SC AGRIBIZ And Farm Expo To Be Held January 16-17, 2014

FLORENCE, SC – he annual  South Carolina AgriBiz and Farm Expo will be held at the Florence Civic Center in Florence, SC, January 16-17, 2014. This Expo is one of the most interesting agricultural events scheduled in South Carolina in 2014. Daily general admission is $5 per person but some seminars require advanced purchase of tickets and pre-registration.
              
“A large array of Agribusiness and Educational displays will feature the latest in Agricultural technology,” says Jody Martin, chairman of the event. “Farm equipment will be on display inside and outside the civic center,” he added.  
               
Chip Blalock, executive director of the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia, will present a seminar on “Innovations and Collaborations in Agriculture”, Thursday at 10:30 AM.      
                
A seminar for New Farmers will be conducted by the Small Farm and Food Entrepreneurs Organization is on Thursday; a special event entitled  ‘A Taste of South Carolina’ sponsored by AgSouth Farm Credit on Thursday evening featuring great ‘South Carolina Grown’ food prepared by chefs on-site; Breakfast with Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers and an Agri-Tourism Seminar on Friday are ticketed events. Friday, January 17, has been designated as Farm Bureau Day and members will be admitted free upon presentation of an active membership card.  FFA members and their advisors will be admitted free either day by showing an FFA membership card at the entrance to the civic center.
              
“Rural and urban agriculturalists from throughout the southeast are expected to attend the Expo which will spotlight twenty-first century Agricultural Science, Business and Technology,” Mr. Martin said.
