Favor Awarded Scholarship to Presbyterian College

JOHNSTON – Akeem Favor (pictured left) has been awarded the John I. Smith and Multicultural Leadership Scholarship at Presbyterian College for a total of $17,800.00. He also received a Presbyterian College Grant in the amount of $3,250.00. The local senior will enter Presbyterian College this fall and major in Business as well as a Management Program.
   
While at STHS, Mr. Favor has been active in the Future Business Leaders of America Organization, having held the office of Vice President and Treasurer during his membership. He also participates in the Chess Club, is Co-Editor of the Driftwood Literary Publication and a literary contributor to this publication, the photographer and sports editor for the school yearbook, a member of the Gifted and Talented Choir, a member of the Art Club, Beta Club, Millennium Club, a Honor Roll Student and is a student council representative. He assists in the Library as a Media Center Volunteer.
   
Outside of school, Mr. Favor enjoys reading, writing, drawing and singing.  He works part time with his aunt Imogene Dawkins, at Dawkins Accounting and Tax. He is the son of Linda Favor-Dawkins and Dexter Dawkins.
