North Augusta Public Safety notified the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Department of a hit and run in North Augusta around 10:12 pm Saturday night. The vehicle, a 2001 Montero Sport was seen being driven by a white male leaving the scene of the accident heading north on Highway 25.

The tag number of the vehicle came back to an address o the 100 block of Miller Street in Trenton.

The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Department was able to locate the individual vehicle and driver at 11:25 pm at the address in Trenton. The driver initially said he was not the driver at the time of the accident.

Edgefield Daily.com has not been able to confirm, at this writing, those taken into custody regarding the event.

Just 30 minutes later Edgefield Police took another individual into custody for an accident in which the individual left his car running and the doors locked. We will have a follow-up on Tuesday on these stories.
