Woman Reports Burglary, Names Possible Suspect

web posted August 1, 2014

TRENTON A Trenton woman contacted the Sheriff's Office to report the theft of her son's dirt bike from their garage. The theft was said to have taken place on July 8, but she was just now reporting the theft after hearing that the motorcycle as well as other items that were reported stolen were in the possession of a Merriwether man.

According to an incident report, the woman told the deputy that friends of her son reported that the Merriwether man had the motorcycle that belonged to her son, stereo equipment and a rifle that belonged to another man that had filed a report of the theft earlier this month.

The woman said the motorcycle was registered in her name and was valued at $1,500.

The deputy took all the information, including the name and address of the Merriwether man she suspected as having the property, and has passed that information on to investigators.
