Looks
like NA (North Augusta) is planning

Editor's note: We have followed this for seven years (actually eleven).
This plan was fostered by the Edgefield County Council of 1999-2000 as
the "Martintown Road Corridor Plan". Part of that plan was to zone
Merriwether. Since then it has provided the cover North Augusta needed
to push its expansion into our county.
Though officials denied this
Editor's column, they could not, and cannot, refute the facts. To
date, North Augusta owns over 500 acres in Merriwether inside Edgefield

Note the Difference
George W. Bush: Speech after capture of Saddam:
The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women
now serving in Iraq . The operation was based on the superb work of
intelligence analysts who found the dictator's footprints in a vast
country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a
brave fighting force. Our service men and women and our coalition
allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen
regime, and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the
Iraqi people. Their work continues, and so do the risks. Today, on
behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our Armed Forces and I
congratulate 'em.
Barack Obama: speech after killing of bin Laden:
And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the
director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the
top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our
broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network. Then,
last August, after years of painstaking work by my intelligence
community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far
from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I
met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more
information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding
within a compound deep inside of Pakistan. And finally, last week, I
determined that I had enough intelligence to take action, and I
authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to
justice. Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted
operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
And there you have it!!!
Editor's note: You are surprised that our Narcissist in Chief uses the
work "I" every time he speaks when he should be talking about others?
When he thanked the CIA he said "I" 37 times.

he was reconsidering and may stay. Interesting since he said he
was resigning because he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Editor's note: I did not contact Chief Aston over the weekend, he needs

MEMORIAL DAY
MAY 30, 2011
IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Lt. Col. John McCrae (1872-1918)

I'll add my 2 cents on Chief Aston
resigning. I agree with Mr. Burton. The whole town council should
discuss it and if they don't want to accept the resignation THEN the
mayor can try to talk him out of it or try to strike a deal. Leaving
the council out of the deal is wrong. Andy (Livingston) may be mayor

Isn't it amazing that, within only one
week of Tiger Woods crashing his Escalade, the press found every woman
with whom Tiger has had an affair during the last few years? And, they
even uncovered photos, text messages, recorded phone calls, etc.!
Furthermore, they not only know the cause of the family fight, but they
even know it was a wedge from his golf bag that his wife used to break
out the windows in the Escalade. Not only that, they know which
wedge! And, each & every day, they were able to continue to
provide America with updates on Tiger's sex rehab stay, his wife's
plans for divorce, as well as the dates & tournaments in which he
will play.
Now, Barack Hussein Obama has been in office for two years, yet this
very same press:
Cannot find any of his childhood friends or neighbors;
Or find any of Obama's high school or college classmates;
Or locate any of his college papers or grades;
Or determine how he paid for both a Columbia & a Harvard education;
Or discover which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the
1980's;
Or even find Michelle Obama's Princeton thesis on racism.
They just can't seem to uncover any of this. Yet, the public
still trusts that same press to give them the whole truth!
Simply amazing, isn't it?

I have to agree with Burton, and by the
way, I am white. The “mare” said that after getting the chief’s

Re: the question that an increase in the
number of churches would have increased the crime rate.
This is absurd. Seems like an increase in churches just means the
population has increased in an area. More people means more need for
churches. With an increase in population, seems like the crime
rate would go up. More people means more chance of crime.
Editor's note: That was the basis of my original comment (which has
been distorted by others) showing how the findings of studies can be
skewed to fit any agenda...as was displayed yesterday by one of our
liberal readers blaming the crime on Catholic Priests. The same study
also showed that the number of fire stations built during the study
period also increased with the crime rate.
These type stuidies done for crime rates show no cause / effect
relationships. It is just numbers.

Editor's note: At this time the person reporting the crime has not been
proven to be misleading police. He is just being uncooperative. With no
other leads to follow in the case, the Edgefield Police have closed the
case until new information or leads come in. If they are able to prove
the victim is not telling the truth, he will be charged with a felony

It is distressing to learn that another
dubiously competent one in the district is being promoted to a position
of higher authority. It is a newly created position, but we can't
afford to hire teachers. Also, how about them adding a third

Bye edgefield county school district.....
Will someone please look into why so many teachers are
leaving. Many teachers have not told the district yet but
it is coming. I am a good teacher. I care about the
students. But I do not have to endure day after day the
rudeness and antagonism from students for the minor salary Edgefield
offers. I feel there is not leadership. You can have people
in leadership position but not truly get the job done. I have
invested time and money in the pursuit of giving my all to the
job. I personally have children ranging from
elementary to high school. If they behave even remotely
like some of the kids at my school ...I would take away many
privileges.( including having all he flesh on their backside if you get
the jest)
I know that all school districts have their problems but I am glad that
mine are somewhere else. It wasn't that I initially kept
them from Edgefield but now I would never let them enter.
There are many fine students in the county but I would guess that those
who complete graduation and go to higher academia are below 20% of the
total leaving high school.
The district has many fine teachers but we are all getting tired of
students not being held accountable. Good luck
Edgefield. I have found a job that pays more and offers
less disrespect.
I pray for the children.... many times they are the product of their
parents decisions.

I would really love to see the statistics
on welfare between blacks and whites. I just cant believe that
there more whites on welfare than blacks. I mean I know for a
fact that a white person in the same situation as a black was denied
cause the white person made to much money and the black person was
accepted. They made the same thing with the same number of kids; now
you tell me.
Editor's note: The overall numbers are about right. However, when
considered with the population distributions (blacks making up around
12-15% of the population), they are over represented in the figures
much the same way they are around 40% +/- of the prison population.I do
not think this is as much a "race" problem as I do a cultural problem
for the black community. The majority of crimes against blacks are
committed by blacks, not whites.
You can skew any statistic to fit your agena. A study years ago on area
growth rates showed that the addition of new churches to suburban areas
is followed by an increase in crime.
Do the churches increase crime or is it the fact there is a population
growth that increases the crime?

????????????????????
I would say that there is a certain section of our population that
indeed fits into this category. From my viewpoint, these are people who
have been in the cycle of generational poverty for generations. They
are taught to live off the government, look for a free handout, not be
appreciative of what other do for them, and that it's cooler to dress
nice than live in a nice house. I see that there is a segment of the
overall American population that you are referring to, so this is in
fact a truth.
On the other hand, I have to say that you cannot lump all people into
one category. I think you need to learn to judge people not by how they
look, but by "what they bring to the table." You keep talking about
"sorry black people," but did you know that the majority of people on
welfare in SC are white? I suggest you rethink your stance and consider
developing an issue with a thought pattern that has been perpetuated by
our government, instead of blaming a person's color. Just a
thought...........

You have to admit one thing about Obama-he
can sure talk his way out of a paper bag! Listening to his talk to the
"pro Israel" group yesterday, one would think he actually supported
Israel. His move last week to go back to the pre 1967 borders shows
where his support is. Anyone who has watched how the Palestinians etc.
have acted with Israel, knows that Israel is not going to get one
thing out of that deal. The Arabs do not want Israel to be a sovereign
state. Their goal is to eliminate Israel. Obama's suggestion makes that
more of a possibility. Going back to the old borders leaves Israel
totally vulnerable to her enemies. No wonder other administrations have
not come out with this great suggestion. They knew better. Obama
says that everyone has thought it but he is finally the one to say it.
Ya think? No. Other administrations know that what happened in
1967 is key to Israel's survival. That is why it is such a point of
contention between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
The "pro Israel" group he was speaking to yesterday is a liberal group
and, as he acknowledged in his speech, many (probably most) were
students. No wonder he had rounds of applause. Did he look and sound
good? Yes, to anyone who really doesn't care or understand Israel's
situation. Was he doing damage control? Absolutely. Did he
maintain some of his Jewish financial support? Probably. Is he a
supporter of Israel? No way! Any Jew that sends him money or
supports him in any way should be ashamed of themselves. He threw
Israel under the bus and a lot of Jews in this country have and are
helping him do that. How they cannot see what he is doing to their
people is beyond me!
Thankfully the leadership in Israel knows what is going on and is
speaking out about it. We do not want to turn our backs on Israel. They
are our only ally in the middle east. Also, biblically, we definitely
do not want to turn our back on Israel. Maybe this is all playing to
what will happen in the end times. Who knows. For the present, we want
to be a real friend to Israel.

Editor's note: In private conversations prior to Aston's resignation he
was emphatic he has no ambitions of running for elected office,
including Sheriff. He also stated that on the record. There will be

Dear Editor,
As the poster who defended the Rural Residential Zone, I must clarify
that I am not in favor of imposing limits on landowners outside of the
zone. My post was based the erroneous and/or conflicting news
blurb in Edgefield Daily that stated:
Notice: Public Hearing Date Changed to June 2
web posted May 17, 2011
COUNTY – A Public Hearing scheduled by the Planning Commission to take
place on May 31 has been changed to June 2, Edgefield County
Administrator Roger LeDuc stated Monday. The public hearing is to
receive comments on a possible zoning change to a tract of land on
Courtney Road, Trenton. The hearing will be held at the County Council
Chambers on Jeter Street at 6:30 pm. There will also be a called
meeting of the Planning Commission immediately following. The public is
invited to attend.
That post clearly indicated the contested property was on Courtney
Road, thus my diatribe.
You forgive my mistake, I'll forgive yours.
Editor's note: There is no mistake on my part. The parcel under
question is zoned under the R/Rd zone created for your area to fend off
a "chicken farm" that even the zoning would not prevent when it was
passed. That aside, every contiguous property (and that of the possible
industry) in unzoned. The property in question is simply an access
point. It is stated as being "opposite Courtney Road".

Remember how Bill O'Reilly asked viewers
to log in and vote on who won the debate he had just had with Jon
Stewart over Fox's lame "Common controversy" the other night? Well, it
didn't turn out so well for BillO.
O'Reilly sorta kinda halfway copped to it at the end of his show last
night, responding to one the usual fawning letter writers he reads at
the end of each night. It seems the outcome was the fault of us dirty
f--ing hippies:
O'REILLY: Randy DeFord, Monticello, Indiana: "Bill, the debate with
Stewart was great. Too bad he lost." Well, you know, lots of folks
think he won, Randy. But it's impossible to get an accurate tally,
because some far-left Websites have intruded on our poll. I thought
that might happen. It is entirely my fault. But the results are skewed.
You know, they tell their Night of the Living Dead people -- uuggghhh,
go -- you know, all of that.
Notice that Bill didn't bother to tell you the actual numbers. Of
course, if you go to his website, here's what you see:
Stewart 79%
O'Riellly 21%
Yep, that's pretty much what we thought, too. And no, it wasn't
anything we said or did. There might have been other sites organizing a
GOTV operation on O'Reilly's website, but those results probably came
pretty much naturally.
Editor's note: Wow, O'Reilly actually said "F--ing hippies"? No, he
didn't. I ran the video and that was never said. Why not come back with
the lie that Obama is trying to do Israel a favor by giving away their
land to support the Muslim Brotherhood whose stated purpose is to wipe

Everyone is bubbling about the prospects
of the new, "clean" industry that wants to move into the sole area of
the county zoned Rural Residential. Newcomers to Edgefield and to
the County Council would
be wise to familiarize themselves with the facts surrounding the zone
before they commit.
Back in 2004 it was announced that a "clean chicken farm" was coming to
Courtney Road. Concerned citizens started researching and
discovered a flock of lies and omissions on the DHEC permit. A
stay
was granted by the state Administrative Law Court to examine the
charges. During that stay, an intensive grass roots efforts
gathered near unanimous support of the citizens in the area.
Every Planning and Zoning and County Council meeting was packed with
opponents of the planned business. Deputies had to be called to
many of the meetings as the Big Chicken Industry brought in their
shills and lobbyists to try to break the spirit of the people.
The people's persistence persevered despite all the well orchestrated
roadblocks.
The Planning and Zoning Commission, with input from the citizens,
created the zone that once and for all ruled out such fowl industries
in the area. County Council three times unanimously approved
the
zone that went into effect five years ago.
Now we're being told to trust the wisdom of our politicians - we're
sure to like the secret, clean industry that will create jobs.
There are clearly better suited business locations in unzoned areas of
the county. This looks like a chance for politicians in other
areas of the county to crush zoning for all time by putting a ruled-
out industry smack in the heart of the zone.
Politicians Beware! The people in this area will not get fooled
again. Consider moving the business to a location away from the
heart of the hard fought for zone. Granting a variance on
Courtney Road will be a dart to that heart and break the zone wide open.
Councilmen Dorn and Bright never wavered in their support for the
people in the area. Their votes were for the people every time.
Former Chariman Kneece - same. If Mr. Campbell votes against
the
will of his people in the zone he can kiss his job goodbye in the next
election. The other two Council persons should think twice before
going on record against the overwhelming will of the people.
The wisest course for the Council would be to announce the name of the
business and schedule public meetings before granting a first reading
to blow a hole in the center of the zone. Any other option
is a shot across the bow of hundreds of well prepared, motivated voters.
One thing for sure, Council meetings are about to get exciting again!
Editor's note: Let me understand this on the facts. The industry is
looking at locating on unzoned property and you want to deter then from
coming to the county - even though you know nothing about them?
Let me know when you get tired of the near 10% unemployment rate in
Edgefield County and the lack of an industrial tax base which all
counties need to survive.

First teachable moment in this situation
is that honesty will always prevail. The dog owners (both husband
and wife) were honest that their big white dog did walk on land that
was not owned by her owners any longer. She had no understanding
of where property lines fell, and this was acknowledged by the Judge on
this matter. Let it be known the complainers in this issue
did not know where property lines were either because they were
trespassing with their body and equipment on numerous occasions.
The truth about this dog was she was very shy when it came to
people. She would not have come near a party of any kind.
And yes, for 6 years of her life she had not been confined. But
she had never in any manner been a threat or nuisance. And anyone
interested in knowing the dog owners plead guilty and paid a $75.00
fine. It seems though that some had no patience to wait on this
court session on the 18th because the big white dog was poisoned with
anti-freeze on the 13th and had to be put down on the 15th. But
more truth to this matter is one of the owners other dogs was poisoned
with anti-freeze on the 15th and due to she was so small died within
five hours. She went out for just a few minutes while the owners were
trying to help the big white dog that was seisuring in their home due
to the poison. This was made known to animal control first thing Monday
morning. Response was it was still owners fought because someone
could have anti-freeze anywhere on their property. This is not
true, anti-freeze is a hazardous material and DHEC does have
regulations that it be in a closed container. Truth; malicious,
cruel, no-heart people living in our area.

Published on DickMorris.com on May 19, 2011
In the 1980s, the pre-Blair leftist Labor Party issued its campaign
manifesto to oppose Thatcher's Conservatives in the coming national
election. Its loony, leftist proposals were so extreme that the
Tory media promptly dubbed it "the longest suicide note in history."
The Republican proposal to shift Medicare from the current system to a
voucher-based program of private insurance - in TEN years - falls into
the same category. Don't blame Newt Gingrich for saying so.
In fact, we have to hope that Romney, Bachmann, Daniels and the other
candidates join him in distancing himself from the plan if we have a
hope of electing any of them president!
Worse, the Ryan budget continues the $500 billion in Medicare cuts
which formed the basis of the Republican critique of Pelosi and Obama
in the 2010 election. It keeps the money in the Medicare system
rather than spending it on other entitlements as Obama did, but that is
scant compensation for someone seeking care now to stay alive!
(When I first endorsed Ryan's plan in a column and video, I was under
the impression - as he had told me - that he would eliminate the $500
billion cut. I must have misunderstood him because his plan keeps
that very cut on which we based our entire 2012 campaign. When I
found that out, I switched to opposing his plan).
Gingrich was entirely correct in denouncing this part of the Ryan
Budget. The rest of the document is fine. But Obama has, as
we predicted he would, focused all his fire on the Medicare portion and
that is what the campaign of 2012 will be about - unless the GOP
candidate for president disavows the plan.
And the height of lunacy is that the Medicare voucher-based conversion
is slated to take effect in a decade! Who can predict how
medicine will evolve next week let along a decade hence? To hold
the Republican Party's political fortunes hostage to a program that
might or might not take effect in a decade is pure insanity.
So Gingrich called it what it is - "right wing social
engineering." Granted, Paul Ryan has the best of
intentions. He wants to keep the Medicare system solvent in the
face of escalating costs, but even he concedes that changing Medicare
is not necessary over the next nine years to reduce the budget
deficit. It is only in 2021, when those who are now 55 turn to
Medicare that he would effect his changes. The House should drop
the Medicare part of the program, repeal the $500 billion cut that the
Republicans vilified in the campaign, and go ahead and implement the
rest of the Ryan budget.
Newt has acted responsibly and in the best interests of the Party by
describing accurately what the stakes are. Don't blame him.
Honor him for saying and doing the right thing.

combined into this single response. If any question is left unanswered,
please feel free to submit if for publication. This was easier than
responding to numerous repetitive questions. Those listed with similar
questions have been reworded for clarification.
Q: What type of industry is going to be locating in Edgefield County?
A: That is unknown. County Administrator Roger LeDuc said that it was a
"clean" industry and would be a "good neighbor" to the surrounding area.
Q: Where will the site be located?
A: Off Highway 19 east of Trenton.
Q: How many jobs will it bring to the county?
A: That has not yet been released. However, Administrator LeDuc stated
at the Planning Commission meeting last week that it would be jobs that
could be filled by local residents.
Q: When will the name and location be released?
A: When the County Council holds a first reading of an ordinance to
grant the incentives to bring the industry here, the name and location
will be provided as well as detailed information on the company.
Until then - we all remain in the dark.

A DemocRAT that is crooked as a snake.
While Democrats rip into oil and gas companies for failing to pay their
"fair share" because of tax breaks Congress gave them, another special
interest break they're not talking about is the billions of dollars
worth of gold, silver, uranium and other minerals that mining companies
take off federal lands for which they pay nothing.
"They don't pay a dime, not a penny for the gold and uranium they
remove from public lands," says Steve Ellis of Taxpayers for Common
Sense. "Virtually every other country in world charges a royalty on
hard rock minerals. It is absurd that we don't do this."
Both mining and oil companies pay corporate taxes, and both get
generous write-offs in the tax code.
But mining companies get two huge subsidies oil companies do not:
leases and royalties.
Mining entities pay no more than $5 an acre for land from which they
extract billions of dollars worth of minerals. By contrast,
multinational oil and gas firms are required to competitively bid
against one another just for the right to drill on specific leases.
Those bids typically pay taxpayers from tens to hundreds of millions of
dollars.
A royalty or fee represents an annual percentage the federal government
charges based on the value of the resource extracted from public lands.
For oil and other fuel sources, the numbers are in the double-digits.
The government receives 12.5 percent in royalties for onshore oil and
gas while the royalties for offshore drilling amount to 18.75 percent.
For coal, that number is 8 percent for underground mining and 12.5
percent for surface mining.
For gold, silver, uranium and copper mining: 0 percent
Reformers in Congress tried to raise the last figure but failed.
In 1993, the House passed a bill imposing an 8 percent royalty, but
Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., helped kill an agreement in the Senate. In
2007, West Virginia Rep. Nick Rahall helped pass a bill in the House
that imposed a 4 percent royalty on gross revenue on existing
operations and 8 percent on new operations. Again REID stepped in,
saying the House bill "won't stand over here."
"When you talk about collecting a royalty off the top, irrespective of
production costs, that is an unsustainable situation," said Carol
Raulston of the National Mining Association.
In 2008, according to the National Mining Association, about $20
billion worth of metals were sold in the U.S. from mines here covered
by existing law. With a 4 percent royalty, that translates into at
least a $4 billion in payments for minerals owned by U.S. taxpayers.
"This is a pirate story with the public lands profiteers robbing the
American people blind," Rahall said in November 2007. "The robbery of
American gold and silver must stop."
But it hasn't.
Since taking office, REID has received $750,000 in campaign
contributions from the mining industry, according to the Center for
Responsive Politics. That number includes $127,000 from Nevada's two
largest gold producers in the 2010 election. Together, those two
companies had profits of $5 billion last year yet they paid taxpayers
nothing for minerals taken off public lands.
"Senator Reid through the years has aligned himself with those
interests to thwart mining law reforms time and time again," Ellis said.
While Ellis and others blame REID, the mining association is happy to
have him in their corner.

A man in Topeka , Kansas decided to write
a book about churches around the country. He started by flying to
San Francisco and started working east from there. Going to a
very large church, he began taking photographs and making notes. He
spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with
a sign, which read "Calls: $10,000 a minute."
Seeking out the pastor, he asked about the phone and the sign. The
pastor answered that this golden phone is, in fact, a direct line to
heaven and if he pays the price he can talk directly to GOD,
The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way. As he
continued to visit churches in Seattle, Houston (Mississippi of
course), St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, and many cities and towns all
around the United States, he found more phones, with the same sign, and
the same answer from each pastor.
Finally, he arrived in Lexington. Upon entering a church in the
beautiful State of South Carolina behold… he saw the usual golden
telephone. But THIS time, the sign read "Calls: 35 cents."
Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor. "Reverend, I have been in
cities all across the country and in each church I have found this
golden telephone and have been told it is a direct line to Heaven and
that I could talk to GOD, but in the other churches the cost was
$10,000 a minute.
Your sign reads only 35 cents a call. Why?”
I love this part…
The pastor, smiling broadly replied: "Son, you're in South Carolina now
- you're in God's Country. It's a local call." American by Birth -
South Carolinian by the Grace of God. And why do South
Carolinians go barefoot? When you're in South Carolina you're on Holy

I read that Clemson has raised tuition
3.8% this year and room and board 4%. This on top of the 7% tuition
increase last year. My favorite statement is from Board Chairman
David Wilkins who says the decision shows the board is sensitive to
economic conditions facing South Carolina families. so a 10.8 percent
tuition increase in 2 years and 4 percent room and board increase is
sensitive to families needs? isn't it ironic that they managed to
get the larger tuition increase they wanted last year, but was
denied. I believe we call it creative bookkeeping. while not
illegal, the state had to see this coming.their idea to keep
tuition from larger increases just allows them to raise it
up to 7 percent every year with no one to answer to. again, I am so
grateful that our state colleges are so concerned about the financial
conditions facing families in South Carolina because they have priced
the poor and lower middle class right out of a major college
experience..apparently the poor or lower middle class are only
worthy of attending local colleges or technical schools. a
student after receiving life scholarship , pell and state grants you
would still need 2 loans to cover the cost of a major university in SC.
my son attended the University of Kansas last year for $7,500 with room
and board as a INSTATE student (his dad is a Kansas resident).can
someone please explain to me why SC cant educate for less
than $30,000 per student ? will our state ever put education as a
top priority or will we continue to price our kids out of a future?

Were you aware that the DREAM Act requires
the Department of Homeland Security to award amnesty to every illegal
alien claiming to meet minimal criteria:
1.. Present in the U.S. for the last five years;
2.. A U.S. high school diploma or GED, or admitted to a
U.S.institution of higher learning; and
3.. Of "good moral character" with no more than 2 misdemeanor
convictions?
Once an illegal alien files an amnesty application, he or she cannot be
removed from the United States for any reason pending a decision from
the courts? And we know how long they take.
All amnesty applications go to the front of the line for processing, by
passing millions of people who have applied legally to come to the
United States?
And here is the biggest outrage proposed with this bill. I'm sure
you've seen on the liberal propaganda machine lately all the talking
heads saying that this bill will allow illegal aliens to become
citizens if they just attend college or join the military for two
years. You do realize who is going to be paying for them right? YOU!
That's right. The sons and daughters of criminals, rapist, drug
dealers, and the like will be bank rolled to go to college, for free,
BY YOU! Meanwhile with the astronomical costs of college reaching sky
high you will struggle to get your OWN children into college, if you
even can!
But you didn't think they would actually require illegal aliens to live
up to any part of this did you? The truth is there are provisions in
the bill that allow illegal aliens to OPT OUT OF THE COLLEGE AND
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS! That's right, they get amnesty, for free, no
requirements at all. All they have to do is opt out! Now that is the
slimy, unjust, treatment that we are used to from the snakes in
Washington.
The DREAM Act is the last ditch effort of a defeated and humiliated
Liberal political machine. They were destroyed in the November
elections. Their time has come and gone, and they know it. But instead
of having dignity and honor they are using this as their last chance to
shove some more of THEIR agenda down your throats. They know their
policies aren't wanted, that's why they've been voted out. But they
still continue to undermine the democratic process with what should be
considered a criminal offense, the lame duck session.
The American people have spoken but the lawmakers in Washington are
once again ignoring the will of the American people. The landslide
elections that put the house in control of the conservatives is
reminiscent of the previous presidential election. And they called that
one a "mandate". The coming lame duck session will be used to blatantly
undermine the democratic process. These corrupted politicians know
their time is up. They have been voted out, they should have no say.
But instead they are taking advantage of a loophole to once again force
you to listen to them!
Take a stand against this blatant abuse of power! The democracy has
fallen if they pass this bill. We must take it back! Hold the new
representatives feet to the fire! Force them to live up to their
promises, this is their last chance before we lose everything that
makes America great!
Enough is enough! The line has to be drawn! The invasion of America has
to end! Justice has to be done for all the good, honest, Americans who
have been killed, raped, kidnapped, stolen from, and abused by criminal
illegal immigrants! American sovereign territory must be DEFENDED and
HELD SECURE!!
It is a dark time in America; it seems as if our voices aren't being
heard. WE MUST NOT BACK DOWN! The most powerful things you have as a
citizen is your voice and your ballot, even if so far in Washington,
they REFUSE to listen. THE HOUR IS LATE, MAKE THEM HEAR US – it is the
right thing to do!
Help us mobilize common sense, patriotic Americans against this
travesty!! The Obama Administration's plan for Executive Order or USCIS
Action mass Amnesty MUST BE STOPPED!
Remember what is at stake – the security, the safety, the sovereignty –
very possibly the survival of not just Americans, but America herself.

how articulate, educated, experienced an qualified he is, AND that he's
a black man, they will pillary him and call him an Uncle Tom, yadda,
yadda, yadda.
And if that Dream Ticket became a reality-do you know where America

Crenshaw, Jackson and the like, so I can't possibly vote for the
Cain/Condi ticket.
And if Senator Massey is a reader of Wandering Minds - Put forth
legislation to apply standards for hiring and retention of our
teachers. We need to get rid of the dead wood and those just
riding the tide at the expense of taxpayer money, and our children's
education. There are at least a 1/2 dozen I know of that
shouldn't be teaching kindergarten let alone H.S. But they're
there.
Time to clean it up Senator Massey, or we can show you the door as
well. We want people that get things done! We are tired of
the same ole. If legislation is drafted and passed, watch what
teachers squeal. Hey, our children are held to pass a test to get
past 4th and 12th to graduate-teachers need to be held to the same
standard, PERIOD! Time to crank up the machine again and start
cleaning house.
Personally, I'd rather have 30-35 kids to a classroom where a good

Concerned Citizen,
Tuesday President Obama traveled to Texas where he continued his
campaign for 2012 by bringing the DREAM Act back into the spotlight.
The DREAM Act was last year's lame-duck attempt at "comprehensive
immigration reform" which is better known to Democrats as CREATING A
VOTING BLOCK. It is a bill heralded by Harry Reid that will allow the
illegal children of illegal aliens to become citizens of the U.S. Yes,
once again Obama is mugging real American citizens, the U.S. taxpayer,
to bankroll illegals and provide a path to AMNESTY.
Obama appealed to his base referring to the young illegals as the "best
and brightest" going on to say that over 200,000 jobs were created in
recent years by immigrant founded companies. Mr. President, every
company in the United States was founded by an immigrant or child of an
immigrant. Stop insulting legal immigrants and our intelligence. Nobody
has a problem with legal immigrants. The real problems are the ILLEGAL
aliens whose first act on American soil was criminal and the American
people do not want to reward criminal acts with money, benefits or
AMNESTY.
If illegals truly are the "best and brightest" of us then why can't
they fill out the immigration forms to enter the county legally? Abide
by the laws of America – get in line – wait your turn and do not under
any circumstance justify the illegal act of sneaking across the border.
That's really all we ask.
The people of America still believe in the American dream, we want
others to share in it. In fact, we want everyone to share in it! But
cheating the system isn't the American dream and that is exactly what
the DREAM Act does to American citizens and legal immigrants. Make no
mistakes the Democrats want nothing short of instant amnesty for a
large college age, far left leaning, demographic. The big lie about the
DREAM Act is that it grants citizenship instantly THEN those enrolled
in it attend college or join the military for 2 years. It is straight
up amnesty. Dems don't want people to have to fill out the citizenship
forms, they don't want people to have to do something for themselves or
qualify for anything. They want to hand out freebies in order to CREATE
A BASE OF VOTES FOR THEIR UPCOMING ELECTIONS.
Don't allow this farce to continue! Stand up and fight for what makes
America great, LEGAL immigrants! Every immigrant that had the honor of
becoming an American lawfully is disgraced by the DREAM Act nightmare
legislation!
Put an end to the DREAM Act now! Contact your representatives, send
faxes and make the phones ring off the hook and the email inboxes be
jam packed with the message that we honor the law in this country and
that it must be enforced!

Regarding the whole water boarding debate.
Some of our own troops go through water boarding as part of their
training. That tells me that they are going to potentially face that
treatment or worse. If people would listen to the real experts on this
issue AND look at the results of enhanced interrogation, the real
results of it, they might understand that it has contributed to
protecting this country from another attack. Maybe some of these
bleeding hearts were not old enough to see what happened to us on 9/11
and they do not remember the innocent lives lost. Maybe they did not
lose a loved one or are suffering from the health affects that many of
the survivors are suffering from today. Maybe they didn't visit ground
zero and see the devastation these terrorists caused. Maybe they don't
understand the real threat there is to this nation. Remember, this was
an unprovoked attack on our country. We cannot afford to play
nicely. We are at war, folks. We have not had another attack
since then but if we slack off and play into the hands of these
monsters, none of us will be safe. We won't even be safe in our small
little southern town where we are basically sheltered from the
realities of what happened on 9/11. Wake up!! They hate us and
their goal is to destroy us.

Tor·ture –noun: 1. the
act of inflicting excruciating pain, as punishment or revenge, as a
means of getting a confession or information, or for sheer cruelty.
I could go on and on about waterboarding and how we as a country
executed Japanese interviewers for using waterboarding on our
troops. I can talk about how radio talk show hosts Mancow
Mueller and Vanity Fair writer Christopher Hitchens (conservatives)
agreed to be waterboard and after their respective experiments, they
realized that waterboarding is definitely torture. This is
what Mueller had to say about waterboarding: "It is way worse
than I thought it would be, and that's no joke." "I wanted
to prove it wasn't torture," Mancow said. "They cut off our
heads, we put water on their face...I got voted to do this but I really
thought 'I'm going to laugh this off.' " “It was
instantaneous...and I don't want to say this: absolutely
torture." Christopher Hitchens endured the same experiment -- and
came to a similar conclusion. The conservative writer said he found the
treatment terrifying, and was haunted by it for months afterward.
When you have time read the story of Alyssa Peterson. She was one
of the first female soldiers killed (suicide) in Iraq. Upon
further investigation it was proven that she had committed suicide
because she couldn’t participate in the torture being committed by our
people in what they called the cage. One of the most moving parts
of the report is this: "She said that she did not know how to be two
people; she ... could not be one person in the cage and another outside
the wire." She was reprimand for showing empathy to the
prisoners. [Editor's note: unsubstantiated claim]
“Sen. John McCain, the Arizona Republican and former prisoner of war,
said Thursday he doesn’t believe the harsh interrogation techniques
used by the Bush administration played a role in hunting down Osama bin
Laden.” Information from waterboarding did not play any part in
demise of bin Laden. “Sen. McCain said Leon Panetta, director of
the Central Intelligence Agency, told him that the initial disclosure
that lead to the discovery of bin Laden’s courier did not come as a
result of the enhanced techniques.” Here’s the link, please
read it. Methods promoted by Bush and his cohorts had nothing to
do with the capture of bin Laden. (OUCH) http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2011/05/12/mccain-harsh-interrogations-didnt-help-track-down-bin-laden/.

Editor's note: The only thing I'd like to hear from John McCain is,
"I'm retiring". He is a RINO, and a very liberal one at that. As far as
your definition, water-boarding does not inflict any pain, only fear.
Again, keep sending in your comments, it is always encouraging to know

I agree with the poster questioning
government money going to NGO's. The problem with giving our public
funds to these things is that not all of the public agrees with the
positions or projects these groups support. With the pinch on funds
every government is facing, we need to concentrate on government needs
not pet projects. There are a lot of good things out there to support,
but those groups should raise money from the folks that support their
ideas. I am tired of supporting projects I don't agree with, people who
should be working and aren't and things I never signed up to support.
We work hard to balance our personal budget and some frivolous things
need to be cut. Too bad, but too necessary.
I am disturbed that the state spending seems to be more than it should
be. We cannot expect the federal government to cut spending if our
state is out of control. We need this progression in budget control-
personal control, city control, county control, state control and
federal control. It needs to start with us and work all the way up. No
one wants to cut a "good thing" but maybe we really need to look at the
necessary things.
One question-Does anyone really think a video is going to increase
tourism? There needs to be more than a history lesson to get people to
want to come here. The push for tourism seems to be a common
theme in Edgefield. Is that a realistic goal? Just asking.

RE: Editor’s views on torture:
· By the way, seems waterboarding
paid off. Put that in Obama's pipe and let him smoke that. Everything
that Obama railed against gave him the info needed to find and kill
Osama.
· Water
boarding is what got the intel that brought about the location of
Osama. And, most of all, according to the Geneva Convention, terrorist
have no rights and are allowed to be shot on sight, period. Maybe you
should read that as well before you spout off. There is an old saying,
it is better to be thought to be ignorant than to open your mouth and
remove all doubt.
· There is
no use arguing with you on this matter, cite what you willl. the Geneva
Convention does not apply to non-uniformed combatants (ie: terrorists)
and they can be shot on sight or after capture.
(this portion was
removed after it was discovered it never appeared in the Wandering
Minds comments by the editor)
But remember, this
conservation started because you insisted waterboarding was good and
legal by the Geneva Convention when fighting terrorists.
My position has and always will be, torturing does more harm than good
and is not supported by any 'Convention'. But then again, I guess
wandering minds are wandering. But at least you know it is not legal.
Editors note: Everything the Bush Administration did was approved by
the Justice Department. Water boarding is not "torture", regardless of
what the liberal state controlled media says.Obama would not have
located Osama without the enhanced techniques used by the US. We never
cut off anyone's head, as the terrorists did, or kill others or drag
their dead bodies out in public to be burned in celebration of their
capture and killing. And these are the ones you want to proclaim as
being justified.

front entrance...no luck...Also asked several students if there was a
meeting or any congregation of adults...no luck...Perhaps some signs or
something for us who are not familiar with the interior of the high
school...No signs, no directions...NADA...By the way, the students I
asked were very courteous and helpful...Very nice young men and women.
Sorry I missed the meeting...By the way, I didn't see any other adults
wandering around lost either and there was no grouping of cars, so I
guess our dear editor's comments are justified despite my inability to
find the meeting...
I will pose one question here to Sen. Massey...What can we do to
restrict Non Government Organizations (NGOs) from receiving government
money ?
As a philisophical argument...Why are we using tax money to fund NGOs
on Federal, State, and Local levels...The most egregious example is
Planned Parenthood...whixh is nothing but a murder mill...I know, I
used to work with people who used to work there...But...
But, on the local level, the examples are not as bloody, but
unjustified as well...Our County and City councils deal with monetary
demands from Geneology library people, Women in Unity, and other groups
I can't even figure out what the money is for...
Our most recent example of this madness is the Edgefield City Council
passing a hospitality tax of 2% on restaurant meals and 3% on
accomodations...Supposedly the tax was first floated to "Balance the
Budget", then it was revealed that it was to "Promote Tourism"...Oh,
Gee, Wow...Now who exactly is going to get all this largesse from the
public trough...NGOs...
Remember the $12,000.00 seven (7) minute CD that was recently proposed
to Edgefield City Council...I bet that little turkey rears it's ugly
little head again...
To paraphrase Gov. Haley, "Just because you got an "R" behind your
name, doesn't mean you're necessarily a conservative"...Edgefield City
Council, and it's MASSA, could compete with Nancy Pelosi, President
Obama, and Norman Dorn on spending money...
If this hooey keeps, I'm gonna propose that we have a street festival
with FREE BEER...Now THAT would help tourism...
Editor's note: I will admit that there were no signs posted on the
doors. However, if you had entered the building and entered the
cafeteria (to the left) you would have found the meeting. I know that
Sen. Massey reads the Wandering Minds and your message will be read by

Just in case you believe that Article 3 in
the Geneva Convention Article 3 does not ban torture of terrorists
(which it has been noted to include terrorist if they hail from a
signing state), I will direct you to the following law passed by
the United States. CONVENTION AGAINST TORTURE and Other Cruel,
Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. http://www.hrweb.org/legal/cat.html.
It
was
ratified
by
our
country
on
October
21,
1994.
Even
though
we
want
to
torture
terrorists,
this
Charter
along
with
the
Geneva
Convention
require
all
of
its
signing
parties
to ban torture of any
kind. It is strongly believed that torturing will only bring more
torture to Americans.
Now back to torturing being beneficial to us: If America got this
information before it was told to stop torturing their detainees, why
did Bush nor any of his cabinet know what was in
them? Are you telling me that only President Obama’s
people could recognize the ticking bomb? Bin Laden was in
Pakistan for over 4 years. After all of their torturing, they
didn’t know what information was being gathered from these
prisoners. Torturing is bad business for a country. It
leaves their citizens vulnerable and it promotes compassion for those
being tortured. In short it makes us look bad.
Editor's note: Once again, you should read the things you claim to know
about. First off, Bush nor anyone else "tortured" anyone.
Now, for your so called claims. I will do this only once. If you want
to ignore facts (which you obviously do, as do most liberal Democrats)
so be it. Repeating a lie will not make it true.
To be a prisoner of war:
Article 4:2 of the Conventions:
(b) That of having a fixed distinctive sign
recognizable at a distance...
(d) That of conducting their operations in
accordance with the laws and customs of war.
And for taking hostages (gee, terrorist don't do that do they?)
Where, in the territory of a Party to the
conflict, the latter is satisfied that an individual protected person
is definitely suspected of or engaged in activities hostile to the
security of the State, such
individual person shall not be entitled to claim such rights and
privileges under the present Convention as would, if exercised
in the favour of such individual person, be prejudicial to the security
of such State.
Where in occupied
territory an individual protected person is detained as a spy or
saboteur, or as a person under definite suspicion of activity hostile
to the security of the Occupying Power, such person
shall, in those cases where absolute military security so requires, be
regarded as having forfeited rights of communication under the present
Convention.
Are you getting the message yet?
The Additional Protocal is even more specific about who is and who is
not a combatent, protected by the Conventions. Article 43: 1:
The armed forces of a
Party to a conflict consist of all organized armed forces, groups and
units which are under a command responsible to that Party for the
conduct of its subordinates....[they] shall enforce compliance with the
rules of international law applicable in armed conflict
Article 44: 3
conitnues:
In order to promote the protection of the civilian population from the
effects of hostilities, combatants are
obliged to distinguish themselves from the civilian population while
they are engaged in an attack or in a military operation
preparatory to an attack. Recognizing, however, that there are
situations in armed conflicts where, owing to the nature of the
hostilities an armed combatant cannot so distinguish himself, he shall
retain his status as a combatant, provided that, in such situations, he carries his

What do you think?
The problem with this 'new' birth certificate is that it's,
well....new. It lists his birthday as August 4, 1961, then lists his
father's native country as Kenya . The problem with that is Kenya
didn't exist until 1963; it was British East Africa or East Africa
Protectorate until then. It also lists the hospital of his birth as
Kapi'olani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital , which didn't exist
until 1978. Prior to that time it was Kauaikeolani Children's Hospital.
It is also dated April 25, 2011, with Dr. Alvin T. Onaka signing to the
stamp of "I certify this is a true copy or abstract of the record on
file in the Hawaii Department of State Health". Being an abstract does
not mean it is real or official; it means it matches what is in the
electronic system, which would have been put in some time after 1978
because of the hospital name, and as recently as April 25, 2011,
because of the date, or any time in between.

There are on only two candidates running. I encourage all parents to
come to the school and vote. This will be to fill the one seat for May
and June until the new Board is elected. Candidates are: Michael V.

The election for the 2011-2012 BOD is being held May, 12, 2011 7am-7pm.
The candidates for that election are posted on Fox Creek's

Editor's note: Would Michael V. Charlton be the father of Michael

That would have to be some platform if it is. And people wonder why the

How to read Bar Codes .......interesting!
This may be useful to know when grocery shopping, if it's a concern to
you.
GREAT WAY TO "BUY USA & CANADA " AND NOT
FROM CHINA!!
The whole world is afraid of China-made"black hearted goods". Can you
differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China ? If the first
3 digits of the barcode are 690, 691 or 692, the product is MADE
IN CHINA. 471 is Made in Taiwan .
This is our right to know, but the government and related departments
never educate the public, therefore we have to RESCUE ourselves.
Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer
products "MADE IN CHINA ", so they don't show from which country it is
made. However, you may now refer to the barcode -remember if the first
3 digits are:
690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA
00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA
30 - 37 ... FRANCE
40 - 44 ... GERMANY
471 ... Taiwan
49 ... JAPAN
50 ... UK
BUY USA & CANADIAN MADE by watching for "0" at the beginning of the
number.
We need every boost we can get!

Obama has done a disservice to blacks
because of his ineptness and inexperience. He was the great hope but
totally unprepared to be president. It is hoped that the black culture
can see this for what it is and not conjure up some feelings of racial
inferiority or persecution. He has been his own worst enemy because he
was not prepared for the enormous responsibilities he chose. He has
been surrounded by Marxists all of his life and his learned method of
operation has been agitation, which does not bode well for the
leadership position he holds. Historically, citizens who chose Marxist
hope and change, lived to become destitute slaves of the state.
No group should be judged by the foibles of one person unless they all
agree and defend that person. The white culture should, likewise, not
be in a funk because they elected an incapable president like Carter
but they should question on what basis they elected him. Was it because
he was Southern, Baptist, white, Democrat or what? When we are
imprisoned by our prejudices and preferences, black or
white? We, predictably, suffer consequences when selecting
and electing fluff over substance. Where do we lay the blame? Is it
laid at the indolent, non-productive side of the spectrum or at the
greedy, dominant ruling class side? Without a transforming moral and
ethical change beginning with each individual, we will continue to be
dominated by sleaze, trickery and dishonesty across the whole spectrum.
Black and white need to seriously consider our future selections and
cast our vote for capable candidates who can tackle our country's
problems regardless of his or her skin tone. With the perilous
condition of this country, the time for triteness is gone. Black and
white both feel the pinch of the economic failures brought on by both
parties. As we have seen the country deteriorate in its economic
soundness and international standing, we have nothing to brag about. We
are given the choice of writing more bad checks or taking the necessary
hits to work ourselves out of this debacle. If we continue to chose to
let the country deteriorate, the road ahead will certainly lead to
violent anarchy followed by tyranny. In reality, black and white are in
the same boat and decisions to row in the same direction will get us to
a proper destination. The analogy of choosing a sports team does not
work here – we are all on the same team in terms of the success of this
country and the American way of life. We know that a house divided
cannot stand but what will the house look like without each other.
Maybe it has to start locally with representatives of faith willing to
clear their minds and meet together to forge ahead with sound solutions
that are founded in morality and love, made with out prejudice and
preference. I hope you men of faith will offer up your
sacrifice of preference and urgently exhibit the law of love to save
your community and this nation. All of the words from the pulpit
without action avail little.
What is your choice? Hold to your dogged demagoguery or break free from
your imprisoned mind?

who the "players" (those that think they have big money) think they are

know who they are.
Just goes to show, if you get selected because of who you know and not
on your merit, sooner or later it will cost everyone. And the bad
thing about it is, they are actually hurting the kids they are
politic'ing for to get the position.
When the real scouts come out to make selections, they will see those
that are playing, aren't worth their time or effort and move on.
If you're the hunter, the fisherman friend, the walking fish, the
business owner, the old redneck buddy-you're hurting your community,
and most of all, you're hurting the kid. If they can't play, they
can't play. Guess that's what ya get when the political hacks
start influencing others to hire, to select, to appoint. Look
what it did for our President-and now we're all paying the price.
Glad our SEALS aren't selected that way.

One thing I will give you credit for: Shoot on sight.
That’s exactly what happened to bin Laden. If he had been
captured he would have fallen under the Geneva guidelines. But
you have to understand, terrorists make up a small group of people that
our armed forces are facing overseas. Our problems come from
rebels, bad leaders, and disenfranchised citizen. It would have
been nice if the war in Iraq had been about terrorists attacking
us. But it wasn’t. The war in Afghanistan is supposed to be
about terrorists but we know it is mostly rebels. The terrorist
have a safe hold in Pakistan. That’s the country we have paid
billions to stamp out terrorists regime. Now if you noticed,
these two wars were started under George Bush. Neither one has
done much about terrorists being removed. So yes, when you start
preaching abuse of power, you are putting our loved ones in
jeopardy. When the terrorists capture our people, they do what
they are planning on doing immediately and in the worse possible
way. But what about rebels, and bad leaders, they hold them
captive. That is when we have a problem. Will they mistreat
them because of how we mistreat our prisoners? Obama has done
more for this country in two years than Bush did in eight. He
doesn’t brag and boast about what he is doing, he just does it.
And in all the cases that he have had to decide on, his decisions have
been beneficial to the ones involved. The handling of the pirates
in the open seas and the elimination of bin Laden were not made known
before hand and when the world realized what was happening the
operations were already done. I want a leader who knows when to
talk and when to act. I want a leader who is a good family man and a
loving husband. I want a leader with strong moral values. I
am so proud we have President Obama, a man who leads by action.
The fault is not in him.

They burn their bodies and display them? Yes, I guess that is a more
humane treatment than enhanced interrogation. I think not! How can you

fooling yourself if you think they will treat our soldiers
humanely. They will kill 3,000 innocent civilians and cheer about it.
What is it you don't get in that?
Do you realize that we are at war? Do you realize that we are not

Hate to disappoint you. For some reasons you should follow your

safety-net for detainees even if addtitional Geneva Convention

addressed the fact that if the information about bin Laden safe house
was in the mistreatment of prisoners and yet Bush and his cohorts
couldn’t see it – hmmmmm! Now for the quotes. In the case
of Mohammed al-Qahtani, information gotten by torture was thrown
out. Article 3 says no torture for anyone who is not taking
an active part in …. Guess what! Once arrested, they are
not taking an active part. In the 2010 New York trial of Ahmed Khalfan
Ghailani who was accused of complicity in the bombing of US embassies
in Tanzania and Kenya, Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled evidence obtained under
coercion inadmissible.[67] The ruling excluded an important witness,
whose name had been extracted from the defendant under duress.[68] The
jury acquitted him of 280 charges and convicted on only one charge of
conspiracy.[67][68] After the ruling was passed our
government came out with new directives for detainees.

top it off, after the United Nations called unsuccessfully for the
Guantanamo Bay detention camp to be closed, one judge observed
'America's idea of what is torture ... does not appear to coincide with
that of most civilized nations'.[18]
The sad part about your thinking is that it will cause harm to befall

Yes he did. When he decided to go after the oil wells in Iraq, no
one could stop him. But when it came to getting the mastermind of
9/11, we had no shock and awe or anything else. You say you are a
conservative. Normally it’s the Democrats who promote war to help
another country. But Bush changed all of that. He stated
after he fooled us into a war, that he was doing it for humanitarian
reasons. Conservatives do not believe in America fighting other
people problems. This is normally the mindset of Democrats.
But y’all bought into his reasoning. You have a more conservative
President now in the White House, one who exemplifies the principle and
beliefs of the Christian, Democrat or Republican party as far as moral
values are preached, one who is trying to do what is right and just,
and you can’t stand it. You cannot find a better husband, father,
family man, or moral leader anywhere and you condemn him every step of
the way. But the good thing is, “His rewards will not come from
you”. You spend all of your time fighting the good in
him. Wonder why? Intelligence? Black? Democrat?
Which one irks you the most? As far as water boarding
prisoners, mistreating prisoners should never be the norm. We
have to hold onto the rules that are laid down by the Geneva
Convention. We have to use common sense because our young men and
women in the military need us to stay sane. I have to many love
ones oversea fighting and maintaining in mitiltary bases around the

bodies for information scares me. I don't want it to happen to
them. They have to face too much already. They have to

Editor's note: Where to begin? It is Democrats who are against the
war.. or are you that blind? Next, so the war in Iraq was for oil..
then where is all this oil we got? Obama is a Marxist, even he admitted
that (have you even read his books written by Bill Ayers?) Water
boarding is what got the intel that brought about the location of
Osama. And, most of all, according to the Geneva Convention, terrorist
have no rights and are allowed to be shot on sight, period. Maybe you
should read that as well before you spout off. There is an old saying,

as he sat there watching the killing of Osama. Do you think he
thought, Gee, here I am, President of a country I absolutely detest and
hope will no longer be the guiding light to the rest of the world, that
has the technological know-how to reach out and touch someone a half a
world away. Or was it, Gee, I'm lucky to be President of a country that

attacks.
And do you think he finally realized at that moment, if America was as
bad and racist as he has been led to believe by Bill Ayers, Rev Wright,
Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc., that he could have just as easily
been dispatched by this hate filled country instead of being elected to

Re: Yes, Obama will get the credit
because he is sitting in the seat when it happened-USAMA DEAD!
And rightly so!!! Bush said at a White House press conference on
March
13,
2002, "I truly am not that concerned about him"
. And of course the following March, he shifted America’s
focus to Iraq, which proved to be a gigantic diversion.
So why should Bush get any credit. Bush went after the oil wells
in Iraq. From 2002, until his departure from the White
house, searching for bin Laden became secondary to the oil wells in
Iraq. Every time a lead would come up, somehow bin Laden would
escape. President Obama was determined to bring bin
Laden to justice. It was President Obama’s promise to the
relatives of 9/11 that bin Laden would be brought to justice. It
was under his watch and he gave the command to kill or arrest Osama bin
Laden. Even though bin Laden had been living in Pakistan for 3
years before President Obama came to office, no one could find
him. Wonder why? Now it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to
realize that if Bush was still President, bin Laden would be happily
living in his mansion in Pakistan. For three years under
President Bush’s watch, bin Laden lived in peace. Now why do you
think it never dawn on Bush that something was up with a mansion being
built so close to Pakistan capital. And plus you had all of those
reinforced walls for protection. Maybe it was a
family and oil well situation since that consumed most of our leaders’
attention at that time. Do you think the bin Laden's family will
continue to do business with the Bush's family? Bin Laden death
may not be good for that relationship.
Editor's note: You are taking the comment out of context. Pres. Bush
stated that he did not spend a lot of time thinking about Osama, he did
not say that he, or the military, were not actively seeking his
location. Typical of the left. Bush acted at once, Obama
took
16
hours to make up his mind whether or not to even go in once
they knew for sure where he was. Who hesitated? Bush or Obama?
By the way, seems waterboarding paid off. Put that in Obama's pipe and
let him smoke that. Everything that Obama railed against gave him the
info needed to find and kill Osama.

for public colleges in South Carolina., you are incorrect. IF you have
insurance through a parent, then you are fine, IF however you do not
have any type of medical coverage you are DENIED admission unless you
purchase a personal health plan. so if you are poor, good luck,
Medicaid is not for the poor, and once you are over 18 you are dropped,
no matter your income or if you are a full time student. Don't believe

running up big bills at the student health services so instead they

What a shocker, not. The Republican Sen.
John Ensign (R-NV), the subject of an ongoing ethics investigation,
announced his resignation Thursday, effective May 3. And Billy never
said a word about it.
Leaders of the Senate Ethics Committee released a statement hinting
that their probe had found evidence of wrongdoing, and Ensign
acknowledged that his resignation came in part to avoid formal charges.
Now think about this, when the Democratic Congressman Charlie Rangel
was accused of wrongdoing, and before he was proven guilty, O'Reilly
reported the hell out of that story, and even called for Rangel to
resign his chairmanship.
But when a Republican Senator is involved in something like that,
O'Reilly not only does not call for him to resign, he ignores the
entire story and never even reports it.
I guess that is some of that so-called fair and balanced non-partisan
journalism O'Reilly claims to do, that is really partisan bias. If
Ensign were a Democrat, O'Reilly would be all over the story, but since
he is a Republican he totally ignores it.
Editor's note: If Ensign was a Democrat it wouldn't be news, nor would
it affect him being re-elected. Just ask the many Democrats (Rangle,
Jefferson, ect) who are found guilty and stay in office. Republicans
usually quit because they would never get re-elected.
