Gov. Sanford to Call for Tougher DUI Laws web posted February 20, 2007 COLUMBIA – Governor Mark Sanford will hold a news conference today with members of law enforcement and the state legislature to call for the swift passage of stronger DUI laws in the General Assembly. The event will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Statehouse in the First Floor Lobby in Columbia. Tuesday afternoon, Gov. Sanford will hold another series of his popular 'Open Door After 4' meetings. As with all preceding 'Open Door After 4' sessions, individual South Carolinians will have private, five-minute meetings with the governor in his office to discuss whatever issues are on their minds. Individuals wishing to sign up for one of these meetings should call the Governor's Office at (803) 734-1999 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Meetings will not be scheduled prior to 9:00 a.m. Monday morning, so individuals are encouraged not to call to request meetings before that time.
