Palmetto Predators Wins Runner Up Title at 10U AA World Series

web posted July 4, 2015
SPORTS The Palmetto Predators are proud to announce their Runner-Up title at the USSSA Global World Series in North Charleston June 26-28, 2015. The Predators are a 10U AA Baseball Team made up of players from North Augusta, Midland Valley and Edgefield and have only been together for 16 months. This was their first World Series venture in which their tireless efforts and months of practice and competition paid off.

On Friday they went 2-0 with wins over the Carolina Hawks and the Diamond Dogs. Saturday morning they faced the Carolina Rebels, a much more experienced team, and were defeated which left them in the 3rd Seed position for Bracket Play.  A Saturday night win against the 6th Seed Carolina Fleet set them up for Sunday contention against the 2nd Seed and undefeated Berkley Gladiators.

Tied 1-1 they went into an extra inning tie breaker and scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th and held off the Gladiators in the bottom of the 7th for the win that advanced them to the Sunday evening Championship game.

Once again they faced the 4-0 undefeated 1st Seed Carolina Rebels. The Palmetto Predators gave it their all with an undying fighting spirit until the final defeat. The perseverance, integrity and good sportsmanship instilled in this team by Head Coach Gary Johnson sent the Palmetto Predators back to the CSRA with their heads held high and proud of their accomplishment.
