  Collisions keep deputies - EMS- volunteers in giving spirit on Christmas day web posted December 26, 2006  SWEETWATER –
Edgefield County deputies, firefighters, and EMS workers
were busy responding to several collisions that occurred Christmas day.
At least eight people were injured and transported to area hospitals
for treatment. One crash sent five to MCG just after 2pm Christmas day.A Dodge Intrepid crossing Highway 25 from Macedonia Road was struck by a northbound Saturn Coupe injuring the four occupants in the Dodge and the driver of the Saturn. All were immobilized before being transported via two ambulances dispatched to the scene. Traffic on highway 25 northbound was intermittent as rescuers removed the injured one by from the two cars. Traffic was restored to normal an hour and a half later.  Earlier emergency
personnel were called to the scene of another
collision on highway 25 near the 1100 block. Two injuries were
reported in that incident. Just after 4pm another collision on highway 25 occurred at the intersection of highway 25 and 378. A single car crash on Cheves Creek Circle had one reported injury just before 9pm Christmas night.
