By Tim Crane
web posted November 23, 2012

SPORTS – Strom Thurmond (12-1) finds itself in the semi finals for a second straight season and for the 3rd time since 2005. This is Thurmond’s first season back in 3A after a four year stint in 2A and although the Rebels are one of the smallest AAA schools, they are just one game away from a state title matchup.

This game tonight is why I love my players and this program; they didn’t care about the other team’s size, they didn’t care what people were talking about on the streets, they didn’t care about all the big offers those players had.  My boys came out and fought hard to the very end, we come up just short, but I couldn’t be more proud of them for not quitting,” Lee Sawyer said.
