State Organic Growing Conference to Be Held In Columbia March 2

COLUMBIA SC – The State Organic Growing
Conference will be held near Columbia, SC, on Saturday, March 2, 2013,
at the Longleaf Middle School. The conference is sponsored by the SC
Organization for Organic Living.
The agricultural education event will feature premier organic growers
from South Carolina who will discuss a variety of timely subjects
including Growing Organic Fruit and Vegetables; Grass Fed Beef
Production and Marketing; Organic Dry Farming; Mushroom Production;
Plant Propagation for Fun and Profit; Agri-Tourism, Marketing and
Branding; Gardening Without Chemicals; Ethical Soil Fertility; Heritage
Poultry Production; Adding Cut Flowers to the Mix; Insect Ecology:
Working With Dairy Goats; Community Support for Agriculture (CSA); Good
Agricultural Practices Certification; Raising Heritage Hogs and Healing
Herbs.
Greg Judy of Rucker, Missouri, a nationally acclaimed grazing expert
and author of No Risk Ranching and Comeback Farm: Rejuvenating Soils,
Pastures and Profits, will speak on the Benefits of Multi-Species
Grazing and Building Soil Life.
