 Rebel wrestlers rank second in region web posted December 28, 2009 SPORTS – The Strom Thurmond Wrestling Team will begin their second half of the season next week currently ranked second in the region. Coach Barnhart will be leading the Rebel wrestlers in their next match, a region tri-match with Newberry and Mid Carolina at Mid Carolina, on January 5th “We are currently 11 and 5 on the season. We have defeated Evans, Grovetown, and Lakeside from Ga., Ware Shoals twice, Columbia, Eau Claire, Kenan, Newberry, Orangeburg Prep and Ridgeview Baptist,” Coach Barnhart said in an email. As the wrestling team continues to grow and win matches, Barnhart said things look better in the future. “We have over 30 members in grades 9 to 12, and 14 middle school age kids.
