  Around Region III This Week—Playoffs Week 11 By Tim Crane web posted November 4, 2009 SPORTS – The regular season has come and gone and the real season has begun. Each of the eight regions in Class AA will send their top four teams to represent them in the playoffs. There was a three way tie for second place with Batesburg-Leesville taking the tiebreaker, Newberry finishing 3rd and Mid Carolina finishing 4th. Strom Thurmond is the #1 seed of region three. Gilbert and Saluda finished fifth and sixth, respectively, and are not eligible for the playoffs.
