COUNTY – Staff from the Federal Correction Institution and members of the Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce again made generous donations of school supplies for use in the ECSD. Mounds of back to school supplies were delivered last week and are ready to be shipped to school guidance counselors to meet the needs in their schools.

Shown from left to right are Jan Spoon, Psychology Technician, FCI, Warden John LaManna FCI, Dr. Sharon W. Keesley, Superintendent ECSD, Wayne Smith, Executive Assistant FCI,  Donna Livingston,  Director Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce, Jennifer Hollett, FCI Attorney, Amanda Harrison, Augusta Christian School Volunteer and Dr. Frank Roberson, Associate Superintendent of Instructional Services surrounding the display of school materials.

Members of the Chamber who donated to the project were Pat Altman of SRP Federal Credit Union, Attorney Randy Williams, John C. Timmerman, Donna Hatcher-Mount Vernon Mills; Barbara Rupert-Pleasant Lane Acres, Rick Argo, Martha Gibson, Candi Lalonde – EC First Steps and the Chamber.

The Federal Correction Institution campaign is an annual event sponsored by the Federal Women’s Program. Employees of FCI donate money to the campaign for the purchase of the supplies listed as needs in each school.
