STH Agricultural Silent Auction to be Held Ag Day March 16

JOHNSTON – On Saturday, March 16, 2013,
join the local community for an amazing day of fun, food, and friends –
all to support student scholarships. The 1st Annual Strom Thurmond
Agriculture Department Silent Auction will take place from 12:00 p.m. -
4:00 p.m. at Strom Thurmond High School as part of the 1st Annual
Edgefield County Agriculture Field Day. The event is sponsored by the
Strom Thurmond Career Center FFA Association and the Edgefield County
Young Farmer Association. Admission is Free.
Auction items include donations from local businesses including the
National Wild Turkey Federation and Old Edgefield Pottery; as well as
several handcrafted items from the Horticulture II and Agricultural
Mechanization students. In addition to the silent auction there
will be a farmers market and fresh homemade barbeque.
The Agriculture Department at Strom Thurmond Career Center is a student
organization that makes a positive difference in the lives of students
by developing their potential for Premier Leadership, Personal Growth,
and Career Success.
Anyone interested in donating items for the auction may drop them off
at Strom Thurmond Career Center Agriculture Department at 17 Par Drive
Johnston during normal school hours. They are also offering free local
pick up of items if contacted before the event. Donated items
must be received by Friday March 8th. All donations are tax
deductible.
