Vinny’s Pizzeria Bar & Grill
1367 West Martintown Road, Merriwether

Dining Review Team

Our dining team took a family of four out to visit Vinny’s Pizzeria Bar and Grill in Merriwether.

Arriving at the location around 7:00pm we had difficulty finding suitable parking at the restaurant entrance. Once we drove back to the front of the complex we found parking and entered the building. We were greeted promptly and seated right away and were given our menus. Our server, Caitlin, was cheerful, friendly, and most helpful in choosing menu items.

Vinny’s has created a feel of an old country pub with a touch of a European feel. In the bar area there are two pool tables and a bar area, which also seats the smoking section from the non-smoking section. It was a busy night with most all tables filled and several call in orders being handled as well.

We were served our beverages within two minutes and our order was taken at nine minutes. With the four people dining our team was able to sample an assortment of menu items. One of the teens choose slices of the pizza, which the other teen also choose with barbeque chicken wings.

Our dining team selected from the appetizer list with beer battered onion rings and hot wings (mild) and the other choose the Vinny’s salad. The onion rings were served within 20 minutes of our arrival. They were delicious and hot. A crisp batter surrounded the tender, but still firm, onion rings. The family made the plentiful basket of goodies disappear quickly.

The meal was served hot at 34 minutes after our arrival. The pizza was tasty and the slices were large. The serving of barbeque wings were also a plentiful offering and were tender and tasty. The Buffalo wings (mild) were delicious and also plentiful. Though our team loves spicy hot foods as well, they were glad they did not try the hot, Buffalo wings! The mild wings were served hot and the sauce was hot as well. A perfect blend spices and sauce made the wings a great offering anytime.

The Vinny’s salad was not as well received. It was not a bad tasting salad, but all four sampled the salad and none were encouraged. The team chalked this one up to a taste opinion and not necessarily a poor salad.

Prior to visiting Vinny’s the team also ordered out to sample another dish, the Stromboli. It was cooked to a  golden brown crust and with its combination of pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, blended with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses and a wonderful marinara sauce made the dish a dinner for two for just $5.95 a great tasting bargain.

In all our visit to Vinny’s from arrival to departure was just under an hour and was enjoyable and one that left all pleased, filled, and even a to-go-box with leftovers that were unable to be eaten at the sitting. We recommend area residents to visit Vinny’s Pizzeria Bar and Grill for an enjoyable, friendly, and feel of everyone being neighbors as total strangers were meeting and talking to those seated next to them.

Order: Appetizer Beer battered onion rings with dipping sauce ($3.75), three slices of pizza ($1.65 each), Buffalo wings ($5.75 each barbeque and mild) and the Vinny’s salad ($6.50) and beverages totaled $39.98 before gratuity.
