![]() Fly-over candy drop planned for Saturday in Trenton web posted October 24, 2006 TRENTON – The Trenton Flyers will be holding their annual Fly-in on October 28 at Yonce Field Airport in Trenton at noon and 4 pm. Parents are asked to bring their children to enjoy the “candy drop” by members of the Trenton Flyers. Also on hand will be Lt. Col. Alfonso Jackson, a Tuskegge Airman from World War 2. The fly over candy drop is coordinated to coincide with the Trenton Haunted House which kicks off Friday night at the Trenton Gym. “Lt. Col. Jackson is also the Civil Air Patrol recruiter for the southeast. He shares our efforts in providing an opportunity for the youth to develop interest in the aviation field. Our belief is that our youth are our most precious asset and that every effort should be placed on providing them with other alternatives to drugs and a life of crime. Lt. Col. Jackson also serves as a role model and provides an important opportunity to learn more about the history of black aviators,” a release by the Trenton Flyers stated. Several of the planes flown by the group will be on display throughout the afternoon. Organizers invite the public to attend the free event. For
