Rebel Regiment to perform at Mustang Classic Band Competition

web posted September 19, 2007
COUNTY – The Strom Thurmond Rebel Regiment will be performing at the Mustang Classic Band Competition this coming Saturday, September 22, at 9 pm. The competition will be held at the Midland Valley High School L. L. Willis Stadium beginning at 3 pm. Eighteen bands are scheduled to appear in the competition.

The Rebel Regiment has been practicing their show, “Life’s A Beach” since July. Due to the weather conditions at recent football games the band has been able to perform the show only once. Band Director Van Clark said, “Our work is one of delayed gratification; it has been brutal.”

The sacrifices and time put in by each member will become evident in the very near future.  Vicky Clark, a “band mom” said, “We practice to improve our band all the while with a greater goal of improving each of us as caring and understanding people.  As we enter the band season remember that the competition that is most important is the battle within ourselves.  When you give it your all, with heart, soul, body and mind, you win, no matter what the score.”

EdgefieldDaily.com wishes the Rebel Regiment continued success as they enter the competition this Saturday and those schedule throughout the season. Go Rebels!
