Parris, state director of public affairs with the SC FFA organization. Mrs. Friar is the Coordinator of Public Information for The Edgefield County School District and Mrs. Henderson, a teacher at Johnston Elementary, is the wife of Strom Thurmond Agricultural Education Teacher Dan Henderson. “The Honorary State FFA Degree is the highest award available to a friend and supporter of the FFA at the state level, “ Parris said. “Recipients of this award are selected for their superb leadership in promoting FFA programs at the local and state level. Mrs. Friar and Mrs. Henderson have definitely made a positive difference in the success of the Strom Thurmond Technology Center FFA Chapter”, he added. The mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education.
