Billy’s Super Store owner stops theft
web
posted May 11, 2010
TRENTON – Just two weeks after being robbed at
gunpoint, Sheriff’s Deputies were called to another theft at the
Billy’s Super Store in Trenton this weekend. This time it was the owner
who was armed. Billy Williams, over of the store, called 911 after
seeing an oil truck drive to the back of the store and saw the driver
and passenger attempting to steal used oil from a tank behind the store.
According to incident reports, Mr. Williams confronted the two men at
which time one of the men reached for a wrench and began moving towards
him. It was then Williams drew his personal handgun and the man “backed
off”.
After investigating the incident, it was found that the two men,
identified as Timothy Lee McAbee, 43 and Joshua Lance Pittman, 23, did
not have permission to pump the oil from the recycling container at the
business. The two were driving a truck with the name of M&M Waste
Oil Services with an address in Greer SC. Mr. Williams informed the
deputy that his contract is with another company.
A statement noted in reports show Mr. McAbee said no one complained
when he pumped oil from the same container a few moths ago.
Both men were arrested and booked at the Edgefield County Detention
Center on individual charges of simple larceny.
The value of the oil was estimated at approximately $100. A court date
of May 21 at 10 am was provided.
