The Johnston police do an excellent job
patroling the streets during Halloween keeping most of the entitlement
grown ups from using this day as an excuse to get more free-bees. Last
year we had some entitlement men, and some Obama Pajama MaMas come by
for candy. How pathetic these people are and where is their sense of
dignity? They have been on the Democratic Plantation for too long and
don't know Halloween is for kids and not loafers. Of course these
people don't read and certainly don't read this section....so it will
be another year of entitlement loafers sneaking around getting mo free
stuff. The town should have a law prohibiting adults from showing up at
homes when small children are expected and from wearing masks which
could give someone the impression they are going to be robbed. How
about it city council people, here is your chance to make a difference
and enact a law and prevent something bad from happening.

Not all who are Fox Creekers would like to
see Dr. Tim Murph as superintendent of Edgefield County schools; in
fact, most of them would not. Many would like to see him move
right on out of South Carolina to a district where he would be a better
fit. The person who continues to write about his glories in
Wandering Minds should realize that NOT just one person has brought
about the successes of Fox Creek; success for the students and for the
school has been a team effort from parents, faculty and staff, and
students themselves. Fox Creek is not a perfect school but it IS
a good school with--again--parents, faculty and staff, and students who
care and who work hard.
That is not to say that Strom Thurmond High or Wardlaw do not
care or do not work hard; they certainly do! Our county's high
school students are very blessed to have three credible
schools from which to choose. Go Predators, Rebels, and Patriots!

Me and the wife have been talking about
how you could be two places at 1 time about the carjacking thing.
(Edgefield Daily) have a picture of the police at the place he was
arrested and then pictures of the CVS and the suv where it took place.
How?
Editor's note: I happened to be in Johnston when the call of the
crime went out (originally as an attempted kidnapping) telling
officers the suspect was heading towards Johnston. I was able to follow
the chase by radio after I saw the Deputy get behind the suspect
vehicle and arrived shortly after he was taken into custody. After that
I drove to the crime scene in Edgefield and took photos and spoke
briefly with the victim to assure her that no photo taken contained
her, her vehicle, and that her name would not be used in any report.
Two places at two different times but both within an hour of the report
and the end of it taking place. Also, the SUV pictured is not the one
driven by the victim, it shielded her vehicle in the photo.

RE: From New York
The writer extolling the virtues of New York City and the state of New
York must surely be aware of the great quality of the roads from South
Carolina to New York. She can travel in great comfort right up
the interstates, or she has the option of either flying out of
Columbia or Augusta for relatively easy flights. Why on earth is
she staying in an area she finds so distasteful?

Republican nomination. ...... “I think he makes that white Republican
base of the party feel okay, feel that they’re not racist because they
can like this guy,........."
Told this wouldn't be too far behind. The Nathaniel Jacksons, the
James Bibbs', the Sally Cooks', the Crenshaws, the Hoopers, the
Griffins of the world are scared to death of the Herman Cains of the
world. Why? Because the aforementioned don't work for the
people, they work forthemselves, whilst the latter has busted his
Keester to get to where he is at. And to take what Cain said,
yes, he remembers riding in the back of the bus, but he didn't dwell
on, and now, and now he owns the bus!
The race baiters rely heavily on keeping their own people down so they
can amass power and financial gain by removing their competition.
They can't have Herman Cains upsetting the little apple carts they've
built for themselves. If the black community ever catches on that
the way out of the poverty, crime ridden, drug infested, squalor the
race baiters have given them along with their compatriots in the
Democrat Party-they, the race baiters and the Democrat Party will
implode!
Guess we'll have to wait for nature to take it's course for the racists
in Edgefield to go away. How old are most of these thugs?

It's great to have Fox Creek as a landing
place for all the area athletes that couldn't compete at Thurmond and
North Augusta. Someone had commented a couple of weeks ago about how
the baseball team at Fox Creek looked like a little North Augusta team.
There are several Fox Creek baseball and football players who live in
NA. These players are very marginal and would never have played at NA .
The creme always rises to the top in athletics and the others get
weeded out. Once a kid is no longer eligible to compete in the daddy
coached rec leagues he will get left behind. When a coaches job
security and career are on the line, that coach is going to put the
best players on the field. Yes they do recruit at Foxcreek ( I've
witnessed this ), but only attract kids who are not willing to compete
and do the hard work on the field and in the classroom to earn a spot
and playing time at elite programs like Thurmond and NA. If you are as
good as you think you are why would you not want to play in an elite
AAAA program like NA? Thanks Foxcreek for being a place where all the
attitudes, malcontents, poor grades, daddy coached rec league
superstars, etc can have a place to play ball. Thurmond and NA are much
better off without you.

I don't know who Ms. Garrett is, and could care less. What I DO
care about, is this pea-brain of a bigoted writer who considers
anything from New York to be a cesspool!!! EXCUSE ME, but my
dearly beloved was born, lived, and worked in New York City for many
years--and he, nor any of his family, nor friends are
cesspool!!!!!! I DID NOT marry a 'contaminated' man, I
married a gentleman with a heart of gold, who has done well for
himself, and is a 'man's man' and highly respected by those who know
him. When I first met him, one of the qualities that I admired
about him is that he had no bigotry, no racial prejudice toward
anyone. To this day, he still does not; he accepts people for
their character, not skin color. Which is more than I can say
about some in this area.
"ATTEMPT to contaminate our area" ????? WHAT A FARCE!!!!
Unfortunately, a few die-hards in this area are still fighting the
Civil War, for heaven's sakes!!! This area is ALREADY
contaminated---with the cesspool of racial prejudice--on both sides of
the aisle, and stinks to high heaven, and I for one, am thoroughly sick
of it!!
And while we're at it, dear writer, try getting out of your cocoon and
traveling outside this area. This is one gorgeous country full of
interesting people from all walks of life--a lot of good apples with
some bad apples mixed in, from sea to shining sea--including the state
of New York and New York City--2 wholly different worlds, in case you
didn't know.
Your ignorance and prejudice are most unbecoming!!

Peter Cried Wolf - everyone knows the
story. And now it's being replaced by Cocaine Jackson Cried
Racism, or is it Bro Bibbs Cried Racism, or is it Sister Sally Cried
Racism, or was it the Jackson Sisters Cried Wolf, or was it Dorn Cried
Racism, or was it Hooper Cried Racism, or was it Griffin Cried Racism,
or was it Crenshaw Cried Racism? So many authors for only one boring
irrelevant story. Problem is, the dumb masses that wrote the second
fable are plagiarists - they've all written the same story. And
just to show you how smart they all are, they either never read the
story, or in most of their cases were never told the story, or they
really are as stupid as they appear. Even Peter, who didn't have
the luxury of being educated in our wonderful government schools,
quickly realized if you cry wolf too often, no one will come to your
aid.
Now one must ask - how did racism make Dorn so stupid? Didn't he
do that all by himself? And how did racism make Cocaine Jackson a
drug trafficker? Didn't he do that all by himself? Oh,
wait, I get it. It was the racist cops that caught him engaged in
illegal activity, so it's their fault. And how did racism make
Hooper a rapist? Didn't he do that all by himself? And how did
racism make Sister Sally a bumbling idiot? Doesn't she do that
all by herself? And how did racism make Crenshaw a failure?
Didn't she do that all by herself, not once, but three times?
(Clarendon, Dorchester and now Edgefield)
It's getting old guys and gals. First you cry racism when a few
citizens start questioning the on-goings in the district. Now you
cry racism by a school board that was elected. So it's probably
safe to say, if you never get your day in court, it'll be the racist
judges or lawyers. OMG. I'm getting scared, racists, racists,
they're everywhere, they're everywhere. See what a joke you've
become. So Martin Luther died in vein thanks to you aholes.

Halloween is good and trick-or-treating
should be a fun time for families with small children. However, here in
Johnston I hope some people don't ruin it like they sometimes have in
the past. The adults are not supposed to have trick-or-treat bags too.
I have seen some with pillow cases to collect candy in. A couple of
years ago a full-grown man all by himself rang my doorbell at least 30

any candy left. Of course I never opened the door. Please let this

the NAACP, who never take up meaningful issues. They pull their race
card at times that it should stay in the wallet. Why stand behind
someone who was overtly incompetent. Yes racism exists but just because
someone is black doesn't give NAACP the right to try to cause an

of your QB towards the coaching staff, players, and the opposing team;
he really showed disrespect at Friday nights game and you continue to
allow him to get away with his "EGO" I agree he is an extemely
good football player but his attitude makes the other players feel
ashamed. I will be glad when he goes to Clemson because a few
knocks from those college football players may knock that 'EGO"
off! But Coach Scheinder you are no better if you are allowing

prideful and disrespectful there is no I in team but Marty thinks
so. I hope you are not scared to do something about the poor

Yep racism is alive and well in Edgefield
County. Only thing, it is not the ones you think who play and
display the race card. Just this week the drug dealer and his
cohorts are questioning the school board and Dorn is ranting about not
getting a map drawn to his liking. Problem with Dorn is he cannot
follow the simplest of conversations. What part of : Mr. Dorn how
would you like it drawn? do you not understand. The key was to
listen to the question. You had numerous opportunities and your
response was it doesn't matter I am going to sue no matter what you
draw.
As for those supporting the superintendent, where were you when she was
hired even though her record was more than questionable and where were
you when the complaints came time and time again. Is it totally
inconceivable to the NAACP and those they represent that one of their
own just might not be what is best for the schools, to answer Mrs.
Garrett's question. Who has looked into what is really going on
and has been covered up for years. Until those that hang on
to the past, leave it behind and move into the present, Edgefield
County will remain what it is and has been for too many years.
How is that working for you folks. Where are all the reverends in
the community who are suppose to lift others up. You need
to know the difference between a hand up and a hand out. As long
as you have your hand out and expect the world to take care of your
every need you will never advance. As long as you fail to recognize
what is happening around you and support someone because of color you
will remain where you are. You will stay stuck and the leaders
like Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and the others will be raking in the
money while you sink further down the rabbit hole.
So just keep voting for and feeding that kitty with the big egos and
see where you wind up. Good luck you are going to need it.

To Nathaniel Jackson: The Board did

did you MISS THAT? To Ms. Garrett: The Board Chairman held
a press conference the day after Crenshaw's termination to share the
reasons for her termination. He spelled it all out.
How did YOU miss that? Also, Ms. Garrett, you followed closley
the story that Crenshaw and PR presented to you. All those photo
ops were staged and Crenshaw stole the credit for way too much.
Nathaniel Jackson should not be allowed to address this situation to
the Board ever again. The Board is elected, the majority ruled
and it's a done deal. Crenshaw can take her chances in court if she
chooses to waste her money. I think the Board was more than
generous and now Crenshaw can seek employment in another district and
wreak her havoc there. The story will repeat itself once
again. The problem is, by the time she's relieved of her duties,
the damage is done. It'll take years to clean up the mess and
heal the district. Her removal as Superintendent is the first
step in our healing process. Here's to a new beginning......

I am so sick of hearing the accusation of
racism thrown out over things like the firing of Dr. Crenshaw. Does a

Reading about the actions of Mr. Dorn and his race ranting makes me
wonder what is wrong with this man. It causes these people to lose any
credibility they might have. The past is the past and I say move on.
Harboring anger only hurts the ones who are harboring it. This county
will not move forward unless people grow up and take responsibility for
their own lives.
We see the Tea Party accused of racism because it is the only attack
the left can come up with. Since when is it a racial issue to disagree
with someone's policies? Aren't people smart enough and confident
enough to handle disagreement without calling names?
I know that racism is alive and well here, but it is not a one sided
deal. There is a big world out there and we should all be able to move
beyond this issue. For heavens sake, we are all people who have value
in the eyes of God. He doesn't look at someone's race as a basis for
loving them. Believe it or not, we are all equal in the eyes of God so
accept that fact and stand tall. Quit blaming race for everything. It
is not a good argument for any race.

Board members, Bibbs, Cooks and the Jackson Sisters our school
employees in particular had to work in an atmosphere where favoritism,
psychological warefare, incompetence, lackless leadership to mention a
few were the daily menue. And you members of the black community want
to cry racism? Your crys of racism used to cause concern, but because
you cry on a regular basis it only causes ears to close much faster.
Find a new word or words to replace racism...maybe jobism or stay out
of jailism.
Maybe your leader, Cocaine Jackson can come up with a word. The
NAAC-Pee communists should not be allowed to cause trouble or attend
school board meetings. They are sooooo stupid and actually believe
intelligent people take them seriously. In all probability, most of the
NAAC-Pee folks attending the school board meetings do not have a
high school diplomas, college degrees, or an IQ above a tomato plant.
And the only reason you attend these meeting is to cause continued
division between peoples. And what if the local Nazi or KKK party
wanted to attend these meetings? Would they be allowed to attend as is
the communist NAAC-Pee party?
You NAAC-Pee'ers have no credibility anymore. You are a distraction to
anything positive. You wallow in
racism, class warfare, yet probably don't have a job, don't want a job,
ain't ever gonna look for a job and
run when offered a job.
And Cocaine Jackson wants to tell the board "I be watching you". We are
shaking Cocaine man,and guess what....we be watching you toooooo.
And you black supporters of Cocaine Jackson wonder why many white
residents in this county will never take your NAAC-Pee rants seriously
when your spokesman is Cocaine Jackson, Rev Hooper or Brother Dorn.
These are the best spokespersons you can find? The only actions the
communist supported
NAAC-Pee is good for is causing mistrust, racial division,
unintelligible noise, unintelligible singing, ignorant anger and
hatred. So keep crying for Dr. Crenshaw to return and ask yourselves
why you let Dr. Roberson and other fine black leaders leave the school
system without a fight...yet you fought much harder to try to elect a
convicted criminal such as Cocaine Jackson to a position on our school
board? You NAAC-Pee people are a joke. Pray for me sisters.

The Marine looked at the man and said, "Sir, Mr. Obama is no longer

President Obama." The Marine again told the man, "Sir, as I said
yesterday, Mr. Obama is no longer President and no longer resides

the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U.S.

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man

saluted, and said, "See you tomorrow, Sir.

THE LAW IS THE LAW So "if" the US government determines that it is

be it.
And "if" that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are
not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.
I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.
I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people
than I are in positions to make good decisions.
I would like to think that those people have the American public's best

BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?
Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His
Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government
(Federal, State and Local) and its employees should participate in the
Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our
government is eliminating from many facets of American life.
I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving

I'd like the" US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good

I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to
worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all it's just

I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all
government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday
& Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just
like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be
"politically correct."
In fact....
I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside

it should be just another day....

The struggles that teachers are feeling
with TAP continue - We sure wish that the School Board would address
our concerns. Problems are in the air and principals answer questions
and then have to drop back and punt because they find out from Regional
Master Teachers that their answers are incorrect. If the principals
voted and spoke for us, then they should be experts on the rubric. But,
they are not.
The principals just do what they know how to do - pass it on to someone
else to do. And even the master teachers in the schools are
simply principal's assistants. How much time do Master Teachers spend
actually teaching students and modeling lessons in front of students
for teachers? We think that the principals hope that the TAP checks
will get to us soon so that we will all be one big happy family. Well
it's not going to happen. The money will just open more issues.....
Just wait. We all compare our scores and you can bet that we will
compare our checks. So lets just see if the lazy ones that do nothing
but let their stronger colleagues carry them make exactly the same
amount. Also, is the school board going to publish how much money each
principal gets?
If we have enough money to pay out Crenshaw's salary and hire someone
as interim, then why did we need TAP to save jobs? The Master teachers
need to be in regular classrooms reducing class size across the
district. Same is true that another poster said that the literacy
coaches need to be in regular classrooms to reduce class size.
Classroom teachers are at their breaking point in this district - it's
true. There are days that we get no planning periods which means that
we go up to 4 or 5 hours without even a restroom break - unless we ask
someone to watch our students. But ultimately we are held accountable
if something happens when we leave the students to go to the bathroom.
I don't know why anyone would decide to be a teacher in this day and
age and certainly not in Edgefield.
Here's a tip for the new superintendent - as a part of a principal's
evaluation, require that they spend one continuous week each year
teaching in classrooms with the schedule that they have set up for
their teachers with no deviations from that schedule.

combined. How often has any Merriwether school won District Teacher of

Whoever wrote that diatribe of liberal horse manure concerning past

more corrupt than poor ole Dr.Crenshaw and her crew of Obamites, can go
pound sand. Of course there are and will always be problems in any
school setting, because the problems are created by people of all
races. I did not hear a great out cry from the black community when
Cocaine Jackson was running for school board. A known drug dealer
trying to get onto our school board so he can further the communist
cause of the NAACP, and in all of this comotion was Communist Bibbs
shuttling voters to and from the voting precint. Thank you Comrade
Bibbs, we Patriots are watching you.
Those who believe the firing of Dr. Crenshaw was racist and extreme are
too racially sensitive. Not thourghly investigating the High
School principal and his alledged womanizing is enough to warrant Dr.
Crenshaw's firing due to the atmosphere of sexual harrassment he
created and nothing was done to protect female employees, who in some
instances left the school because of this atmoshpere. We as tax payers
had better be thankful no sexual harrassment law suits have resulted
from Dr. Crenshaw's inability to thouroughly investigate the matter.
Yet there are those who lay blame on the evil white school board (not
Bibbs & Cooks) for doing their duty and firing someone who
was, and is, incaple of leading a school district. It's ok to have a
Cocaine Jackson on the school board and a superintendent who created a
Hitler's Bunker atmosphere throughout the schools, yet chastise our
school board (not Bibbs & Crooks) for firing a known liability?
And let's not forget Commie Bibbs bringing into our school system Madam
Clunkscales, who had never
worked in a school system and yet who singlehandedly ran off a lot of
good white teachers. Yes, white teachers. I would call that reverse
racism.
And yet we wonder why no industry or people with school age children
are relocating to Edgefield County? Unfortunately our county has become
an embarrassment with embarrassing people in positions of authority
(i.e. our Tax Assessor), and others who most of us would not let onto
our property let alone be near or teach our children or even our farm
animals. Right now our school board is cleaning up a mess and should be
congratulated for standing up to the communist NAACP and their
followers, who many of us consider traitors to this country. It is
going to take time to get rid of these embarrassments, and it is going
to take time to take our country and county back from communist Obama
doctrines which have poisoned our social structure. So you NAACP
commies can cry racism and anything else you desire, because those
names only fall on deaf ears thanks to the Obama world order.

and you just want to throw cold water on any positive thing they are
accomplishing. Someone had asked about Fox Creek and these statistics
were given as positive information about the the school.
I know nothing about Fox Creek other than all the bashing it gets in
this newspaper. I do know something about charter schools. They are
alive and well in other parts of the country. Charter schools get all
the same criticism private schools get-the poverty numbers etc.
That does not mean that they are a not a positive choice for some
people. Why is it so hard for people to let others do what is right for
their families? It is really no one else's business. What works for
some, does not work for others.
This issue plays right into class warfare being promoted in this
country. People resent anyone who can either afford a different option,
or who chose a different option. If some are able to do things
differently, well, that is life. Maybe the critics of things like
charter schools are either afraid the schools will actually succeed or
they regret not doing the same for their families. Jealousy and fear
are dangerous emotions and cloud people's judgement.
With the issues our education system is dealing with, I applaud
anything that seems to be working.

It's amazing how people are so quick to
point the finger, judge and ready to have people persecuted in every
way, whether it is in their very own work place and to the public. ECSD
Staff, you just don't know when and who has been watching your very own
moves on a daily basis. Those who are shouting out loud and casting
stones to others should take a good look in the mirror and evaluate
themselves first. You see there just might be more than one person out
there that has a "book" with all your secrets for staff who are both
Black and White. Surely you wouldn't want the public to know what those
secrets are especially the media to include Edgefield Daily "Wandering
Minds".
The turmoil and the mess this district is in now only scratches the
minimal surface. The mess began way before Dr. Roberson and Dr.
Crenshaw "the Black People" started working in this district. People
let's not forget, there were problems with a wide spread of staff that
have not and are not doing their jobs now and before these two "Black"
Administrators were in office. Let's go back to the years' when
Dickert, Keesley, Mathis and Murrel "the White People" were in office.
Oh how they too were so fooled by their very own staff who were working
under them when they were Administrators. Even these same "White"
Administrators were not always doing their jobs for the good of our
district especially our children. The issues at hand that surfaced when
Dr. Crenshaw was in office. I ask, if they were ever addressed by the
ECBOE back when Dickert, Keesley, Mathis and Murrel were in office?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Did the issues with Teachers, Cafeteria staff,
Janitors, Data Clerks, Guidance Counselors, Secretaries, Maintenance
and let's not forget the Facility Director get addressed by the ECBOE
back when Dickert, Keesley, Mathis and Murrel were in office?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Is ECSD racially divided? ABSOLUTELY YES!! Our very
own "White Administrators" turned a blind eye to corruption that was
much worse and happening right before their very own eyes. Our "tax
payers" and parents should know more of all the secrets that have been
a hush, hush for many years with the staff in the entire school
district. Because it's who you know and related to in Edgefield County
that still kept these people working then and now that have not been
fired.
The Board Members then and now have also turned a blind eye to all the
corruptions that have been on going for many years, this includes their
very own close friends and relatives who are ECSD staff. You are not in
the schools regularly to really have a true eye opener too what really
goes on behind close doors through out the whole district. Hearing the
complaints and getting phone calls from their very own friends and
relatives and the staff that have close connections with the current
Board, are leading you in the wrong direction with their own hidden
agenda's and personal gains. If you the public "Tax Payer" and parents
don't know this by now, you would be very surprised to know all the
dirty secrets little and big that has been and is being hidden from you
from past and present employees.
Parents' where were all of you at the Board Meetings that were and are
being held at the District year after year and as tax payers having the
freedom of speech to voice the concerns and the needs of our children
not being met? There has been nothing but silence all these years until
now, when the word got out the "Black Administrator" was going to be
fired because she wasn't doing her job. Yes there were some things that
could have been handled differently. However the firing should have not
excluded the past Administrators and current, Facility Director and
other employees' for not doing their jobs when they were and are still
in office. The difference is the past Administrators and employee's
didn't get exposed and evaluated, and fired for not doing their job and
meeting the criteria's that are expected from any Administrator in
office. It just so happen to be the current one did.
However when someone new is hired in to our district White or Black
with a vision for our children in the now 21st Century too make changes
that are beyond past due. ECSD doesn't take liking to changes needed
across the district as a whole especially when it doesn't benefit the
staff in some way individually.
ECSD it's time to wake up and start living with the present time of
2011 and quit living in the past of how things use to be with the past
Administrators. Board members and Administrators past and present
failed by not setting firm guidelines on job descriptions that are
required before hiring the individuals for employment. It's time for
our district to hire competent and reliable employees that are not
afraid to work and go the extra mile being a team player for the good
of our district and most of all setting a good example to our children
through out our schools. We the adults have and are failing in many
areas to include sending the wrong messages to our future generation
who will be our leaders in years too come.
In the real world now, companies are quick to fire you if you are not
meeting the company's expectations, with your job performance in all
areas. This would include coming to work on time, clean, groomed and
dressed in a professional manner according to your job title and
description you were hired for and most important being held
accountable. Remember everyone is replaceable in the workforce, so if
you are doing your job and meeting the company's job requirements, then
you have nothing to worry about. For those employees who were hired
from past Administrators, and have slacked off completely, not meeting
the NOW job descriptions and requirements, you should have been fired a
long time ago. Let's face it your dead weight to everyone in your
departments, it's time to bring in young and old fresh experienced
staff that are not afraid to work, most of all who do want to work, and
have so much more to offer to our children's education. As Paul Harvey
would say, "Like what you do, If you don't like it, do something else"
So as the plot thickens with people casting stones at one another,
pointing the finger, placing fault, and blame on others to get fired.
Let it be a reminder to everyone of the boomerang that will turn back
around to hit you from behind. Others would call this "Bad Karma"!

From a Vietnam Vet and retired Police
Officer:
I had a doctors appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found
out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While
going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the
end of the exam, three questions:
1. Did I feel stressed?
2. Did I feel threatened?
3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?
The nurse then informed me, that if I had answered yes to any of the
questions, I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have
gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to
Homeland Security.
Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like
retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after
the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be
aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering
veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun
owner veteran or not, YOU"VE BEEN WARNED !
If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them. Be

It
was so nice to see the positive information about Fox Creek. I know in
the past there has been a lot of bashing of this school in posts I have
read .Often, negative statements are based on fear, jealousy etc. I am
sure that in a county like this, anything new is hard to accept. It
shouldn't be a threat to have a school like Fox Creek in Edgefield
county because it adds a new dimension to the county. It might
even draw new residents (tax base) to this county. I think the
county should applaud this school as a positive choice for young
people. It sounds like they are doing a good job. If people don't like
it, they don't have to send their kids there. It is a choice and
school choice is a very good thing these days.
I would think the county is big enough to handle two choices for high
school. I would hope the county is big enough in their thinking to
support options in education. When something in the county succeeds, we
should all feel good about it. It doesn't diminish other options-it
just may challenge others to higher standards.

Coaches aren't allowed to approach players from other districts and

other districts they wouldnt have a football or a baseball team.

Hopefully Coach Vic. will turn them all in. What message is this

Over the years you constantly read the
posts about how bad it is to be a teacher. Some get angry because
they are unfairly bashed and unjustly grouped with the underachievers
and the leeches. Do you ever wonder why?
When you have spokespeople like the Bamster, dumb mass Joe Biden, and
Union thugs constantly using teachers as their flagship group to bleed
more money from the taxpayers, you gotta wonder. Then, as
government is, they impose silly, dysfunctional programs and mandates
on the teachers so they can continue to bleed money from the taxpayers
in the form of Stim-a-lus (that's for you Sister Sally). Over the
last 40 years, we have dumped TRILLIONS of dollars into the education
system, and look where we are at-our schools are in shambles, students
aren't meeting the standards, and we are sinking fast in world stature
when it comes to an educated workforce. AND GUESS WHAT?
It's NOT all the fault of the teachers! Hint hint. They
have these programs shoved down their throats and have to teach to what
some bureaucrat dreamed up. And who gets the blame, not the dumb
mass bureaucrat that sat behind a desk and dreamed up some stupid
program.
And then there are the grants. You've got the grant writers who
come in and write these grants for every program they can to get the
schools addicted to the grant money. Often the grant programs are
nothing but a degradation in teaching and learning and absolutely do
nothing to further advance the education of our children. Hint
hint. Grants are used to get money in the school systems, hire,
let say, relatives, friends, family (cough cough Bro Bibbs). Get
those employees into the system, get them tenure, then try to get them
out when they can't really perform. Hence, teachers have a bad
name and have become despised by the general populace. Do you question
that? Who is the first word out of the Bamster's mouth on his
latest Magical Misery Tour trying to drum up support for a so-called
jobs bill that has never been officially filed - the word,
TEACHERS. These are voting programs. Use teachers to get
Stim-a-lus from taxpayer, use grants to get the money to the schools,
schools use the grant money to hire to fulfill the personnel
requirements of the grant, hence - a voting block. All while
watering down the education system, because most of the personnel hired
to "fill" these slots are not qualified, under qualified, not
certified, lazy, lethargic, untalented, waste. It's all for
votes, not "our children". Case in point, look at the last
Superintendent.
Well, have no fear teachers, we're here to help, and we are coming to
clean this mess up. Our good teachers deserve a better
environment to work in. Those questionable teachers and
administrators, and programs, and money sucking grants, and waste, is
going to be cleaned up.

Stop blaming the mentors - they work harder than the rest on the TAP

Teacher Ratio (Lowest in the County)
• 62% of Teachers
hold Advanced Degrees
• 3 Employees are
National Board Certified
• 7 Employees
have won the WJBF Golden Apple Award (Highest number of winners of any

• The Graduating
Class of 2011 qualified for $1,482,440.00 in college scholarships or
$22,806.77 per graduate.
Academic Success
• Fox Creek is
the only school in ECSD to make Excellent on its School Report Card the
past 6 years, and one of only two schools in ECSD to EVER receive an
Excellent Rating (MES)
• FCHS is the
only high school in ECSD to EVER make Excellent on its School Report
Card.
• FCHS and Parker
Elementary are the only schools in ECSD to make AYP twice in the past
four years.
• Only ECSD
school to make AYP this year and the only high school in Aiken,
Edgefield, Saluda or McCormick Counties to make AYP.
• HSAP Pass Rate
over last 4 years at FCHS = 96.52% with 100% pass rate twice. 7% higher
than any ECSD School
For those who think we are in "big trouble" down here, see the facts
above.
For those who have a problem with out of county students attending Fox
Creek, Charter School Law allows for up to 20% of our student
population to be from out of county. It has already been
established that out of county students do not cost the district
anything as the state portion of the per pupil allotment follows the
student to whatever school he attends and no money from either county
(the releasing county nor the receiving county) is allotted for those
students.

Her previous employers told the school board not to hire her, but
because she was black and there was a majority of black members on the

Editor's note: Rev Hooper was charged several times including criminal
sexual conduct in the first degree. It was later changed to assault and
battery of a high and aggravated nature, still a violent crime. This is
common with the deal making that goes on in the judicial system, as
wrong as that may be. As such, he was not convicted of a "sex crime"
and therefore does not have to register as a sex offender. There are
cases where the offender does have to register in such a case. That is
left up to the judge. In this case that would be Circuit Court
Judge Ferrell Cothran. Good luck getting him to explain his
actions. Judges like to rule, not explain.

Rev Hooper gets a pass because he is an
old man with lots of pent up urges. Or maybe Rev Hooper is of the
religion whereby he believes that laying on hands is the answer. Why
isn't Rev Hooper now considered a sex offender? Many other people are
designated as such for much less. And who was the Judge that took the
easy route? Please tell us it was not Brother Bill Keesley [Editor's
note: see above comment on the ruling judge]. I am tired of classifying
Brother Bill as another Dem liberal Carter appointee. Or maybe the
Judge was Cocaine Jackson's friend, Brother McMahon. And we wonder why
law enforcement is jaded about the justice system. Unfortunately,
Edgefield County is a microcosm of obama influence. Whatever level of
influence the Democraps occupy, incompetence and social justice
prevail. What if Rev Hooper were White? What would be the outcome? This
country and our county
are both in big trouble as long as Democraps rule. Look at what
happened to our schools when four obama people brought in a less than
stellar superintendent, hired a racist personnel lady, a high school
principal who likes women at work, unnamed county councilmen who are in
the same intellectual comparison as a coliflower plant, and so on. And
we have a president who still can not prove his constituionality as a
legitimate US citizen and most probably was born in Kenya, thus
accounting for the biggest fraud ever committed by a political party to
gain power. This fake president is approving of riots, marching,
demostrating and possible violence in order to deflect his ineptness as
a president. And those of us who object to this fake president are
called racists, terrorists and nazis. We don't like communism taking
over our country and therefore whoever this obama really is, real
American partiots do not want a lying commie as president. And,
unfortunately to his ignorant base supporters, obama is designated as
the first black president when in reality he is the first muslim
communist president determined to split this country in two by creating
class and racial warfare, which he has done an excellent job in
performing. And this fake president received more 2008 campaign money
from Wall Street than any other president in history. Yet, obama is
pitting the poor against Wall Street. He is a fake...fifty percent
white, 47% Arabic
and the rest Kenyan. Who is really sitting in the White House? If
Herman Cain gets the GOP nomination, I will vote for him, because he is

2010 Pass 7th Grade SS JET (Simmons) —45.2 % Not Met out of 157/

2010 Pass 7th Grade SS JET (Simmons) —62 % Not Met
out of 87 African Americans/ 54 total students
2011 Pass 7th Grade SS JET (Simmons)—39.9 % Not Met out of 163/ 65
total students
2011 Pass 7th Grade SS JET(Simmons)—45.6% Not Met out of 90
African Americans/ 41 total students
Source: http://ed.sc.gov/data/pass/index.cfm
Above is the data. As you can see, Mr. Simmons scores are at or
below average. Are we okay with average?
Are they higher than MMS: Barely. Great job!
HOWEVER--Look at all those students he left behind. In 2010, 71
of his students were NOT MET, while 54 of those students were African
American. Mr. Simmons---you left some of your people
behind. Almost half the 7th grade FAILED the Social Studies PASS
test. In 2011, 65 of his students were NOT MET, while 41 were
African American. The percentage was better, but 40%
failed. That means only 60% passed….60/F? So
much for no child left behind.
While some of the data looks okay, are we really okay with
being—Okay? Almost half of his students the last two years did
not pass the Social Studies portion of the PASS test. But we are
okay with that, right? That’s setting the bar high for our
children! That is someone we want as an instructional leader,

They were willing to sacrifice the the dream of a child, the

Some thoughts for the Edgefield County
School Board because Wandering Minds gets the Board's Attention:
Who brought Lenderman to the county and WHAT has she done in the way of
any new curriculum? Anything impressive with her time in our
county?
Teachers are being evaluated by Master and Mentor teachers per TAP-
which was not implemented per TAP guidelines - Is the school board
going to ask the principals to produce the votes? And is it too much to
ask if the Master and Mentor teachers passed the exam to be evaluators.
Are we allowed to find out how many times it took them to pass the
recertification test this summer? Come on. Can we be evaluated by at
least a competent evaluator?
When does that grant run out of money that took teachers out of regular
classrooms and made them literacy coaches? It is time for the Board to
look closely where these "Literacy Coaches" can be placed back in
regular classrooms in grade levels where they can reduce class size and
impact achievement. The easy life is OVER. We can use the help to
reduce class size at JET, and my child's elementary grade level could
sure use another teacher. It's just crazy. The Board needs to look at
the schedule and work load of each and every teacher. It's not hard to
see who is carrying the load. Check the schedules with the number of
students. It's all there in black and white if you are brave enough to
look.
I do believe the School Board has opened their eyes and that they are
looking out for the students and the teachers that are on the front
line.

Yes change has been brought about for the
Edgefield County School district at last. We are thankful to
those elected to the school board for making such a great move.
We hope to see a new leader that could fill the shoes of Dr.
Clarence Dickert and Dr. Sharon Keesley. Our school system has
been is a mess since their leaving us. As for JET Middle School,
we have an excellent assistant principal who came from Newberry.
He is making his home here, and he truly cares for Edgefield County and
our children. He also cares for and supports the teachers as they
teach the children each day. As for the TAP program, it is taking
so much time for teachers to do what is requires for tap that they
don't have enough time to carry out the required duties to serve our
children. Teachers are staying up all hours of night to get every
thing done. It is not fair for teachers to have to put that kind
of time in. How are they expected to teach classes of 25-28-30
students, which totals up in the 70's plus for teachers of middle and
high school, plus plan lessons to meet the student's needs, plus grade
all those papers, put grades into powershcool, and do all the horse
and dog show for TAP. Teachers were lied to about TAP when
it was mentioned by being told, "It won't be any extra work because it
is stuff you do already. Why not get paid for it?" That was
probably the biggest lie to ever be told within the boundaries of
Edgefield County! It IS a tremendous amount of extra work that
really serves no purpose except to look good on the documentation for
TAP. The school board should ask the teachers what they think in a
setting where no administrators are present so that there is NO
intemedation. At JET teachers were asked, but with that was added
that it is what the superintendent wants. How intemedating was
that? Everyone was afraid to say no! Especially those who
were not able to retire at the end of last year. The board needs to
take the pressure off of the teachers so that time can be spent
teaching.
In response to the concern over AP certification.
The rules for certification change this year. A degree does not make
you qualified anyway. You should be concerned about who has effective
classroom experience and real knowledge of how to implement best
practices in a school!

boycott Friday night's game in response to Crenshaw's firing::
before the Friday game, the head coach should take the initiative
upfront, and give all his players a choice:
1). continue playing football every week, including this Friday
-- or,
2). sit out this game in support of departed Crenshaw.
In case any kids opt for the latter choice, they should be reminded
that it is up to the coach to decide who plays and who doesn't--NOT the
kids themselves. If any kids desire to take themselves out of the
game to support Crenshaw, then they should be reminded that there are
plenty of other kids on the sidelines just waiting to take their place
and play---for the rest of the season.

the only way that we can properly evaluate teachers and give them a
path forward whenever their weaknesses are exposed. For years we
have had teachers not doing there job and failing our students and this
program gives us a chance to fix one of the problems in our school
system and it's actually creating jobs and the money isn't coming from

It was good to see the community
involvement at the last Edgefield County School Board meeting. I
was proud of ALL the board members for voting their convictions and
speaking from the heart. Each of us has our own judgments of the
effectiveness of our school district and former superintendent.
Now that changes have been made at the top, it is time for our school
board to continue to make changes throughout the school system.
Our children and their education must become everyone’s priority; not
politics, individual preferences, or skin color.
The school board needs to review some of our current practices:
How can three assistant principals be hired when they do not hold the
appropriate certification in administration, while there are certified
candidates applying for these same positions?
How can some principals remain in their positions when they are either
being propped up by their assistant or the school’s master
teacher? How and when are they evaluated? Several
administrators who are living outside of our district have been allowed
to come to work late everyday. If principals can’t do the job,
they need to be replaced!
How can the district continue to require teachers to participate in the
TAP program when it was not voted on, but forced on teachers in 5 of
our schools? If it was voted on, please require the principals to
produce the vote count. My bet is they cannot produce the
votes! Teachers love their students and believe in a strong work
ethic with accountability, but TAP has promoted hostility, stress, and
even a class system within the school. There is a place for TAP,
but the way it was forced on us was not only a lie but unprofessionally
implemented. TAP has brought the morale of participating
schools down without showing a lot of gains in academic achievement or
AYP. It is time, school board, to evaluate the TAP program in our
schools!
How can teachers be refused an internal transfer when their are open
positions and the request was made on the yearly Intent Form? On
the other hand, how can teachers be forced to transfer into a position
at the whim of the administration so “friends” can have the desired
position? (You know how it’s done!) People are more effective
when they are valued and respected!
Why are so many of our administrators hired outside of the district
when there are many strong and talented educators within our district
that would do a wonderful job.
How do we allow ineffective teachers, techs, or support staff to remain
on the job, moving them around to positions where they will do the
least damage? Who is evaluating these people?
How can the teachers living outside of the district be required to pay
“out of district” fees to have their child attend our schools?
Don’t these teachers contribute a lot to the district as it is?
Edgefield County is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a
family. We are a caring community with strong convictions for
doing what is in the best interest of our children. It is time to
put our children first!

superintendent as well as the first black president, both who are
totally non exceptional for their positions. Unfortunately, most of the
black community and country does not want to accept the fact their
leaders are not qualified. I commend the school board for taking
necessary action and I support their constant review of other persons
in positions for which not qualified and that these persons be removed
from their positions as well. If not for the inept and racially
motivated actions by Bibbs, Cooks, the Jackson sisters, our school

also brought us the inept and morale destroying Sister Clunkscales. And
it was Brother Bibbs who also gave us Cocaine Jackson. Yet, like our
inept president, Brother Bibbs continues to be elected for a
position he uses for his own benefit and ONCE financial gain. And
who are these two Reverends... Griffin and Hooper? Are they divinity
school graduates or did they just one day decide to become Reverends?
And why is Brother Dorn ready to sue the county when he is getting an
increase of more black voters? Sure looks like a NAACP suit which falls
under the heading of Racial Injustice. Remember, the NAACP is now a
branch of the American Communist Party and we know their agenda.
And let's not forget our Tax Assessor who doesn't even live in the

Why does she still have a job for which she is not highly qualified?
Better get a handle on this one Brother Dean, unless of course you are
helping Brother Kneece solve his liquor store robbery, which probably
was committed by one of his many friends who hang out in front of the
store passing around the brown paper bag. If we were to look closely
into that bag, there may be phone numbers for jobs these poor jobless
men can get or maybe even child support bills each owes.
Edgefield county is not unlike other small southern towns who have a
cast of characters not qualified to hold positions for which elected by
an ignorant voting base. But, there are some elected officials in our
county who believe in God, justice, and freedom who must fight the
NAACP commies every step of the way until progress is made. Pray for me

sounds like that syrupy sappy post that was protecting Schillitt, e.g.,

educator? Isn't that how they swooned over our last
Superintendent? Oh I forgot, that's because she was a woman of
color and Bibbs and Cooks had to inflate her outward appearance because
her track record surely wasn't anything to swoon over. And you
saw how that worked out didn't you? No toooo gooooood. The only
thing Lenderman has earned is a one way ticket. Don't care who
you are, if your loyalty was such that you carry the water for corrupt
bosses, you become an enabler and are just as guilty. To watch
and not say a word, or to turn a blind eye, you're no better than
they. Lenderman knew what was going on and she allowed it.
That's not a leader, that's a follower!
And you know what they say, first impressions......When I first had

the county not making AYP. If i'm not mistaken, under the leadership of
Dr. Tim Murph, Fox Creek High School has recieved excellent, good,

The Edgefield County School Board of

termination of Superintendent Mary Crenshaw. That decision certainly
was within the duly elected Board's purview, as it may be argued with
some truth that Dr. Crenshaw didn't live up to the promise of moving
the District forward during her time here. However, it would be an
egregious error in judgment and a travesty of justice for our Board to
"throw the baby out with the bathwater" and discard an intelligent,
dedicated and spirited instructional administrator like Dr. Carol
Lenderman in the process. Dr. Lenderman has an impressive resume of
academic credentials and has proven herself as a respected, progressive
instructional leader in this and other school districts and statewide.
She has a good Christian soul, a heart for children and families and
their education, and she is an educational innovator with solid ideas
for the future. Often times, a second-in-command can be only as
successful as the leadership from the top. Even if Dr. Crenshaw's
tenure in Edgefield County may be seen as far from successful, it would
be unfair to judge Carol Lenderman's individual performance against the
backdrop of an arguably ineffective supervisor. In fact, I believe it
would be in the very best interest of the School District to give this
brilliant, dedicated educator a fair chance to prove herself at the top
and to appoint Dr. Carol Lenderman as the new Superintendent. Dr.
Lenderman has earned that chance to lead, and to ignore her experience
and intelligence, to cast aside fairness at this critical juncture in
our county's history, would make the unfortunate situation with Dr.
Crenshaw's lackluster performance a true miscarriage of justice.

I am not mistaken, it was JES & DES at the point of closure because
of their ratings. There were so many people supporting at that time.
There were no talk of replacing any leadership during that time. Now,
you say move forward. How can things move forward when there are so
many people wanting to live in the past? We need to face it, there is
not a lot that this county has to offer our children. Our children are
definitely our future leaders, but how can they know what leadership is

Speeding to work or to school or wherever
on our back roads in October and November is akin to playing Russian
roulette; the deer are moving at all hours as rutting behavior shifts
into high gear. Better back off the gas. I see speeders on our road
practically asking to scoop up a deer in their grille or take one
through their windshield. Many of them are driving in the rain without
lights, which, especially at dawn and dusk, when deer are normally most
active, raises the odds of a serious deer/vehicle collision. Here’s a
4-part plan that could save your life or that of a passenger in your
vehicle: Leave earlier, buckle up, slow down, and turn on your
headlights when it’s raining and between sunset and sunrise. It’s the
law, and it makes sense. Think about it.
The thing that prompted this note was a whizzing gray or black pickup I
met on a curve, on our two-lane county road, in the twilight, during a
steady rain. I guess the driver was “saving” his headlights. I
almost didn’t see that truck at all, and I know darn well its driver
couldn’t have seen a darting deer.
Some deer/vehicle collisions are unavoidable. This writer has been
there. But why tempt Fate by setting yourself up for one that is
preventable? Think about it.

that about the same thing that was done with the principal when HE was
'allowed' to resign for improper conduct? Pushing problems from

I am glad to see that Dr. Crenshaw is
gone. But, she may not be all of the problem. I thoroughly believe that
each principal should fully be evaluated as well as each assistant
principal. A great place to begin is at Douglas Elementary. The
current principal is an embarrassment to the district. She maintains a
closed door policy and has more than once refused to speak to parents
concerning problems in the school. Never before has such occurred in a
school where communication was the key ingredient that held everything
together. It has always been rumored that Mrs. Chera Clark received
this job as she was a direct relative of the last principal. Who knows?
But I do know that the current teachers are in turmoil because Mrs.
Clark does nothing but degrade them and show favoritism among the
student population. An elementary grade principal must be willing to
reach out to her students and faculty. She or he should be loving and
friendly to the students. This is truly lacking in this school.
School board members need to become involved before this small quiet
school becomes a center of turmoil and controversy. Mrs. Clark
adamantly refuses to visit EACH classroom as she is required to do. She
seems afraid of the students, especially the ones classified as special
needs. Why? One teacher has already contacted a lawyer, and it seems
that more and more of this will occur if something isn’t done soon.

I was at the board meeting last night at
which Dr. Crenshaw was terminated. I can understand why the black
community is disappointed that a black superintendent was terminated. I
can understand how the black community would take pride in having a
black superintendent. I believe that the sense of pride of the black
community in one of their own caused them to overlook things going on
in the school district during Dr. Crenshaw's tenure. The recent
incidents with the principal at STHS and the falsification of time
sheets highlighted the problems. Bringing in district office personnel
with padded resumes and online degrees, the implementing of the program
without faculty voting in support of the program as mandated by the
program itself, the low test scores, the failure to meet about one half
of the standards for AYP at STHS, the human resources problems, the
shocking choices for mentors, and the like can be easy to overlook or
to excuse.
Of greater concern to me was what happened after the meeting was
adjourned. One of the black men in the audience went over to the
microphone, which was still "hot." He asked if anyone in the crowd had
a football player. Several responded that they did. He then announced
that they should sit them out this Friday night. Several in the
audience voiced support for that. I talked to a few of them, including
the one who made the request that they sit out their kids. I tried to
explain that it would hurt the kids and that athletics were the best
shot some would have to further their education. One of the women, I
believe a former board member, made the comment (paraphrased) that if
they were not good enough to have a black superintendent, they were not
good enough to play on Friday night and some other comments along that
line. It is disturbing that some of the parents thought that hurting
their own kids was an appropriate response to having a black
superintendent terminated.
I have seen no references in the media about what transpired after the
meeting.

So... The people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now

Now understand this. All great democracies have committed financial

reason? The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from

the treasury in exchange for electing them.
The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 235 years ago.
The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people

approximately 250 observers in the JET cafeteria for the meeting, at
least two Augusta television reporters, a local NAACP chairman
addressing the white school board members with racial accusations, and
one local woman pleading with the school board to know what is going
on. Did that sweet little lady miss something that all the others

think there might be some unmistakable evidence of collusion going on
with Bibbs, Cooks, Crenshaw, and the NAACP? Do you think they
called the news media? Does this gang of racial bullies have any
business running a school district? This gang obviously believes
that Crenshaw does not deserve to be judged on her performance… abysmal
(below 70%) SC State PASS scores and a high school (STHS) that only met
7 of 19 AYP objectives!? Hello! When the school district is
failing, the leadership must be CHANGED! I applaud the board

conservatives have been called racist because they have disagreed with

Mr. Cain truly cares about helping this country get back on its feet.
People really need to think about whether they are better off today

Let Crenshaw and her thugs in the NAACP sue for "racism" or

documented ineptness - filing such law suits actually further
substantiates their decision. Let me ask you this - How can

Seems to me that's not racism, that's the result of your own

Missing men in the family. Real
men. That's what the problem is. Crenshaw's husband is a
so-called Marine, who took an oath of loyalty to protect his country,
to protect his fellow man, yet he cowers behind her allowing her to get
away with what she is doing-destroying his own culture, destroying
opportunity for his own people, showing no loyalty to anyone but
themselves. Bibbs was also a so-called Army veteran who also took
the same oath. He too has betrayed his people by owing allegiance
to only himself and those like the Crenshaws. That's pretty
pathetic. Where is your honor men? Where is your
honor? You disgrace your own people, you disgrace God, all for
what? To get back at white people that did you wrong that
probably are no longer alive? Or to get back at white people for
doing wrong to your ancestors? What have you done to get even with
those Africans that sold your race into slavery? Guess you won't
go there, you wouldn't be afforded the same protections, or luxuries,
as you get here in the U.S.
And your feigned hatred continues. So what does that do for the
children, instill the same hatred and contempt in their hearts as you
have, or was instilled in your heart? It's males like you that
are robbing your children of dignity and opportunity. You perpetuate
your own misery and because you had to get down for the struggle, as
Sharpton puts it, you think everyone who follows has to bear the
same. And you call yourself men. That's what is missing in
the black community-REAL MEN. Anyone can be a radical.
Anyone can grow to hate. But real men love their children and
teach them HONOR, love, respect, and faith. Guess you can't teach
what you don't have - HONOR, FAITH. These self-promoting, money
grubbing, faithless beings are not men, they're wimps! Look at
the mentors put forth - Bibbs? Griffin? Cooks? The
Crenshaws? Mary Alice Jackson? Dorn? Clyburn?
Nathaniel Jackson? Like the Marines, the black community is
looking for a Few Good Men.
Now you so-called men, get back out there and beat your NAACP drums,
get back out there and agitate and intimidate, get back out there and
use the backs of your own people to enrich yourselves, get back out
there and bad mouth Bill Cosby, Herman Cain, Michael Steele, Condileeza
Rice, Alan West, and the many others that rose above the hatred and
made something of themselves instead of wollering in their own
self-pity. You see, it's really not self-pity - race baiting is a
business, and the race baiters are exploiting their own people far
worse than the whites ever did.

Did y'all see Diane Sawyer's special report? They removed ALL items
from a typical, middle class family's home that were not made in the
USA or CANADA . There was hardly anything left besides the kitchen
sink. Literally. During the special they showed truckloads of items -
USA and CANADIAN made - being brought in to replace everything and
talked about how to find these items and the difference in price,
etc...
It was interesting that Diane said if every American OR CANADIAN spent
just $64 more than normal on USA OR CANADIAN made items this year, it
would create something like 200,000 new jobs!
I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT WAL-MART and ON THE LABEL OF SOME
PRODUCTS IT SAID 'FROM CHINA ' FOR EXAMPLE THE "OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF
THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN 'FROM CHINA ' I WAS SHOCKED
SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE
SINCE IT'S FROM CALIF.
Are we Americans and Canadians as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it
that we just do not think. The Chinese, knowingly and intentionally,
export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to
be sold in American and Canadians markets.
70% of Americans and Canadians believe that the trading privileges
afforded to the Chinese should be suspended. Why do you need the
government to suspend trading privileges? DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA and
CANADA.!!
Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says
'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong ), simply
choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how
dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed
at what you can do without.
Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use
real ones and benefit some Canadian or American farmer. Easter is just
an example. The point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go
ahead and assume control on your own.
THINK ABOUT THIS: If 200 million Americans and Canadians each refuse to
buy just $20 of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance
resolved in our favor...fast!!
Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning
on implementing this on October. 1st and continue it until November
1st. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the
Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American and Canadian
exports. Then they might have to ask themselves if the benefits of
their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

I think that all of this mess with the
Board's evaluation of Crenshaw could be seen for what it really is (not
being the color of her skin) but the true reality of her performance
here, if people would just look at the facts since she took over the
district. Look at turnover rates among teachers and district
level employees, PASS scores, PASS scores since TAP was put in place
involuntarily, teacher morale, student performance, out of district
hirees (even when there is "a hiring freeze" according to the
district), the increase in accusations of behaviors and questionable
activity since she arrived, unhappiness among, yes, I dare say, other
black employees excluding those she allows to rule how they choose
because of skin color, and the list goes on. Just because someone
is black, does not mean that when their performance is due for
evaluation, as hers is, that since she is black the truth should be
pushed aside at any cost because the NAACP (who supposedly were
"leaked" the reason for the meeting) or any other person/group/idea can
instantly use skin color as a defense.
I am not racist. In fact I work with many black people, who I honestly
enjoy working with. The truth of the matter isn't skin color, it
is doing the job to the best of one's ability with the best interest
and proven performance ability of the students here in the district
that should be looked at, like the rest of the working world. The color
of someone's skin should have no effect on hiring or firing. We
are all judged on job performance in some way or another, but color, as
always is stated on job applications, can not be used to disriminate
someone who is being hired. When will people white and black use the
true quality and aptitude to accept the evaluations they receive? All
we all can do is our best, take the constructive criticism, and use it
to improve, not destroy our society and the children who are our future
to carry on how we treat others and do what is right.

out its usefullness and is looking for problems when there isn't one.
Its how they make money. So it wasn't racist when the board passed on a
qualified white canidate because he was white, yet when a "colored
person" =(its what the NAACP uses in there name, so that is the term I
shall use.)
is doing a poor job, had a horrible job performance at a prior job but
is hired because of the color of their skin, its not racist. The Oxford
dictionary defines racism as "the belief that all members of each race
possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race
, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another
race or races:" so using the true definition of racism, who is being
racist? Its you Dr Griffin and your NAACP friends. Your article quoted
Dr. Griffin as saying " We thought we were through with racism but we
see racism isn't through with us' He is indeed correct, as long as you

down to the color of one’s skin. If Dr. Crenshaw was so wonderful, why
would we be in the mess we are in today? Why would we have kindergarten
classes with 30 students in them? Why would we have a Homecoming Court
at Strom Thurmond composed primarily of black candidates? Why would we
have law suit after law suit because of special education concerns? She

Why does everything have to revert back to
skin color? David Mathis wasn't given a chance to lead our
district...and it was because of his skin color....and the skin color
of the board that voted. The job performance of Dr. Crenshaw has
nothing to do with her skin color...it has everything to do with her
inability to do the job she was hired for. A speaker last night
said that we must all come together as brothers and sisters....but that
isn't what you really want. The NAACP wants free reign in our
educational system regardless of the results...or the harm done to our
children. If children of color already have "strikes against"
them simply because of their skin color, I would think that the
organizations fighting in their favor would want them to be exposed to
the best education possible...yet our current leader isn't doing
that...quite the opposite. Yes, I do work in the ECSD...but I
have no axe to grind with Dr. Crenshaw...yet I have seen the school
district steadily decline since her hiring. I could care less
about her skin color...what I do care about are the decisions she makes
and the the success of our district as a whole. If Dr. Crenshaw
were white or purple, I would still be questioning the operations of
our district and why we are going in the opposite direction of up...for
those of you who don't know what that direction is, it is down...at a
very rapid pace. This decline will not only affect our community
by way of industry declining to operate in an area with a poor
educational system that equals a poor work force, but it affects the
children who do want a better future, a future that includes a college
education and job that can support them. My biggest question is
where was the NAACP when Dr. Frank Roberson was in his contract
negotiations with the ECSB? I can answer that...they didn't
care what happened to Dr. Roberson because he didn't promote their
agenda...he promoted EVERY child in Edgefield County and didn't always
"play the race card" in tough decisions that he had to make. I am
a christian but do not hide behind my religion to cover up sins I have
committed unlike many involved in this situation. Isn't it
time that we played on an equal playing field...and not one determined
by the pigment of our skin? Hire another leader of color...one
that is competent...but this one has to finally answer for her
failings. But, again, some have their own agenda to promote...and
that agenda has nothing to do with educating our children.

Well, well, well. Isn't that
amazing. Bro Bibbs and Sister Sallie, and where's Nate, rally the
NAACP troops to threaten and intimidate everyone into keeping more of
the same - INCOMPETANCE! And again, when they begin using the
race card, you know you're on the right track. Is this deja vu ( http://www.edgefielddaily.com/letter052209.html
) or what?
Now one must ask, what's the difference between what Crensahw, Bibbs,
and Cooks are doing and what Obama is doing? Incompetence at both
levels, and the only remaining strategy they have is to agitate and
intimidate. How can the so-called preacher say it's a racist
Board? Didn't the new Board obatin their postion by virtue of
elections? Didn't the people say they were sick and tired of the
babbling ramblings of incompetant boobs like Viola Jackson in a very
heavy black district, and vote her out? Didn't the voters say
they didn't want the bumbling ramblings of another drug trafficking
racist, Nathaniel Jackson, by electing their representative? And even
after the NAACP threw their support behind Cocaine Jackson and Brother
Bibbs shuttled voters to the polls. You see, once again, thank
you Obama, Bibbs, Cooks, Clyburn, Crenshaw - you have effectively
discarded the race card. The race card is no longer a trump card
unless of course it's the Ace of Spades.
Let me see, when incompetence first reared its head, they came up with
affirmative action. When the system became corrupted and
dysfunctional because it was promoting incompetence and not merit based
on one's color, people woke up. So the tactics had to
change. They went to the race card outright. And guess
what? The same results. Those who used the race card to
advance their own positions, careers, and agendas, again corrupted the
system, and it broke. Now, that they do not have a fall back
position, they are going to try to use violence and intimidation.
First Crenshaw and her thug friends in the NAACP blame Kemp, Jackson
and Brown. They essentially went away, but the results remained
the same-the incompetence is still there. Now, Crenshaw and her
thug friends in the NAACP are blaming a racist Board for her
incompetence. Guess the school boards in Clarendon and Dorchester
were racists too, huh? It's a shame, this racism thing, it's just
so prevalent it follows you where ever you go. It just couldn't
be incompetence could it?
Hey, big tip - the NAACP is fighting hard to keep Crenshaw in her
position and a preacher from the local church has weighed in.
Follow the money. Follow the money. Crenshaw = Grant
writing company = Grants awarded to local churches = contributions to
the NAACP through congregation membership = MONEY, MONEY, MONEY for
those at the top. And for you poor saps that blindly support
Crenshaw and her thug friends in the NAACP, you still get nothing, you
still get a poor education, and with poor education you get poor jobs,
and with poor jobs, you get assistance from the government, and with
the government assistance you get gangs, drugs, crime, murder,
violence, and the cycle perpetuates itself. So go ahead black
community, go ahead, support Crenshaw and the NAACP.

Americans for Tax Reform president Grover
Norquist sent the following letter today to Warren Buffett.
Dear Warren:
I have solved your problem.
You have mentioned in passing that you feel unhappy that you do not pay
enough money to the government each year in taxes.
As it turns out, you don’t need to wait for President Obama to sign
legislation raising taxes on you. You can open up your checkbook right
now, write a check payable to the United States Treasury, and drop it
in the nearest mailbox (or just hand it to your “secretary”). Problem
solved.
Here are the details below, taken directly from the U.S. Department of
the Treasury website:
How do I make a contribution to the U.S. government?
Citizens who wish to make a general donation to the U.S. government may
send contributions to a specific account called "Gifts to the United
States." This account was established in 1843 to accept gifts, such as
bequests, from individuals wishing to express their patriotism to the
United States. Money deposited into this account is for general use by

matter if none of the schools that are actually run by her met AYP

that skin color doesn't matter. Effectiveness does. Keep

doesn't seem to be a common thread they are protesting against
everything. From their comments and actions it appears they are
doing the sound bites for the democrats especially Obama. These
youth look as if they are on the campaign trail. News reports
state they are being supported and funded by big unions and hollywood

liberal agenda and shouting that the wealthy should share what they

Saw on the news where the student protesters in Chile are demanding the

First, how many of you know who Hank
Wlliams Jr. is? And, how many of you knew he was still
alive? Well, another great American, just again, revealed the
bias of the media, and the true "colors" of ESPN. Where were all
of those that called George Bush Hitler? Where were all of those
that made reference to Bush and Hitler in the same sentence?
Exactly! But because it's their beloved man-child, the Messiah,
everyone is up in arms about Hank's association. But Hank is
correct. Obama is more like Hitler than Bush ever was. To
centralize power for the Fatherland, Hitler began to systematically
seize and take control of the larger companies and make them property
of the State. How many companies does Obama own-a, GM, GE,
Chrysler, etc. To stir up trouble and support, and to destroy
political enemies Hitler had the Brown Shirts, beat up and intimidate
people on the streets, organize public rallies and riots, and
essentially bully citizens. Obama with his Union Thugs, NAACP
thugs, Black Panthers have done what, and, are doing what? Voting
stations in Philadelphia-Black Panthers; Wall Street protests - punks
and Union Thugs. Wisconsin protests - Union Thugs. SC Boeing -
Union Thugs. Verizon - Union Thugs. Fast and Furious - a lawless
government Thug - Eric Holder.
So you see, Hank had it right. And regardless of what the media says,
Hank more than likely won't be treated like the Dixie Chicks.
He'll actually be lauded. The Dixie Chicks were bashing their
President overseas to gain popularity with the leftists in
Europe. They paid the price. Hank bashed his President
here, but actually swerved into the truth in the comparison.
As for ESPN - who cares about them. Their exploitation of black
athletes is no different than the NFL's - but on the surface they have
to look like they're supporting a black President. Wake up black
community - supporting this black President isn't getting you anything
- no check, no ca, no free rent, no free house, nuttin. And, if
you're honest with yourself - the party you so vehemently support year
after year, decade after decade hasn't gotten you anything either, has
it?

and to upgrade the system is not something Northland cares about doing.
Edgefield and the Aiken system were tied together at one time but
Atlantic Broadband did not want the outdated Edgefield system so the
company bought the Aiken and Barnwell systems and their systems are
updated.
The regional office for Northland is out of Statesboro Ga and (removed)
is the regional director and if I am not mistaken part owner. The number
there is (912)489-8715. The local managers can do nothing without Mr
(removed) telling them what to do or say.Managers that do not go along
with this policy are no longer working for Northland . It would not
suprise me if Northland puts the cable system up for sale and you will
know when this happens because a salesman will come a knocking and give
you the world to sign up. If you get no satisfaction from calling the
regional office I would encourage you to get a dish . And who knows the

the number and height of the trees in my yard neither provider could
find a place where I would get a clear signal. When I originally
switched to the digital lineup with HD channels I did so with the
promise of ESPNU,(which has since gone away) Northland had been
advertising ESPNU now available on the community channel, yet when the
installer came, I was notified that I would not get that channel, I
called the supervisor to complain and was told, he was unaware of the
issue. They have taken off family channels to replace them with
useless ones. When my lineup was first set up I was able to get ALL of
the channels because I was on the greenwood system, It took about three
days before I was switched because of our local network affiliates. It
seems to me that Edgefield needs to either rebid the service, although
I doubt anyone would want it because they system is archaic, or why
can't we file a class action lawsuit against Northland , we are paying
for a lineup that we are not getting. Our bill should be adjusted
accordingly, why I am paying for an advertised lineup that is not
available? I can't get satellite and even the local digital is a bad

Kudos to councilwoman Blackwell. Nice to know someone wants to keep

The argument a lot of people have made about how TAP was implemented
last year is valid. It should have been handled better. However, now
that it is here please explain what it is you do not like about it. The
program is intended for staff growth and improvement. Every other
profession has to be held accountable, why not educators? Maybe your
friends at JET that are so unhappy with the administration are the
problem, not the leadership.
Before you run down Mrs. Holmes for being "run off" from MMS, just
remember that Parker Elementary has met AYP more times during her
tenure as principal than MES and MMS combined. If she was "run off" as

No one seems to have a handle on what they are protesting

wasn't quite clear what their aim was except to complain about the
wealthy. Looking at the crowd one wonders who they
represent. They seem to have a lot of time on their hands and one
couple complained that they had extremely high student loans to pay
back. Wonder who they think should pay those?
If I didn't know better I would guess that the "head community
organizer -in- chief" was behind this action. After all he is in
campaign mode. How sad that he continues to blame his ineptness
on the republicans and whines that they won't just pass his jobs

candidates for not rebuking those in the audience who were booing when
the military man asked if they would uphold the new ruling regarding
gays in the military. Even the moderators said afterwards they
did not hear the remarks. I don't think anyone was booing the

heterosexual or homosexual, transgender or whatever. Those issues
should be private. Be what you want to be - I just don't want to

When President Obama says that the rich
don't pay their share of taxes, he is lying, distorting, and demagoging.
Here are the facts according to the IRS:
? Those making more than $1 million pay 24% of income in taxes
? Those making $200,000 to $300,000 pay 17.5%
? Those making $100,000 to $125,000 pay 9.9%
? Those making $50,000 to $60,000 pay 6.3%
? Those making $20,000 to $30,000 pay 2.5%
And what of millionaires who pay no taxes?
There are 1,470 of them. They represent six-tenths of one percent
of all those with million dollar incomes in the U.S. If we assume
that they make an average income of $2 million a year each, taxing them
at the same rate as other millionaires (24.4%) would yield $367
million, which would increase Treasury income tax revenues by 30
one-hundredths of one percent or one-third of one-tenth of one percent!
Overall, the IRS reports that the revenues from the income tax are
sharply skewed toward taxes on the rich:
? The top 1% pays 39%
? The top 5% pays 60%
? The top 10% pays 72%
? The bottom half pays 3%
So who does Obama think he is kidding?

She was right -- our generation didn't have the green thing in its day.
Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to

We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store

But she was right. We didn't have the green thing in our day.
Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the
throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy
gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really
did dry the clothes. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their
brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that old lady
is right; we didn't have the green thing back in our day.
Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every
room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief
(remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana.
In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have
electric machines to do everything for us.
When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used a wadded
up old newspaper to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.
Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut
the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We
exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on
treadmills that operate on electricity. But she's right; we didn't have
the green thing back then.
We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or
a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled
writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the
razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just
because the blade got dull.
But we didn't have the green thing back then.
Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes
to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24 hour taxi
service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of
sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a
computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000
miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint.
But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old
folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then?

Editor's post: The Wandering Minds and reports have been
limited tonight. I suppose I should have listened to my doctor about
limiting my activities this week.
As for Tim Crane's perfect record of predicting outcomes of Rebel
games, his prediction for last night was Thurmond 42 Columbia 21. The
final score? Thurmond 49-20. This guy is good! Know what he knows by
purchasing his book: Strom Thurmond
Rebels: The First Fifty Years.

Thank you to Roads and Bridges for coming
out recently with the side arm mower here in the Horn Creek West/Moody
Ridge area and cutting the roadsides and trimming protruding brush. The
work was sorely needed. The operator/ operators did great job and
seemed to be conscientious in his effort. Whoever these individuals are
your efforts’ are appreciated. We obviously wish it could be done more
than once a year but are grateful it did get done.

Ref. informal meeting with Tax Assessor...
Another Edgefield county tax payer has met one of the county's biggest
hiring mistakes and as expected
has gone away in dismay. Contact our County Administrator and all will
be well. I doubt it seriously. Our
temporary Administrator is going to do nothing. If Charles Manson were
our Tax Assessor, this Administrator does not want to rock the boat,
but continue to allow an obviously inept person make a good salary at
our expense.....and this obvious Obama acolyte does not live in our
county. What is wrong with this picture?
What is wrong with this picture is no one has the Bibbs intestinal
fortitude to do anything about it. Mr. LuDuc plans to let someone else
deal with the Tax Assessor not performing in accordance to standard.
Probably, the 'Someone Else' will ignore the problematic Tax Assessor
and so on. It is the county Tax payers who are suffering at the hands
of someone less qualified than the people who work for her. Why?
Because she still can not pass the written certification standards
required fot the position. And, yet no one has given a tinkers (dang)
to look into this matter. No wonder anyone with a brain would never,
ever buy and/or relocate to this county where morons, fools and
incompetents make the rules. And while you plan to do nothing about
this inept Tax Assessor, Mr. LuDuc, why not give amnesty to all the sex
offenders who are living confortabely in our county? How many more tax
payers out there have met the Tax Assessor and have the same attitude
as I? Pray for me sisters.
Editor's note: Complaints to the Wandering Minds do not equal a
complaint to the Administrator or a County Council member. Those are
the ones (and there have been some) that get their attention.

I recently sent in information regarding
the Jason Dickey manslaughter conviction being reversed by the SC
Supreme Court. Great, you would think that would make an INNOCENT man,
who now has NO CONVICTION a free man. WRONG, It seems our Attorney
General likes to waste taxpayer money. First the AG has 15 days to file
asking for a rehearing- it would have to be heard by the SC Supreme
Court again- which they will deny, Then it has to wait on a judge to
deny the hearing and sign his release. So whats the big deal, are his
feelings hurt a person with a cwp lawfully used his weapon in SELF
DEFENSE? Is this a political move or just his money wasting policy. It
could be 30 more days before Mr Dickey is released from the Dept of
Corrections. I know this is just one inmate but how much is it going to
cost the taxpayers to keep this innocent man in prison for the next
month, what if he gets injured during that time, is Mr Wilson going to
pay for his treatment, no the taxpayers would be on the hook.what if
its a permanent disability? I wrote(for what its worth) Gov. Haley
asking her to look into this , there is no reason to file a motion to
rehear this case, it was a 4-1 decision, Does he think they are going
to change their mind, the facts aren't going to change.Maybe the AG
office doesn't need as much money in the next budget since they like to
waste it.

Interesting that now Obamacare is going to
the Supreme Court, some Democrats in Congress are suggesting that
Clarence Thomas be investigated. Hmmmmm.... anyone else see the
connection here? I bet Clarence Thomas has a good lawyer and I
bet these are some obscure accusations. This is an intelligent man we
are talking about.

I guess being a DC politician changes
people or you weren't the person you professed to be in the first
place. Tried for months to get an apppointment to speak to Rep Barrett,
never happened- you had to send a letter and ask, then they decided if
you go to meet with him or not, he leaves office, so I try to get an
appt. to speak with Duncan, after all the Representatives are suppose
to REPRESENT the people of their district, The Senators represent the
State of SC, at least thats how it was suppose to work. I can';t get an
appointment, been waiting months, Duncan says he was in Edgefield
yesterday, yet the press release he posted on Sept 21 said nothing
about Edgefield. When I posted on the facebook page that his
release didntn say Edgefield, my post was deleted, as a matter of fact
every time I post it gets deleted, I have never once posted anything
degoratory, mean spirited, or otherwise rude, It seems either he or his
staff dont like it when you ask them a question. I made the statement
that my sister had been waiting on an appointment for months and I was
told " We can't discuss the details of your sisters case" huh, did I
ask, no and how do they know the details he refuses to meet with her,
yet someone else posted that they needed to speak with him for a
minute and they were told to "come on down, we will try to fit you in"
I will remember how he has no time for the little person come re
election time.Shame on you Rep Duncan.
Editor's note: I do not know of a visit on Thursday, however; Rep.
Duncan was in Edgefield on Wednesday for private meetings and press
availability between 1 and 2 pm. Due to scheduling conflicts on our
part an interview was unable to be set up.

Can you believe this? A teacher takes
points off students grades if
they
say
"bless
you" when some sneezes! But he can put up a posted
of two men kissing and tells the kids they have to accept homs as
normal? OMG....ooops, I just got an F. They should fire this pervert!
Editor's note: A search of the teacher's name did not turn up any
results. This
report did match your second claim, though it is a different
teacher at a different school.
