 Trenton Correctional Officer arrested on drug charges web posted May 29, 2006 TRENTON – South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Officers arrested a Trenton Correctional Institute Officer on Friday on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, furnishing contraband to prisoners, and misconduct in office according to warrants obtained by SLED. Kendrick D. Mitchell, 21, was arrested after purchasing an ounce of marijuana for an inmate from an undercover agent Friday morning. Further details of the arrest have not been made available due to the holiday weekend. The arrest is not the first for misconduct. In December of 2005, Trenton Correctional Officer Reginald Pernell Rearden IV, 20, of Aiken, was arrested and charged with misconduct in office for providing alcohol to an inmate during the month of October, 2005.
