Editor's post: I have nothing to add to the conversation
below.
Due to a heavy list of those sending in Birthday and Anniversary wishes
today, they have been delayed being published due to three breaking
stories we were following. A report of an armed man in a stolen Jeep
stopped in the Rainbow Falls Road area who ran from Edgefield County
Sheriff's Deputies is being withheld until more information can be
collected. Other stories are included in today's Headlines.
All entriers in the Birthday/Anniversary drawing have already been
added to our monthly drawing even though they do not appear in today's
publication. The winner will be announced on Monday.

What is going on in the school district
that they will not help bus driver with this problem.Ridge Road in
Johnston is really bad the students on this bus use profane and abusive
language like it is normal. They have no respect at all.wandering where
is the mother and father of these children. Here is a thought if it was
a teacher that had to endure this that student would be out of
school.it is a bus driver the school or the district don't care. As a
Person, Mother, Father, Tax Payer and someone who care. What about the
students that is not acting up why must they endure this
behavior.Something need to be done about this the school need to
put a principal or a police officer on that bus. They just need to
get the bad apples of the bus so the good apples can have a safe
ride.If i was a bus driver that bus would be back to the school every
day or the police call to get whoever is acting up.I know they don't
get paid to endure what i hear been going on that bus route. Bus
driver is to drive children to and from
school safe each and every day. What is the school district going to do
about this ?One of them from the district office should ride that bus
.This has been going on all year .Get it under control district
office......

Who is kidding who? Piedmont Tech
will have their three votes. Is Bettis on the board? Is
Bettis on the board for Tompkins library too? Aren't those the
only Non Government Organizations that are so vocal? Just
wondering. I am glad Mr. Ashcraft is my councilman because he
displays fiscal responsibility. He has pointed out that the
county is digging out of the savings to run the County. Ashcraft
is only stating the facts. I find it interesting that we have not
heard from Scott Mims on these issues. I will be picking his
words apart, as I am sure he will have help from BOSS HOG and
PIGLET. I also think it is sad that some people who had Ashcraft
signs in their yard took them down. Think they were "pressured"
to do so? I guess we just can't get away from the GOOD OLD BOYS

acccordance with the repayment agreement. so in essence, we agree you
cant afford to pay us, we dont care, we cannot offer you any
assistance in this matter, or agree to different terms on the repayment
plan. Way to help out the average american, I guess since Im not a mult
Billion dollar corporation,I dont qualify for a bail out, but they did
offer to take my income tax for non payment. The past two years this
department has refused to help me or work with Senator Demint's office
and Congressman Gresham Barrett's office. I am so glad Obama is

I saw the two ads in the Advertiser. I
don’t buy the paper because it’s nothing but a bunch of gossipy old
women who do whatever Rainsford tells them, but its easy enough to find
a copy laying on the lunch counter at any of the local eateries. As
soon as I read them I knew that (name removed) was behind it because it
came up in a conversation I had with him a few days ago. I’m disgusted
about the content of the ads and with (removed) for doing it. I enjoy
Edgefield Daily. I find it to be a very informative, helpful, and
timely source for my local news. I thank the Editor for making this

As a resident of Johnston I agree with the
poster who believes Johnston needs some beautifying...and I believe our
new mayor should take the reins of leadership and begin the process of
cleaning up the numerous building/home eyesores that have been left
untouched. Mayor Livingston stated he wants Johnston to be another
Mayberry. That is a great expectation, but town ordinances need to be
put into operation OR nothing will change. Our last mayor (I did not
vote for him) feel asleep at the wheel and let the entire town slip
into a financial abyss, allowed child molestors to live like kings in
our town and did nothing to clean up the building eyesores owned by
slum lords most residents know by name. Most of these slum lords live
in Saluda, Edgefield, or out of state in some cases. They don't care.
Time to hold their feet to the fire Mr. New Mayor and concerned
citizens. It's not fair to the homeowners who have invested in this
town to allow these slumlords free reign at ruining the towns'
appearance. Even though Mayberry is a fictional town, it was safe to
live in, did not have child molestors crawling around, and was clean.
Ohhhhhh....Mr. Mayor, you have a child molestor living a few doors down
from you. Did you know that? As a concerned citizen, I am doing my
part, paying taxes, maintaining my property, looking for criminal
slime, and watching out for my neighbors. Mr. Mayor, you are now the
steward of our town, start taking names and kicking arse.

Re: What do you expect at Wardlaw?
No, I do not have children at Wardlaw. I will tell you what my beef is,
when you have a Board trying to take over the way this Board did it is
uncalled for. You don’t treat people the way they did! These people are
heartless, ruthless, and sneaky. When people will look at you face to
face and tell you one thing, and then go behind your back and do
totally the opposite – it is wrong! I don’t have a problem with Mr.
Williams. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. However,
on this Board you have the younger generations of these families and
all they think about is what they want. You know who you have on this
Board – the Williams, Yonces, and Carrs. That should tell you
something. It is all about money and what their money can buy!!! Oh
yes, and about prayer you’re right. Prayer should be in school and that
is what’s wrong with our public school. As for Wardlaw, they better
start praying that the people out there running the school will treat
others the way they want to be treated! They way they have been running
the place lately make you wonder if they know what a Christian is!!!!
Oh Yea – Strom Thurmond why don’t you elect your Board to Wardlaw –
just let the Board elect who they want on the Board. Maybe you will end
up with all family members!

Scott Mims is just another puppet put up
to run because Bettis is scared he's losing his control of the county
commissioners with Monroe (Kneece) retiring. I guess since Ascraft
won't bend over Bettis has to make sure he has his boy on there to keep
his power. That's why we're voting for Ashcraft. They are already
bullying people who had Ashcraft signs in their yards to remove them.
How nice... thug politics brought to you by the very people who have
run this county in the ground! That's why Mr. Ashcrafts sign is still

Arizona passed a tough immigration
law. SC needs
one.
What is the percentage of ESL (English as a Second Language) students
in our schools ? I know in Aiken county, some elementary schools
are over 20% ESL. The vast majority of these students are here
illegally. How much does this cost our schools ? What are
the percentages for Edgefield ? I tried finding the information
on the SC Dept. of Education website to no avail. Dealing with
ECSD, please !
Also employment. Illegals have taken many jobs.
Construction workers cannot compete with workers paid by subcontractors
paying less than minimum wage. Do you honestly believe these
illegals are being paid competitive wages. Ask anyone in
construction.
I realize Arizona has pushed this discussion forward. Our
politicians have been caught sleeping. John McCain has suddenly
discovered there are illegals in Arizona. Obama never will.
SC politicians, particularly on the state level have yet to discover
this. They are too busy giving 10 million dollars to the golf
tournament in Hilton Head while our teachers are being furloughed.
The SC state representatives are literally fiddling while SC
burns. Cutsy-pie resolutions about abortions and beauty queens
don't cut it. How about some real legislation to give SC jobs to
legal SC residents. Huge wall of silence from the state.
Get wise folks, this batch of country clubbers, Republican or Democrat,
doesn't give a @#$% about you. I sent an email to Shane Massey,
no response yet. Didn't bother with Clyburn, he doesn't talk to
folks from Edgefield.
I will question every candidate this year about what they will do about
returning SC jobs to legal residents and stop the drain on schools by
deporting illegals.
One caveat, if someone is here LEGALLY, I fully support their right to
be here. Your jobs, your schools, and your state are under attack.

Re: Wardlaw How about those teachers that
did not get a contract for the up coming school year? This should have
been handled more discreetly, these teachers should have been spared
the hateful treatment they are getting by the students. How quickly the
word spread through the school to all the other students. Board
members, how about not discussing these private issues around your
children. They are the ones that come back to spread the word on the
insights that are talked about from you. This also violates the PRIVACY
ACT law.
Board members WARDLAW does need change, however, you should re-evaluate
your own personal motives in writing the rules. Rules are made to be
followed. If you are going to put them in writing, then play by rules
as you want others to abide by them, to include your relatives and your
children.
Parents, the state of South Carolina does have an Anti-bullying law
that all schools both private or public, still have to abide by. In
reviewing the Wardlaw Academy "Handbook", it is very vague about
Anti-bullying. Don't just speak to the Board members about your
complaints, put them in writing.

"unsigned" so-called political ads that ran in the Edgefield Advertiser
on Wednesday. Yes, even your little secret can't escape being exposed
and I will expose you when I so choose. But, I want to thank you in
advance.
Isn't it ironic that the very same people who complain that Edgefield
Daily gives you the right to speak your mind anonymously in the
Wandering Minds complains about you making your opinions anonymously
while doing so anonymously (at least for now) in a paper that hates
Edgefield Daily giving you the right to do so and refused to print my
response to previous claims?
Who is hiding the truth and who fears the people? Edgefield Daily or
the "Edgefield Advertiser? In their own reporting on April 28 they
confirmed the content of reports by Edgefield Daily that Jim Klauber,
of PTC said they would take the $43,000 offered by the County and still
close the Edgefield Campus at the April 20 work session of the
County Council as true.
But somehow Edgefield Daily is lying to you by producing factual and
recorded comments and quotes by all participants in public meetings
(something the "Edgefield Advertiser" does not do) when they report the
exact same thing while listing the "advertisement" and a "push ad" for
Scott Mims from a political action committe that does not legally exist
- in addition to a weekly writer they publish that openly stated,
"Don't forget to vote for Scott Mims".

also made me realize that by saying nothing, I was not being an

that other parents will speak up with their opinions and thoughts on
the problems as well. Our teacher this year is one that has been
let go and my child, as well as everyone in our family, truly love this

"Mr. Theo Williams is ONE or the parents
that started Wardlaw 40 years ago." I don't recall anyone speaking ill
of Mr. Theo. We are all indebted to him and the others who founded the
school. His qualities have been part of the school for many years. Now,
however it appears that these same qualities have not transferred from
generation to generation. We have lost the good that Mr. Theo intended
for the school to the current, narrow minded, me and what I want
generation. There is some sort of strange new philosophy at play. The
we only want quality rich people attending approach. Do you measure up?
There is an arrogance about how the new Head proposes these sweeping
changes. Gosh, sounds similar to the White House! The board seems to
think that they know more about running a school than the professionals
that are already there. Most of the professionals would have and could
have offered advice, but it was never solicited. Arrogance and pride
are not a good combination when one is trying to properly direct the
education of our children.

Dear President Obama,
My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this
year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age
because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.
I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during
and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live
in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor , allowing
me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.
One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my
mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.
So here goes.
I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I
do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.
I can't figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable
lies like:
" We're no longer a Christian nation"
" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even announced to the world,"
America is mean- spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching that
nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe
who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of
strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)
I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America,
nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the
obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or
gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.
After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."
Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that
11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the
British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to
another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope
you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a
lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real
strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand
for freedom.
I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than
discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people
understood when they helped to get you elected.
Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.
Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do
what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on
Pennsylvania Avenue . You were elected to lead not to bow,
apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still
treat their people like slaves.
And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to
jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his
fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to
do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black
college professor in Massachusetts , who was putting up a fight?
You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't
want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are,
terrorists.
One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and
never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the
Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your
battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to
complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this
fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is
not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.
You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest
challenge ever presented to any president.
You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our
bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the
heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in
this final battle...
Sincerely,
Harold B. Estes
Snopes confirms as true:

When a 95 year old hero of the "the Greatest Generation" stands up and
speaks out like this, I think we owe it to him to send his words to as

America on the Brink
We are on the brink of a revolutionary transformation of our system of
government and our way of life -- one that will turn us into a
European-style social-welfare state where only politicians, government
bureaucrats, and their favored interests are able to thrive -- and
where the "liberty" that remains is the government's unlimited freedom
to control every aspect of your life.
Do you want to live in such an America? You don't have to. JUST
VOTE THEM OUT IN NOVEMBER and stop the ObamacRATS from destroying our

Johnston citizens were encouraged to
"spruce up" their property for the upcoming Peach Blossom Festival on
May 1st. Oh that worked rather well..............
The car lot across from Herlong Chevrolet is looking just great.
Yeh the one combined with the now closed "roach motel" and the home of
the vine or mold covered barely used cars, your choice.
This alone is a disgrace to the town. Oh yeh they do have an
annex or storage lot located down the street from the Post
Office. More junk, uhh excuse me fine used cars are stored
there. But don't expect any change to that. Why? Well
two council members could be the reason. (family ties you know)
Then there is the "building" behind the Amoco station, if you can call
it a building. It looks like part of the set for an episode of
the old Munsters TV show. Now don't get your hopes up that it
will change either. Check out who owns it.
Then there are those houses on Aiken Avenue with the excess
furniture. They have so much furniture they have to keep some in
their front yards or on the front porches. Recliners, couches and
the like. No grass but lots of furniture. Yeh that will be
a big draw to prospective new residents or business.
What about all the homes with yards that have not been cut THIS
YEAR?? Like the one on Edisto Street. Yeh the two story
grey one. That is only one that visitors would see while looking
at the town.
I almost forgot the burnt building on Calhoun street. No progress
is being made to tear it down. Look who owns it. I
could list MANY more eye catchers, but there is a word limit. By
now the picture is clear. No one cares what the town looks
like. Not even town hall............

I find it extremely funny reading all of
the rants concerning Wardlaw Academy. It's very apparent the mental
capacity of some of those who submit their comments. If you do not have
children attending the school, then why bother to rant and rave about
how the Academy is operated? If you were to home school your child,
would you want me to comment that you do not spend enough time
educating your children?
While I was in another state on the west coast, my wife and I chose to
try for one year and experiment at home schooling. Both my wife and I
have received significant college educations. We believed that the
education our child was receiving was insufficient. The final results
of our experiment were extraordinary. We spent less than three hours a
day with actual books and lessons, but all day was a learning
experience. The end of year testing required by the state showed our
child to be two grades higher or better on all subjects in comparison
to the children in public institutions.
My point to all of this is to convey to everyone. If you are truly so
concerned about the education your child or any child is receiving then
should be involved in the process. Teachers are not baby sitters and
school is not a daycare. Utilize every opportunity to offer different
educational opportunities for your children. A great math exercise that
we used was at the grocery store. We would keep a running total of what
we were spending, using price comparisons based on the size of
comparable items and in the end we would explain and let our child
compute the total amount spent by adding the tax to the total. What
were able to teach in a few minutes at the grocery store would take a
teacher several days or more to teach to a classroom.
Try being a solution sometime instead of being part of the problem.
Complaining without contemplation of corrective actions is only adding
to the problem.

Wandering why we all sitting talking about
things that really can be answered. On the other hand lets just give you
some serious topics that we all can talk about.
1. School children --- Nothing for them to do to keep them out of
trouble?
2.Teacher's and bus drivers ---- Who have the most responsible ?Why is
when a teacher write up a student for disrespect they get pride academy
?When a bus driver write up the same thing the student get 3 days off
the bus? We really need to get ridge road under control on
the bus.!!
3.Jobs ------ Why is there no big company building in
Edgefield County to bring jobs to our area so we can build
up Edgefield County ?
4.Mentor ---- Where is the big sister and big brother programs?
5.Pride Academy ----- The name suppose to say it all but instead
this students have more fun then learning!!no homework , no test ,
seriously what are they doing over there.?
They just taking a break from the teacher but still acting up on
the bus.
6.Disciplinary Action fair at all school----Example: Bus Driver
at one school student throw something at bus driver
and they just put the student on another bus.Simple because mother or
father didn't have a way to get child to school.Same thing happen at
another school involving a bus driver and the student get a
charge . What is the difference help me out?
7. We need more police around the county for every area that might help
the crime>
8.ALL THE FREE GRANT MONEY LET'S PUT IT TO USE AND BUILD UP
EDGEFIELD COUNTY.
9.TEACHERS ARE TO TEACH CHILDREN WHEN THEY START ACTING GROWN NO
TEACHER SHOULD HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THAT.
10.BUS DRIVER ARE TO DRIVE CHILDREN TO AND FROM SCHOOL NOT ADULTS
NOR IS THEY A DAYCARE/ BABYSITTER'S. EDGEFIELD COUNTY
WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON NOT ONLY AT WARDLAW ,BUT ALL THE SCHOOLS
.LETS' NOT FORGET PRIDE ACADEMY AND ALL THE COUNTY IN GENERAL WE
NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP.................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

about this. He is our Senator, but he sure doesn't represent my views
as a conservative. He is in office for a long time. It might be wise to
contact him and let him know what you think if you are concerned about
this.
The amnesty issue is more of a spring board for this administration to
try to build support. Why is it a problem to enforce the laws of this
country? Arizona deals with so many issues due to the open boarder. We
have no idea. This is not a race issue, it is a matter of law. They
break the law to be here while others are still waiting in line and
doing it the right way. Is that fair? This issue is the only one
I can remember that Obama has questioned the constitutionality status.
Since when is following the Constitution a priority for him? It seems
that people breaking the law by coming here illegally, and
then taking the money of hard working Americans through entitlements is
OK. Boy, this is certainly not the country I grew up in. Why is working
hard, supporting your own family, saving for the future and taking care
of ourselves becoming so hard to do? With all the money we have to give
to support people who don't hold those values, it is getting hard to
care for ourselves. Tells you something.

sending them to Pride Academy when they have more fun then been
in regular school .what is the daily planning because to me they have
more fun than learning. I never see them with books so that mean they
is not doing homework. They should only get 45 minutes to eat. Just
because they are good that day don't mean they can play early. That is
why they are in pride academy in the first place. If i was
the teacher at that school it would run as following:
9 am ------ english
10:30------math
11:45-----reading
12:45-----lunch
1:30------history
2:30-------essay writing
3:00------recap homework
They should have there on way to and from school .When riding the
bus it is free to the children that know how to behave on and off the
bus . Why is the school funding the transportation need for them they
still be acting up on the bus?.My bad it just a bus driver not a
teacher. In a classroom you have 20 students and on a bus 65-78
students Who should have better control ?
Just wandering why we not making these mother and father see how they
need to help instead of letting it slide. these children still have fun
and is not learning nothing ................enough is enough make them

why Obama is to be feared and why during the November Mid-term

Communist/Socialist agenda. A real old-party Democrat should be ashamed
of Obama and his Marxist meanderings, raising taxes, the disarming of
America, bowing to low-life third world thugs, saying whatever it takes
to push a liberal agenda, and so on. Todays Democrap personifies the

I fear retribution to my children if I
speak out about what is going on at Wardlaw. I believe there was
far more to the early retirement of the former Headmaster and
resignation of the board member than the parents were told and keeping
everything in such deep secrecy did little to ease the suspicions of
many parents. There is an elitist attitude at Wardlaw and it
starts with the board. The only difference I can see between the
Edgefield County School Board and the Wardlaw School Board is that one
protects black students/teachers and one protects the elite and wealthy
students.
Regarding "My last comment to you, go to public school and see if you
are happier there. HA"
This is exactly the elite attitude to which I am referring.
The elite students in the school know their status and are not afraid
to use it when they are unhappy with a teacher or situation at
school. An example of this is the recent situation involving 4
grades, one teacher and some very unchristian like behavior.
Instead of there being consequences for the offending students, the
headmaster called all of the students in those grades to the lunchroom
and gave them a lecture. His intentions may be good but he has no
power with those kids and he knows it as does everyone else. He
may have the authority to enforce the dress code but that is about as
far as his powers extend.
Even the person that attempted to defend this board gave proof that
they are unprofessional and do not ALWAYS do the right
thing. The school board member that went home and gossiped
about school business has no busines being on that board and should
resign but instead they will blame someone else and then scold the
child that went to school and repeated the gossip. More typical
elite behavior. So again, I have to question whether any of them
are really trying to do the right thing.
I do still believe that Wardlaw is better than the public schools in
Edgefield County but I have very little faith that anyone on that board
cares about my kids. And if mine behaved the way some of the
elite students have, they would be held accountable for their bad
behavior.

thinking?
The following is a narrative taken from a 2008 Sunday
morning televised "Meet The Press'. The author (Dale
Lindsborg) is employed by none other than the very liberal
Washington Post!!
From Sunday's 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST,
Televised "Meet the Press" THE THEN Senator Obama was asked
about his stance on the American Flag. General Bill
Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn't follow
protocol when the National Anthem is played.
The General stated to Obama that according to the United
States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...During rendition of
the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present
(except those in uniform) are expected
to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand
over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".
NOW GET THIS !! - - - - -
'Senator' Obama replied: "As I've said about the flag
pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides". "There are a
lot of people in the world to whom the American flag
is a symbol of oppression.." "The anthem itself conveys a
war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all
that sort of thing."
(ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???)
Obama continued: "The National Anthem should be
'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like
the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing'. If that
were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my
opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as
well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies
hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to
disarm America to the level of acceptance to our
Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of waring people,
conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails
- - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could
exist between our governments ."
When I become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to
end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state
of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We
as a Nation, have placed upon the nations of Islam,
an unfair injustice which is WHY my wife disrespects
the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning
ceremonies in the past".
"Of course now, I have found myself about to become
the President of the United States and I have put my
hatred aside. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this
Nation, and offer the people a new path.. My wife and I
look forward to becoming our Country's First black Family.
Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of
America "
WHAAAAAAAT, the (heck) is that??? Yes, you read it
right. I, for one, am speechless!!!

As far as I'm concerned, the individuals leading our school are quality
people. I admire those who give of their time in order to prepare

I simply can't put a price on our child having the opportunity to be
educated in a Christian setting. Further more, I've never
encountered a board or faculty member not willing to listen to my
concerns. One reason we chose Wardlaw was because of people like Tim
and Susan Williams, Martha Sanders, Reg Williams, and others who give
so much of their time to this school. I know these individuals
personally and know their hearts are in the right place.
On another note, I would ask that our Wardlaw board members try their
best to keep school business between their fellow board members and the
faculty. I was recently told by my child that a board members
daughter had come to school and was telling her fellow students which
teachers contracts had not been renewed. This is unacceptable and
any board member who can't keep the details of school business private

Instead, it pays for 10 bureaucrats to operate the oddly named

What do you expect at Wardlaw? When a fine
man like Trace Faust steps down as Chairman and then the Headmaster Ben
Couch leaves in mid-year, you know there is something going on. Yeah –
that would be the Board! The normal people out there better wake up and
see what is going on. Chris Gossett comes off and Melissa Yonce goes
on, Ellen Courtney comes off and James Courtney goes on, Reg Williams
comes off and who goes on as Chairman Martha Sanders! They replace
Trace with Kelley Sanders and then they put Jody Addy and Billy Rutland
on. How’s that for all in the FAMILY! People open your eyes. That Board
works like the OBAMA Administration, there are some under handed
dealings going on. (removed) The younger generations of these family
have not learned that we peons are the ones they get their money from!
You better run for dry land. Oh yeah, I have lived in Edgefield for 37
years, I know what goes on around here. This new man coming is their
puppet. He was hired because they (the Board) can dictate to him. When
you start changing the rules and regulations so they can accommodate
what you want – something is wrong. That school has been running just
fine for 40 years and now they want to change it so it can work their

I am very concerned that the Edgefield
County Council is operating out of control. While it is necessary
to update/replace police and other emergency vehicles, it is not
essential to fund non-profits. In fact, I do not think that the
Council should fund any non-profit. If someone wants to make a
personal contribution, that is their business. The Council should
not be substituting their judgment for the citizens of Edgefield
County. Further, it seems that there may be a conflict of
interest in donating money to Piedmont Tech. I have been told
that Piedmont Tech leases their Edgefield facility from a close friend
of some of the members of the Council. If that is true, than this
is an indirect way to funnel money into the hands of Council members or
their friends. This may not be illegal but it does seem to be a
conflict. Who owns the facilities that Piedmont Tech
leases? This would be interesting for all citizens to
know. Finally, as funds are tight, it is going to be
difficult to cover required operations, much less non essential non
profits. As property values are significantly less than five
years ago, it will not be possible to re-assess the property at higher
values. The only alternative is to raise the millage rate.
This will hurt everyone. I hope that the citizens of the three
districts that did not replace their council members in 2008 will do so
this year. It seems that most votes that incur extra cost to the
County are decided on a three to two vote; always the same three to two
vote; with the two “no” votes being the new council members.
Consequently, if our fellow citizens want to see their taxes decrease
(or remain the same), they must vote out the remaining three
dinosaurs. Fortunately, one is leaving on his own.
Editor's note: Piedmont Tech owns the building and pays zero in
property taxes. Bettis Rainsford donated the building to them in 2005
(I believe that is the correct date).

that we pay for channels that we can't get because Northland is to
cheap to upgrade the lines,. We are suppose to have the same line up as
Greenwood but we dont', although we pay for it. That sounds like it
should be illegal, unethical at best. Shouldn't our rates be less to
reflect the lack of channels that we are unable to get. One of which
being ESPNU. Science channel and several others. They refuse to add

hate paying for something that I am not able to use. Northland is to
small a company to ever be any better than they are now, which is
awful. Aiken dumped them for Atlantic Broadband and I dont' know of

Editor's post: It seems that Edgefield County’s $242,000
budget deficit just got a lot larger than anticipated. According to
reports, the State Senate is tiptoeing around the Aid to Subdivisions
(commonly referred to as the Local Government Fund or LGF). The budget
passed by the House includes a cut
of almost $28 million (or a cut of roughly 12% of the funding
provided to counties and municipalities last year). I hope the
Administrator’s Office has a lot of red ink, because we’re piling it on.
Do not forget about the funding from the Special Local Option Sales Tax
(SPLOST) - of which Edgefield County is a “receiver county” - in that
we get more in return than we pay in from the extra penny tax collected
on the sales tax. State sales tax revenues are down, way down.
Depending on the report, revenues are down between 22% and 29%.
That again spells less revenue or, better said, more red ink for the
county.
Not to mention that the Department of Revenue threw a nice monkey
wrench into the state accounting when it was discovered that $60
million that was supposed to be set aside last year wasn’t and that
forecasts for the coming fiscal year are also off by $60 million for a
total of $120 million in cuts.
I see the red ink rising to unprecedented levels this year. County
Auditor Bill Gilchrist said this was a budget situation like none he’s
ever seen when we discussed the numbers on Friday. Don't forget to take
into account revenue projections for the county that may come in lower
than expected as the economy continues downward, not upward.
And all this is long before we get into talking about the money the
county council majority is going to vote to “give away” to groups and
businesses that produce no revenues for the county general fund at or
above their property taxes.
Piedmont Tech pays zero property taxes but has requested $149,000,
won’t settle on the $43,000 given last year, and threatens to close if
their demand for more free money from the taxpayer is not met. It
reminds me of a movie where the innocent (taxpayers) are held hostage
by the thieves (PTC) until the victim (County Council) pays the
randsom. It all comes down to the climax when SWAT (the voter) moves in
to rescue the hostages (taxpayers).
The beautiful part of all this is the majority of county council
members are challenged and are up for re-election (Chairman Kneece is
already out) and they have to vote on the budget just one week before
the primaries. They will either vote to raise taxes, take nearly one
third of our emergency reserves, or cut personnel or services. There
are no other choices.
It’s doubtful the voters will forget what they did just seven days
before the elections.

Just one question, Dorn's
poster states he "voted no on zoning ordinance in the
county". Which zoning ordinance? Seems to me he along with
Kneece and Bright voted YES on the zoning ordinance for the Hagler
business which is not in their district, does not affect his voters and
should have been up to the citizens in that area and their
representative (Mrs. Blackwell). Is this suppose to be a feather
in his cap that he sided with the other two to spit in the face of
citizens in Merriweather? We know things will change, hopefully for the
better in June and November. Kneece will be gone because he is
not running.
With challengers for Dorn's and Bright's positions there is a chance
voters will get it right this time. You may not like it but there
has been only two standing tall in the face of "business as usual"
Ashcraft and Blackwell. These two demonstrate the vision needed
to move Edgefield County into a positive spotlight.
Even that is being challenged by those who like things as usual.
Businesses looking to locate here are seeking a strong and
progressive council before investing in this community. We need a
council that works together for the betterment of all five districts
with a common sense approach. There is hope that can happen
beginning this year. Let's send a message to those businesses,
Edgefield County wants quality progress. Get out and vote or
continue to suffer the consequences.

This is so simple that it's brilliant. And it has another benefit, too:

There should be a law somewhere to prevent a County Council from giving
tax money to non-profit group, No Matter What The Cause or Who the
Group Is. If I want to donate money to that group I will, but if I
don't want to give money to that group, The County Council should not

Editor's note: That is a very good point and one I have raised in past

Butler Hoops Team Under Investigation - AP
INDIANAPOLIS-- Butler 's run in the NCAA Men's Basketball National
Championship Game may be tarnished after reports surfaced today that
all 13 players on the roster are being given good educations in an
effort to help them find good jobs after they leave the school. "It's
important to remember that right now these are only allegations --
allegations that we are looking into," said NCAA president James Isch.
"But, obviously, if true, this would be very disappointing. The NCAA
has certain expectations and standards. It's not fair for players at
one school to be given good educations while athletes at other member
schools receive basic, remedial instruction that is worth essentially
nothing." According to documents seized from the school's
registrar's office, Butler players have received an education worth
$38,616 per year totaling more than $150,000 over a four-year
career.
Compare that to players at a school like Kentucky , where tuition is
set at $4,051 -- but with an actual value far below that. We
don't want to say too much until these reports are confirmed," said
Kentucky head basketball coach John Calipari. "But we're talking about
almost $140,000 difference in education per player -- and that's even
if my players stayed four years or graduated, which many of them do
not. Then these Butler players are reportedly stepping into good jobs
after graduation while my kids, if they don't make the NBA, have
absolutely no job prospects or life skills. It's far from a
balanced playing field. They are buying the best players by giving them
a high-priced education."
In addition to the allegations that they were given an expensive
education, many Butler players have been spotted around campus holding
books, studying and engaging in interesting conversations. Others have
been seen with people who are known to not be tutors. Butler
point guard and Kentucky native Ronald Nored, who is reportedly a
secondary education major, denied allegations that the Bulldog program
is cheating.
"The discourse on this matter is fatuous and inane," he said,
implicating the program further.

Editor's post: I just had to laugh after seeing a flyer
being circulated by District 1 County Councilman Norman Dorn that
stated, "Don't Let Opportunist Sway Your Vote!"
Okay, first of all it was written by someone smarter than Dorn as he
could not spell "opportunist" with a dictionary. Secondly, the correct
verbiage would be to not let "opportunists" (plural) sway the vote. So,
even the person smarter than Dorn (which isn't hard to achieve) is not
"smarter than a fifth grader" when it comes to the production of
campaign material to try to fend off a challenge by Albert Talbert.
Another interesting fact on the flyer is it listed the cell phone
number for County Council Vice-chairman Willie Bright (803-215-8000).
Since it was published by Mr. Dorn, why not give Mr. Bright a call and
let him know how you feel about Mr. Dorn, or him for that matter. Mr.
Dorn also lists his home phone number (803-637-3545). Why not give him
a call as well.
So Dorn has now linked Willie Bright to his campaign material. That's
got to be a big plus for Bright who is being challenged by Byron
Robinson, a former US Marine.

Well color me surprised! Now that health
care has passed, El Presidente came out today railing once again
against Wall Street and the banks. "We must have financial reform!" he
cried. Hmmm. Is it really "financial" reform to give him and little
Timmy Geithner sole power to take over any bank they want? Any business
they want? For any reason they want? Without any Judicial review? I'm
skeptical, but
willing to play along. What do I see next? Why, it's little Timmy
Geithner at the White House Press briefing! Where's he been? And why
did he show up at the briefing? Oh wait -- he's taking questions!
Quick, somebody ask him if he used Turbo Tax this year! Silly me, he
doesn't have to pay his taxes anymore. Now, what did he just say? Our
debt is unsustainable and will crush us UNLESS WE FOLLOW THE
PRESIDENT'S FINANCIAL REFORM PLAN. Huh.
Imagine. Maybe I heard that wrong, I'll go check the net. Hey, here's
an article by the Leader of the Lefties, George Soros. He's that
mega-wealthy financier who makes his millions collapsing currencies.
He's all about the $$$$ so he would know! His profits are okay, since
he's a progressive and not one of those evil republicans. Well lookie
here, he says the same thing that little Timmy says! Our debt is
unsustainable, we're going the way of Greece, our society will crumble
UNLESS WE FOLLOW THE PRESIDENT'S
FINANCIAL REFORM PLAN. I am just shocked! I guess we must all do our
part as good little American suckers and pony up plenty in taxes.
After all, the majority of the country wanted the bank bailouts, the GM
bailout, the AIG bailout, the stimulus, the no jobs bill, and health
care. Since we wanted all these things, it's our duty to pay for them.
Hold on. We DIDN'T want those things. We all called, wrote letters,
went to TEA Parties to rally AGAINST those things. Heck, New Jersey and
Massachusetts elected REPUBLICANS to show their displeasure
with the new policies. REPUBLICANS -- IN THE NORTHEAST!!! Good
grief!
This is serious! Well, I'm sure those in charge in Washington have
heard our cries and will listen. Surely they won't raise taxes while
the country is trying to get out of this recession. Which, I am a
little confused about that. Some days El Presidente says we're in a
recession, other days we are good to go and the sky is the limit! Who
knows for sure, I guess we can just "trust" Washington. After all, they
have brought us hope AND change! I'm sure it's just a freak
occurrence that so many people -- including an overwhelming number of
young African-Americans -- have no jobs. I just refuse to believe El
Presidente won't take care of them. Oh, more unemployment
extensions?
But I thought we were broke? Yes? No? Maybe? Didn't China just demand
yesterday to know how much they were going to have to spend on our
delicious new health care plan? I mean, we don't have the money for it.
Sooooo, I guess they aren't paying for those unemployment benefits. I
know! We'll get super-insider Benny B. to fire up the printing presses
at the FED and get to work! Americans need money to pay for all the new
taxes coming our way! What? Benny B. is now warning of an apocalypse if
we don't stop spending? But he was the guy we just HAD to keep around
because he's such an expert on "The Great
Bush Depression" or that other depression, whatever. Depression,
recession -- they're just gloomy Gus words used by FOX news to scare us
anyway. But he did say he was the only one who could keep us from
crashing over the cliff and now what did I just hear him say? "Our debt
is unsustainable and will crush us UNLESS WE FOLLOW THE PRESIDENT'S
FINANCIAL REFORM PLAN." Wow! They must all be on the same page! Too bad
the rest of America isn't reading that book. We're too busy smelling a
giant, rotting, maggot-infested rat. I hope to see y'all at the TEA

Ok let me get this straight, our new
administrator presented a budget to county council without the
frills. Even though Mrs. Blackwell requested a budget committee
meeting, before it was presented to the full council, there has not
been a meeting. Mr. Brown (new administrator) signed a petition
for Piedmont Tech to get funds and even said he had talked with Mr.
Kneece and that Piedmont Tech will get significant funding.
Shouldn't that be left up to the full council to decide? I don't
think it is the administrator's job to put that information out there
nor should he be signing on to support these groups. I am
not against them getting money if we can afford it, I am just saying
this looks like politics to me.
The proper way to have handled this is that a committee meeting should
have been held before the first reading, even though the "business as
usual" council members don't adhere to this thought process. The
administrator should have given them the suggested budget with only
funding for the government needs. He should have given them line
items for consideration such as patrol cars, employees raises. He
should also have given them a line item budget for those things such as
Piedmont Tech, Thompkins Library etc.
This would have saved so much time and heartache for all
involved.
If these things had been done, the committee could have worked on
various scenerios and been prepared to present these issues to the full
council without all the drama.
This looks as if Mr. Brown, administrator, and Mr. Kneece, Chairman,
are supporting the non-profits while the other council members are
not. Come on guys get your act together and work as a team.
Game playing helps no one. You start with the basic and then add
on if you can.
Just in case someone missed the point, any funding added to the budget
will result in a larger deficit( negative balance, no reserves).
In other words we don't have the money so tough choices have to be
made. If it were your money who and how much would you
fund? Oh that's right, it is our money.

Re: Game Camera at Basketball Court.
The last time I checked, EPD hasn't had to respond to numerous
complaints at the soccer field or the Edgefield Gym.
Over the last two years, as a baseball coach, I've had to call EPD 2
times for help with individuals "playing" basketball. The first
incident involved a fight that began on the basketball court, spilled
out into the road and eventually into the right field area of the
baseball field. Before it was all said and done, I estimated at
least 20 individuals to be either fighting or watching this event take
place. Now, imagine yourself as a 6 year old at baseball
practice, looking up and seeing a "mob" coming your way, complete with
cussing and punching.
The second time I called EPD involved several youth who continued to
make "sexual" references towards my 11 year old daughter as they played
basketball. Again, we were on the baseball field across the
street from the court. After the first comments I walked across
to the court and asked the boys to quit shouting out at my
daughter. As I turned my back to return to the baseball field I
heard one of the boys tell me to, "suck his @#$%." I simply took
out my cell phone and called EPD. Officers responded within
minutes and the shouting ceased.
I don't care how you raise your children, but by God you will NOT speak
to my children that way. In addition, I will NOT tolerate 6 year
olds being witness to gang fights, thugery and cussing. Now I
hope you understand why there is a "game camera" at the basketball
court. When individuals are unable to police themselves, then
they must be policed. If ever there was a more graphic difference
between two types of peoples, in Edgefield County concerning the
individuals who play at the basketball court and the ones who utilize
the baseball fields, I would love to see it.
Keep the camera up.

All these folks with their requests for
county money should look for stimulus money. It is out there and a lot
is not spent. Let Piedmont Tech go for that money and leave Edgefield
county alone. Sounds like they don't even really need it. Obviously if
some of their leadership do not see a need for current patrol cars,
they must not live in Edgefield county or they have their heads in the
sand.
As far as the person who claims the polls show Americans still blame
Bush for our economic mess, they too must have their head in the sand.
Do they not see the protests going on? Do they not see how much money
this administration is spending now and in the future? Do they not see
the taxes coming down the pike for all of us? Get off the blame Bush
train and see what is currently going on. Bush made some mistakes in
this area but Obama has taken those mistakes and built on them. We need
to deal with the "now" and not the "then". That is why there is such an
outrage in this country and what is going on currently in DC. Just wait
for Cap and Trade and Amnesty. All of it is going to just fuel the
fires.
Our Senator Lindsey Graham has been supportive of both Cap and Trade
and Amnesty in the past. We better make our voices heard to him and
make sure he represents his state in these areas. Recall is always a
possibility.

I really don't know where to start, well
yes i do! Do you have any idea or any reasoning why there's a "Game

was a misunderstanding over in that area during the last baseball
season. Where anyone that caused that misunderstanding arrested or
brought up on charges? Maybe or maybe not; at the same time the
basketball court was closed down for some period of time. A public
basketball court closed. What a shame! The public had to go up to the
police department to get a key to unlock a public basketball court. Do
anybody have to go uptown to get a key for the soccer field or the
Edgefield Gym. That's a whole different story. I guess the point i am
trying to make is that a game camera is to watch game such as deer and
turkey, not people we already play in cage or as viewed from the
public"inside a fence". WOW! In closing the future of Edgefield County
is in trouble no matter what race steps inside the cage looking out or
outside looking in!

The industries that would look at locating
in Edgefield have to be smart enough to check things out on their own
without depending on Edgefield Daily. The leadership in Edgefield is
obvious when you look at the decisions they make. All Edgefield Daily
does is shine more light on what is going on but the decisions speak
for themselves-example the Calliham decision. The heads of industry are
smarter than the average bear, or you would hope so, and I bet they can
see Edgefield leadership for what it is.
As far as Piedmont Tech goes, I say let them focus on Greenwood. It is
not that far away. Peidmont doesn't offer the taxpayers any type of
revenue and they just ask for more money. My only experience with them
was to try to check on classes and I could not find a human being in
the place to even answer a question. I guess I should have driven to
Greenwood. Aiken Tech is a good option also. I think with Edgefield's
money issues, Piedmont is just a drain on our economy. I get tired of
all the people with their hands out.
I also don't think we should support things like statues, history
achieves etc. We just cannot afford those kinds of luxuries right now.
We have enough of that at the national level. Hopefully our new
administrator and the two sane members of county council (Genia
Blackwell and Rodney Ashcraft) will be able to protect this county from
these types of uneccessary expenses.

Harris poll shows that most people blame
George W. Bush for the bad economy. Which destroys the spin from
O'Reilly, Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Fox News, etc. That it hurts Obama
and the Democrats. Because only 14% of the people blame Obama, which
you never hear from O'Reilly.
The poll shows that 31 percent said Bush bears the responsibility,
followed by Wall Street at 25 percent. While only 14 percent blamed
President Obama.
Pollster Louis Harris wrote that Bush and "the state of the economy he
left as part of his legacy still sticks in the craw of Americans."
This poll has never been reported on the Factor, and never will be.
Because it proves that most people still blame Bush for the bad
economy. And it also proves O'Reilly is biased to the right, because a
real journalist would report this poll, and tell the American people
what it says.
O'Reilly does not report it because he wants you to blame Obama for the
bad economy, he wants people to think Obama is to blame, so it will
hurt his approval ratings, and hurt the Democrats in the mid-term
elections this fall.
Which is dishonest partisan journalism, but nothing new for O'Reilly,
it's business as usual on the Factor
Editor's note: Perhaps you should check with the most respected in
polling, Rasmussen, to get your figures.
While many voters seem to be punishing incumbent
Democrats so far for the country’s continuing economic problems, 52%
say America’s economic problems are due to the recession that began under President Bush.
Thirty-nine percent (39%) say Obama’s policies are more to blame.
Voters still overwhelmingly place the economy above all
other key issues regularly tracked by Rasmussen Reports in terms of
importance. But they're closely divided over which party to trust more when it comes to the economy:
46% trust Republicans more, while 42% trust Democrats.
<> Seventy-five percent (75%) of voters now say they
are angry at the government’s current policies,
including 45% who are Very Angry, a nine-point increase since September.

Editor's note: I don't hate any private business, I am a capitalist.
(PTC is classified as a business, by the way, not a school) However I
am also a realist. Taxpayers funds should follow the logical process
when allocation of taxpayers dollars are undertaken:
1. Fund county needs, most notably employees and law enforcement.
2. Show appreciation to county employees by providing cost of living
raises if possible.
If there is enough in increased revenues (not reserve funds) to provide
for grants to non governmental entities, distribute those funds
accordingly. If not, tough. Nobody said life is fair and we should not
pay for your hobbies, desires, or wishes because you think your group
is so important to you and the world. It's not.
I hate to break the news to you, but there are 25,000 people in this
county, and all combined those seeking free money account for, at best,
a few hundred people. How is that the responsiblity of the other 24,700
taxpayers to provide for you when it takes away from services that are

In another matter, it has now been revealed that PTC did not ask for

full well the county is in worse shape this year than last year. You
just have to love the compassion these people have for the taxpayers of

they said so.
Having a child that attended PTC for a semester (until it was found to

state of Edgefield county. With property values dropping, and thus tax
assessments lower (or should be), not a lot of opportunities for sales
tax revenue etc. it doesn't look good for the future. The decision to
cut non profits is interesting. Does that mean there won't be money
given to the $70,000 dollar statue or the Thompkins library? Maybe that
is good if we are tightening our belts on things that are not
necessities. I think we need to think about our needs and not our wants
or our pet projects. Things like ambulances, jobs etc are needs, not
wants. It is time this county started to prioritize what is important
to all the citizens. I applaud the new administrator for taking the

grass roots, Tea Party movement?
Editor's note: First, they never said the TEA Party wanted to repeal
Social Security, they said they, individually, agreed with the
suggestion by Mr. King. Having said that, I would ask what Social
Security? There is no money left. As of this month SS is paying out
more than it is taking in and will only grow deeper in debt just like
all government "entitlements". Congress has raided the so-called "trust

Democrats have created another "entitlement" (ObamaCare) that the
country can't afford. Where will the insanity end?

I happen to know Scott Mims, and he is a great guy who does nothing but

The statement above taken from a post yesterday just shows that the
person who wrote does not know the significance of coffee. The
colonists protested the tax on tea, so they boycotted drinking tea, and
instead drank coffee. This is one reason why coffee gained in
popularity as a morning beverage in the colonies and even today.

Effective Immediately:
All classes held at the Edgefield County Center for Summer and Fall
have been removed from the Schedule. As such you will not be able
to register any students for classes being held at the Center other
than Pottery.
This action is a consequence of the Edgefield County Council not
including operating funding for the Center in their budget. As we
are now registering for Summer and Fall term we do not want to register
students for classes there.
This is what happens when we do not get the support from the county we
need. What happened to the importance of educating our
citizens? Does the county administrator and council not see how
important education is to the future growth of our county.
Piedmont Technical College has offered a great asset and drawing card
to our community by establishing a community college right here
in our own home town. As citizens of our county and leaders of
our community, I ask that you voice your concerns with the county not
supporting a college education.
Editor's note: The purported release of the cancellation of classes
stated above has not been confirmed as coming from PCT. However, if
true, who would support keeping classes for a hobby ongoing while
removing educational classes and claiming the removal of "educational
classes" is related to the county budget cuts?
If PCT Edgefield is concerned about higher education of students, those
signing up to play in the mud should be the ones cut, not those trying
to further their education. If the directive is true, it looks far
worse upon those running PCT than it does on the Edgefield County
Administrator or the County Council.
The county cannot provide funds to replace aging patrol cars for the
Edgefield County Sheriff's Deputies. I'd prefer deputies having the
equipment they need to do their job to protect all citizens than a
handfull of retired people having something to do in their spare time.

Correction-it is not the Repub party of
tea, it is the Tea Party. Did you know there is a group that started a
coffee party? It just shows that these people do not know the
significance of tea and taxes in our history. I just have to chuckle.
Also, the comment about fear-you bet real Americans are fearful. They
are afraid of losing their country and all that it means. How do you
turn a blind eye to the criminal, unconstitutional activities going on
in this current administration? Either they don't know what the
Constitution actually says or they don't care. Again, maybe it is a
lack of knowledge about American history. Also, as far as a false sense
of safety under President Bush-gee, I don't remember any other attacks
on our soil under his leadership. I did feel safe because I was. This
President just goes around apologizing and showing how weak he is as a
leader-doesn't make me feel one bit safe. Now with Iran's new
capability I really don't feel safe. Yet he just keeps insulting
Israel. What a guy.
The "violence" with the Tea Party may be a few fringe people but not
the group as a whole. Some of these accusations are unsubstantiated and
may have been instigated by the other side. They have to discredit the
real Americans in some way or another. After all, the real core of this
country stands in the way of their agenda. President Bush was attacked
and attacked by liberals with very hateful things. Maybe people forget
that. He is a class act though-he didn't have to keep making speeches
to defend himself.
If this administration is so great and doing such great things for the
country, why does Obama have to keep talking and talking and talking
trying to justify it all? Shouldn't we be seeing the results? Actually
that is the problem, we are seeing the results but unfortunately the
results are bad for us, good for his agenda.
The people of this country are not stupid and Obama and crew have
awakened a sleeping giant.
This is America, founded on specific principles. We need to get back to
the real core of what this country was founded on. Right now we have
people in office just doing whatever they want and thinking they are
above the rule of law. That is scary.

Lake Murray or in Edgefield County along the Savannah River. These two
would require pipelines to be built, but think of the job creation and
