Photos of suspected foiled bank robber obtained

web posted December 18, 2006

EDGEFIELD – Photos of the man suspected of trying to rob the First Citizen’s Bank in Trenton Friday have been made available over the weekend. The man police are looking for is described as a black male approximately 5’ 9” tall weighing around 150 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask, a light blue pull over, dark gloves, dark pants, white tennis shoes, and a backpack over his shoulder. Authorities are also seeking to identify a possible witness captured in surveillance video.

The suspect fled on foot north on Church Street after not being able to enter the bank. The Sheriff’s Office bloodhound team tracked a scent up Church Street then south on highway 121 then east on Woodyard Road before losing the trail.

If you were in the area of the Trenton Town Square or Church Street between 3:45 pm and 4:05 pm or have any information on the suspect you are asked to call the Edgefield Sheriff’s Office at 803-637-5337 or 803-278-1625. You do not need to reveal your identity to give information.
