Trenton Man Arrested for Attack of 64-year-old

web posted November 13, 2012

TRENTON – A 64-year-old Winding Road man called 911 to report being viciously attacked by Wade Lamar Brannon, 42, also of Winding Road, Sunday afternoon. The man told deputies that the two men had a disagreement when Brannon is accused of picking up a stick and a garden hoe and began hitting the elderly man repeatedly causing a number of injuries.

The victim told deputies that Brannon was intoxicated and had "smoked crack" just prior to the incident.

Deputies made contact with Brannon as his home and noted he appeared to be intoxicated. As they interviewed him he cursed the deputies and the victim and was taken into custody for the attack. At the time of arrest, dispatch notified the deputies that Brannon was also wanted out of Batesburg-Leesville on shoplifting charges.

Brannon was transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center and held on a custody hold for a pending warrant for assault and battery in the second degree. Upon his release he will be turned over to Batesburg-Leesville Police to face charges there.

Thought the victim did suffer injuries, he refused offers to have EMS check him out for his own safety.
