Felony theft of speakers reported
web posted December 19, 2005

TRENTON – A woman on the 100 block of Casalina Drive called the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Department to report a grand larceny of items from her Dodge Truck. The woman told Deputy Curtis Burton that over $2,000 worth of speakers and floor mats had been stolen from her truck as it was parked in her driveway.

Deputy Burton noted the woman suspected the father of her baby in the theft as he had been estranged from their relationship and had requested the items from the woman.

Evidence was collected at the scene and the case has been passed on to investigators for further review. The man was said to have possession of keys to the truck and no signs of breaking in was discovered on the vehicle.

The woman stated she was, “100% certain,” the estranged father was the culprit in the theft. The theft has been reported as grand theft, a felony, and the investigation continues.
