 9-1-1 to report a man with a knife in his home trying to kill him. The man stated the subject entered the house with a beer in one hand and a knife in the other ordering him outside so his son, who was present, would not, “see his dad get killed.” The man called 9-1-1 and ran out the back door, leaving his son behind with the suspect.

Deputies arrived and searched the area for the suspect but he was not found. The identity of the man with the knife was known to the victim and that information was passed on to officers. At a later time the victim called the Sheriff’s Office and told the deputy he did not want to press charges on the suspect.

The location of the home is one that has been responded to by the Sheriff’s Office on many occasions for various calls.
