![]() Texas man resports identity theft with ties to Trenton and Aiken web posted December 30, 2006 COUNTY – A Texas man contacted the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office to report possible identity theft by someone working in Edgefield County. According to the Texas man he has been paying alleged back taxes for two years of almost $10,000 for not reporting the income associated to his Social Security number. The man also informed the Sheriff’s Office that he had problems with his identity before and a man was incarcerated in North Carolina in that case. The information obtained claimed someone working at the CMC Industrial Plant in Trenton, which closed in September of 2005, was using the Social Security number. Information also indicated someone was using the number at another factory in Aiken County. The case has been turned over to the Investigative Division of the Sheriff’s Office. For
