Holmes, former Rebel
standout and member of the 2005 State Title team, was named to the 2009
All South Atlantic Conference team for his outstanding play at Newberry
College. Holmes (only a junior) has started 20 consecutive games
at center and graded out at 90% for the season. In ten games this year, he had 55 pancake blocks and did not allow any sacks! As a sophomore in 2008, Matt was selected as second team All South Atlantic Conference. He is now eligible for All-American status.
