Burglars Target Trenton Home, Steal Weapons Only

web posted October 13, 2012

TRENTON – A Tennessee Walker Lane man called the Edgefield County Sheriff's Office after arriving home and finding a total of six shotguns and rifles along with three scopes valued at a total of $3,200. The homeowner also showed deputies a hat in the driveway that did not belong to him.

An investigator was called to process the home for evidence.

The missing guns were an A5 Browning 12 gauge shotgun, two Remington 700 rifles, a Winchester Model 70, a Winchester Model 94 30-30 caliber rifle, and a 28 gauge Browning pump shotgun (serial number 05462 mw 121) - each valued at $500 a piece.

Three scopes, a Atech 6x18, BSA 3x9 and a Tasco 3x9 were also missing. They were valued at a total of $700.

The owner could not find any signs of forced entry and stated the last time he saw the guns was around noon on Tuesday. Nothing else in the home was disturbed or stolen.
