 Rebels improve season with 14-8 win over Swansea web posted March 27, 2008 JOHNSTON – The Strom Thurmond baseball team improved their record to 5-6 for the season with a 14-8 win over Swansea Tuesday night with pitcher Mike McCary, a Senior, on the mound. McCary pitched the entire game striking out ten batters and added to the hitting game by going two of four at the plate. Freshman Dez Davis also contributed to the win by connecting three for three times at the plate with a double and a run batted in. Freshman Avery Wilson helped fill the bases with three hits including a run batted in. Dylan Durham, a Junior, showed his abilities by connecting four out of five times at bat including a home run and four RBI’s. The Rebel team is healthier now and seems to be on the move under the direction of Head Coach Brent Wilder. ©
