  STCC Welding Students Learn Welding and Business Skills web posted December 5, 2007 JOHNSTON – The Strom Thurmond Career Center Welding Department students have worked extremely hard making and selling their popular flower trellis and just received their reward of new welding jackets displaying the emblem of STCC Welders. The students introduced their trellis work at the beginning of this school year and also set up a booth at the Edgefield Heritage Jubilee where they filled orders. They have just completed all their orders. It was through the profits they made off their sells that the students were able to purchase their jackets. This project has not only taught the students the welding skills needed to make a product, but also the financial skills needed to operate a business. ©
