  Rebel Regiment advances towards state title web posted October 24, 2006 COUNTY - The Strom Thurmond Rebel Regiment traveled to Charleston, SC on Saturday, October 21st and competed in the South Carolina Band Directors Association Lower State 2A Preliminary Competition held at West Ashley High School. The Rebel Regiment received an overall rating of Superior and placed fifth out of 17 bands making the band eligible to compete for the State Championship. The Strom Thurmond Rebel Regiment will perform Saturday, October 28th, in the SC Class 2A State Championship held in Batesburg, SC, at Batesburg-Leesville High School. The top twelve 2A bands from across the state will compete for the title. The Rebel Regiment is scheduled to perform at 12:45 pm. The Rebel Regiment band is under the direction of Mr. Van Clark, Mr. Dave Hill, Mr. Justin Craig and Ms. Katie Bennett. For
