I’ve known Dean (Campbell, County
Council-elect) for the better part of my life and I cannot see him
trying to get Mr. Dorn and Mr. Bright to vote him in as chairman
without his fellow Republicans doing the same. I don’t understand why
all the attention is surrounding Dean anyway. He won’t even take his
seat until January of next year so why all the hype?

We live on Copeland (Circle, Carr Estates)
and couldn’t believe what NA is planning
to do. I (darn) sure don’t want a (removed) ball park in our back
yard!!! I knew they owned property near us but had no idea it was that
much and that (removed) close! Is this a done deal or is there anything
we can do to stop this?
Editor’s note: The City of North Augusta owns the property and a park
is allowed under the unwanted zoning placed on Merriwether by the
County Council back in 1999 and 2000. As with any other major
construction project it should have to be approved by the planning
commission and the County Council.
Contact your County
Council member and follow up by attending the meetings each first
Tuesday of every month at 6 pm.

That is scary. How come there hasn’t been anything about this in the

Editor’s note: The proposed park has been mentioned in several reports

Nice bit a scare tactic by the editor. NA has no intention of annexing
your stupid little hick community into our town. How about giving facts
next time.
Editor’s note: The facts are given in the op-ed including maps. But to
your claim North Augusta has no interest in swallowing up Merriwether,
might I direct your attention to your City Administrator Sam Bennett’s

Well Well, seems it is time for the new councilman to address this and
in a hurry. The folks in Johnston did not want to have another
democrat or they would have voted for the one that SAID he was a
democrat. What say you Dean?
The council chair may be in your future, but not as a first term
councilman. A vote for Miss Blackwell or Mr Ashcroft would do us
all good.
Republican. Time to prove you are a man of your word.
Editor's note: I believe it would be improper for Mr. Campbell to

Editor’s note: It was a great win. However, the season for us is not

But, since you ashed, just to name a few; Accounts Receivable Tax,
Capital Gains Tax, Cigarette Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Federal Income
Tax, Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA), Fishing License Tax, Gasoline Tax
(42 cents per gallon), Hunting License Tax, Inheritance Tax Interest
expense (tax on the money - Death Tax), Inventory tax IRS Interest
Charges (tax on top of tax), Medicare Tax, Property Tax, Real Estate
Tax, Road Usage Taxes (Road Maint. $20 per vehicle), Sales Taxes,
Recreational Vehicle Tax, School Tax, State Income Tax, State
Unemployment Tax (SUTA), Telephone federal excise tax, Telephone
federal universal service fee tax, Telephone federal, state and local
surcharge taxes, Telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, Telephone
recurring and non-recurring charges tax, Telephone state and local tax,
Telephone usage charge tax, Utility Taxes, Vehicle License Registration
Tax, Vehicle Sales Tax, Watercraft registration Tax, Workers
Compensation Tax, and on and on and on... Starting to get the idea?
OK. How would someone on welfare vs. a family making $60K per
year be impacted differently by these taxes? That was the point
of the original post. My point was that one would have to be
foolish or ill informed if they believe a family making $60,000 gross
pays $13,034 in Federal income taxes, medicare and social security
taxes in one year. If you can refute this is a foolish position
to take, make your point. I don't see how your list of taxes is
germane to the OP.
Editor's note: You asked for me to name the taxes that I had to pay
above and beyond those listed. I did so. Now you want to change the
subject. Typical of the left when met with facts.

on all the racial issues in the wandering Mind. (No Offense to Mr.
Editor ...... I don't have any racial issues and yes there are some
grammatical errors in your post but I like the way you described the
situation at one elementary school in Edgefield County. Your
description of the principals is 100% accurate. It is almost like
watching actors in a play as they go about their daily activities. As
far as parents becoming involved they are not welcome and your concerns
will never be addressed. It is a complete waste of time to speak with
the one in charge and that is not the way it should be. Educating our
children is a joint effort between parents, teachers and the school. It
is not about "I have your child for the day and I know what is
best" not you as their parent. I no longer brag on our elementary
school as I once did. I am now envious of other districts in
neighboring counties. Our school is no longer welcoming with a positive
environment. It is apparent everywhere you look from the carnival to
the veterans day play. The play was great and the veterans
participating were very touching but what happened to evening
performances that all could attend i.e. siblings, working people etc.
It was always an enjoyable outing at the school but that has all
changed. There are other choices but sometimes people can't make a
school change that easily. You are not alone in your thoughts and
perhaps more people should speak out about their concerns.

A pretty little girl named Suzy was
standing on the sidewalk in front of her home. Next to her was a basket
containing a number of tiny creatures; in her hand was a sign
announcing
FREE KITTENS.
Suddenly a line of big black cars pulled up beside her. Out of the lead
car stepped a tall, grinning man. "Hi there little girl, I'm President
Obama. What do you have in the basket?" he asked.
"Kittens," little Suzy said. "How old are they?" asked Obama. Suzy
replied, "They're so young, their eyes aren't even open yet."
"And what kind of kittens are they?" "Democrats," answered Suzy
with a smile.
Obama was delighted. As soon as he returned to his car, he called his
PR chief and told him
about the little girl and the kittens. Recognizing the perfect
photo op, the two men agreed that the president should return the next
day; and in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her
discerning kittens.
So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the sidewalk with her
basket of "FREE KITTENS,"
when another motorcade pulled up, this time followed by vans from ABC,
NBC, CBS and CNN.
Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then Obama got out of
his limo and walked
over to little Suzy.
"Hello, again," he said, "I'd love it if you would tell all my friends
out there what kind of kittens
you're giving away." "Yes sir," Suzy said. "They're Republicans."
Taken by surprise, the president stammered, "But... but... yesterday,
you told me they were DEMOCRATS."
Little Suzy smiled and said, "I know. But today, they have their
eyes open."

Re: Barking Dogs
I salute the gentlemen who wrote regarding the responsibility to keep
one's pets, specifically dogs, under control. I hope and
pray that pet owners will take these words to heart and consider how
they are injuring those around them with the incessant noise pollution
that is the constant barking of their dogs.
I am now retired, but for thirty-five years I worked in a very noisy
environment, and I moved from a crowded neighborhood with inconsiderate
and irresponsible neighbors who thought it was their right to allow
their animals to disturb everyone within earshot. Constant noise
has been proven to be a serious long term health hazard. In this
case that noise is easily preventable with a little thought and
effort. A truly quiet evening is an all to rare event, and it
doesn't seem to last long enough.
I urge everyone who generates noise whether it be with a leaf blower,
chain saw, lawn mower or barking dog to please consider the time of day
and those in the vicinity who may be impacted. Those who enjoy
unmuffled motorcycles and loud pipes on trucks aren't doing anyone any
favors, either. ALL noise should be considered to be adverse, and
your efforts to pass quietly through this life will yield huge
dividends. My motto is: "The less I am noticed, the better."

Apparently what some of readers of
EdgefieldDaily, as reflected in comments to Wandering Minds, have not
picked up on, heard rumbling in political and elite circles is that
Dean Campbell is negotiating with the two Democrats on County Council
to elect him Chairman. He's posturing to them as someone who will
tolerate their nonsense while keeping the other two Republicans
"in-check". Of course Dean is getting his instructions along these
lines quietly behind the scenes from Bettis Rainsford and company. Dean
would sell his soul to the devil to acquire power. As Mayor of Johnston
he used that power to rack up a fiscal record on par with Nancy Pelosi
and Harry Reid (on a percentage basis - deficit spending, etc.).
Ironically he's now touting his "experience" as the Mayor of
Johnston, whose voters eventually removed from office for his
liberal spending and incompetence, as the rationale for naming him
Chairman. So much for the GOP taking control of Edgefield County
Council. You're about to have Dean Campbell become chief water boy for
Bettis with the votes of two Democrats while leaving the Republicans
who have been fighting the good fight out in the cold. Residents of
Campbell's County Council District should contact him immediately and
demand that he vote for Councilmember Blackwell for Chair of County
Council.

I would like to comment on all the racial
issues in the wandering Mind. (No Offense to Mr. Editor ). I am sick
& tired of White this , Black that, Mexican why. One thing we all
should realize is that we are all humans , and people do make mistakes.
Look @ the situation about Strom Thurmond. Just because he had an
affair with a black women @ fathered a child or children , did
that stop him from becoming state senator ? Look @ all the Black
& white marriages , do that stop people from accompolishing
their goal ? NO. If you think things are bad go into our public schools
, and then you will be able to see THE PROBLEM. @ one of the elem
schools in the Edgefield county district, there is 1 half of a
principal, & 2 halfs of asst. principals. One of the AP got a big
head because (he/she) is one of the Ap's. (removed)
If some of the parents would just come in and see about your child the
situation would get better. If there is a fight between 2 students both
of them should be punished, not 1. All I want to say is that I am going
to take care of mine regardless. It seems like only 1 race can do the
wrong thing. On another note MR . Jackson got a right to fight for
himself , because if he do not nobody else will. I just think one day I
am going to spill the whole bag of beans about this particular school.
I can not wait . Blacks and whites are the same, Because God said
everything he nade was Good. We will live with sin until the day we
die. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT EVERYONE SHOULD THINK ABOUT.

Dear American Taxpayer
For only the second time in my adult life, I am not ashamed of my
country. I want to thank the hard working American people for paying
$242 thousand dollars for my vacation in Spain . My daughter Sasha,
several long-time family friends, my personal staff and various guests
had a wonderful time.. Honestly, you just haven't lived until you
have stayed in a $2,500..00 per night suite at a 5-Star luxury
hotel. Thank you also for the use of Air Force 2 and the 70
Secret Service personnel who tagged along to be sure we were safe and
cared for at all times.
Air Force 2 only used 47,500 gallons of jet fuel for this trip and
carbon emissions were a mere 1,031 tons of CO2. These are only rough
estimates, but they are close. That's quite a carbon footprint as my
good friend Al Gore would say, so we must ask the American citizens to
drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars and drive less too, so we can
lessen our combined carbon footprint.
I know times are hard and millions of you are struggling to put food on
the table and trying to make ends meet. I do appreciate your
sacrifice and do hope you find work soon. I was really exhausted
after Barack took our family on a luxury vacation in Maine a few weeks
ago. I just had to get away for a few days.
Cordially,
Michelle (Moochelle) Obama

Mr. Editor
Social Security is 6.2%. Medicare is 1.45%. Added together,
they are 7.65%. What "other taxes" you talking about? Name
them.
I said the Miss State Income tax was probably overstated as well.
Paying $3000 on $60000 is 5% and highly unlikely. What local
taxes are you talking about? I didn't see those in the example
given.
Here is my point, I laid out what a $60,000 gross income would look
like on a form 1040. I am not sure how you can reconsile your
beliefs that a family making a gross of $60,000 is paying $13,034 in
Soc Sec, Medicare and Fed Income Tax, while also stating that "nearly
50% of those who pay no income taxes". $60,000 gross isn't alot
of money. Not much more than those 50% who pay no income tax
make.
So, please name the taxes I left out that you called "other taxes".

it, is that certain elected officials over the years have gotten this
county in such BAD shape, they honestly don't know how to fix it so

Re: ordinances on barking dogs.
I couldn’t get into my email account fast enough to respond. I too live
out in a rural section of the county, own dogs myself and have nuisance
dogs in the area. Although we do not know all of the circumstances
between these neighbors, I tend to sympathize with the man having to
tolerate the barkers. Something does not have to be loud to be a
nuisance.
Mainly out of a love of all the natural things the Lord has blessed us
with I had wanted since I was a young man to own my own property one
day. My goal was to have a place set aside where all things natural,
trees wildlife, etc.., could exist and flourish without the constant
and negative impacts of us humans such as sprawl, waste, noise and
crime. A small refuge. My hope was that long after I was gone that this
place could be a small, natural, peaceful space in the middle of the
sprawling madness our world is becoming. A sanctuary for things natural
and the people that appreciated them.
I struggled and sacrificed for many years to achieve my goal. At one
point I was using a sleeping bag for a couch and a cardboard box as a
place to eat my meals. Also during those early years I could not afford
to rent or buy any type of equipment, so much work was done the hard
way – by hand and sweat of the brow. Fortunately those days are behind
me. I have been blessed with a wife that shares my love of natural
things and been blessed with the resources to improve and restore the
property from years of erosion, neglect and logging.
The one problem that we have is one that has plagued us for many years
– inconsiderate dog owners and their animals. Whether it has been dogs
running game on our property, nuisance barking or using our property as
a “defecation station”, it seems to be an unending problem. I did not
work so hard and sacrifice so much to tolerate any of the above. It has
been a great struggle with my Christian upbringing at times not to take
matters into my own hands, when those that are responsible for doing
something, do not handle the problems effectively and objectively.
We live at the end of a dirt road on a remote hundred acre tract, yet
we cannot even open our windows at night in the Spring or Fall because
of a neighbors dogs incessant barking. The root of the problem seems to
be the inconsiderate dim wits that believe their animals deserve more
freedom than the average person has. For every nuisance domestic animal
there is likely a characterless owner for that animal. Got a dog? Then
you are obligated to feed, water and care for it. Caring for an animal
includes containment and control, for its safety and everyone else’s.
Caring also includes at a minimum some basic form of training and
interaction. This is necessary to keep the dog from becoming a
neglected, barking (insert the “s” word here) eater (as my father would
say). Someone who doesn’t do these things does not care for their pet
or the people around them. I have found that most problem dogs are the
result of either the above mentioned dim wit pet owner, which results
in in a dim witted pet, or more rarely a shallow gene pool.
It is very easy to keep a dog from being a nuisance. The means to do so
are readily available. It is just a matter of priorities and a little
character. There are many ways to contain pets and to stop nuisance
barking. We have two dogs. They do not antagonize the neighbors or the
wildlife on our property. We use an underground fence system that
confines them to an area around our home and barn, well within our
property lines. We also have a kennel area to further confine them if
needed (when workers are around the home for example). We also have
spent the time with the dogs necessary to ensure they understand that
nuisance barking is unacceptable among other things. We know when our
dogs bark they are not “crying wolf”. Years ago we had a dog with a
barking issue and an inexpensive bark collar solved the problem
quickly. We have taken these steps for the safety of our dogs, to
maintain the peace of the natural things around us and to maintain some
peace for ourselves and our neighbors – including the dim wit.

Re: How to make the equivalent of $60,000
per year without a college eduction and any student loans.
Editor's note: You can thank Democrats and RINO Republicans for
creating the welfare state to retain power and control over the people.
Do you even give a moments thought to what you are reading and posting?
A family making $60,000 per year. Pays $13034 in Soc Sec,
Medicare and Fed Income Tax. And spends $9600 a year on child
care. Since they spend that much on child care, there must be a
child care credit and a $1000 child tax credit.
The Soc Sec and Medicare are $4590. This is $60000 * 7.65%.
That leaves $8444 in federal income tax to be paid. Do you really
believe a family making gross of $60K pays $8444 in federal income
taxes, after they take a $1000 child tax credit? Hello? Are
you this out of touch?
Thumbnail of a form 1040 with $60,000 gross.
Income $60000
Stan Ded -11400
Exemptions -10950 (3 @ $3650 each)
Taxable Income = $37650.
10% tax on first $16750 = $1675 tax
15% tax on $20900 = $3135
Total Tax = $4810
Less child tax credit -1000 (1 child?)
Less child care credit -1920 ($9600 * 20%)
Tax paid = $1890.
Oh wait, I forgot about the Making Work Pay Credit. Take another
$800 off.
Federal Tax paid = $1090.
Editor's note: Wow, the IRS owes us a lot of money by that formula. We
pay more in "Federal Taxes" in a month, much less per year according to
your calculations, long before we even file our taxes. The formula you
use states "The Soc Sec and Medicare are $4590. This is $60000 *
7.65%" accounts only for Social (in)Security and does not include
Medicare or other taxes. Nice try. I'd ask you to do my taxes but I
don't want to get audited.
Dont' forget state and local taxes too. We can't forget all government
leaches sucking away the hard earned money of the workers who support
the nearly 50% of those who pay no income taxes and yet still get a
"refund" (redistribution of wealth - a socialist ideal) each year.
Of course, don't forget the Obama regime and the Democrats are likley
to let the Bush tax cuts expire. Hello tax increases across the board.
Funny how they now want to save the "tax cuts for the middle class"
when they railed for the last six years that Bush only passed "tax cuts
for the rich".
But that doesn't fit the class envy attacks by liberals on the "evil
rich" ($200,00+ per year is not "rich")
Here's an idea: cut the pay of all Congressional members and funding by
60% (after all, they are "public servants"), cut the pay of the
President and Vice-President by 50%, eliminate the US Dept. of
Education created by moon bat Pres. Carter, force a balanced budget
amendment to the Constitution, end all earmarks, stop the Fed from
printing money out of thin air, repeal Obamcare and watch the debt
disappear in less than five years.
But that would require the imperial federal government to suffer rather
than the people who pay to support the federal government - so we know
that will never happen.

another house being robbed or a car being stolen in Merriwether and the

a lot of taxes in this county and I think we deserve a lot more
coverage in police protection in return.
Editor's note: Sheriff Dobey tries to place at least one deputy in the
Merriwether area around the clock due to the high crime rate. However,
due to lack of funding from the current majority of the county council,
they are called away to respond to other calls due to lack of personnel
and available coverage. At any given time there are only three deputies
covering the 507 square miles of our county in cars that should have
been replaced two years ago. We are wasting money on wants like
recreation, the Bettis and Northside Parks, and handing out tens of
thousands of dollars to non-governmental entities year after year.

Do you now the county ordinances on dogs
barking. We have 3 dogs (2 hunting dogs and a lab). We have
had the cops called on us twice in the last month because of dogs
barking. I moved out of a neighborhood and farther out in the
country so I would not have to worry about my dogs barking and
bothering other people. I do not live in or close to the city
limits. We have lived here for two years and have never had any
complaints. We do not live in a neighborhood because of our dogs
and now the cops are coming to our house in the country. Dogs are
going to bark at animals and other people, so are we not susposed to
have dogs that bark in Edgefield County? A new man happened to
move in somewhat close and all of a sudden we are being reported to the
cops for our dogs barking. This is part of living in the
country. Maybe the person doing the complaining should move back
to the city.
Thanks
Editor's note: If anyone calls the Sheriff's Office to make a report
they are going to respond, period. There is a county nuisance ordinance
which covers noise (which would include dogs barking). The noise has to
be above a certain noise level and a specified distance. I believe it
is 200 feet, but I have not reviewed the ordinance recently to confirm
the distance. I made a call to the Sheriff's Office and they were
unsure of the distance without also reviewing the ordinance. If the
problem continues a deputy can issue a courtesy summons to the
offending party (that would be you) to appear before the Magistrate.
There is no criminal penalty (county ordinances cannot impose jail
time) and would most likely result in a fine if you are found to be in
violation.
We also live in a rural setting and are thankful that neighbors have
dogs that bark at night to deter potential thieves from stealing from
our property. Perhaps you should get to know your neighbor so they call
you, not the Sheriff's Office, if they have a problem.

Editor’s note: It is difficult to say what a judge will do in any case

Election Commission to be upheld, but that does not mean the saga is
over. Mr. Jackson could appeal that decision as well to the South
Carolina Supreme Court, and if upheld, to the US Supreme Court. I
consider the latter two to be very unlikely.
Given that belief, if Judge McMahon upholds the ruling stating Jackson
is not a viable candidate, the election could be held two weeks later,
on December 21 – just four days before Christmas.
The results would then have to be certified and a winner named. They

A Cup of Tea

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I
brought him a little cup of 'tea', which was just water.
After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy
tea, my mom came home.
My dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring
him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!'
Mom waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup

Then she said, (as only a mother would know), "'Did it ever occur

after dominating the Florida Gators in a 36-14 win, holding #22 Florida
to only one offensive touchdown in the game. The Gamecocks will play
for the SEC Title on December 4 against #2 Auburn after we complete our
remaining games against Troy and Clemson. Hopefully both games will end
in wins for the Gamecocks ending the season at 9-3.
The Gamecocks were already in a bowl game before the strong showing
against Florida, and with two more wins likely under their belt, the
BCS Bowl game offer increases with each victory. A defeat of #2 Auburn
(If they can defeat Alabama in their last game of the regular season
and remain at the number two spot) would make the Gamecocks as a very
hot commodity for Holiday Bowl Games and rankings.
It just depends on which Gamecock team takes the field each week from

Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida, or the dysfunctional one that

Two different items. If you accept the false property values then pay
your taxes without a challenge.
When you say false, are you questioning the value that the county has
for your house, or are you questioning the value of the land? Per acre,
it seems like a fair price for the amount of land that you have. With
the sq footage, the appraisal of the house seems reasonable. Which part
do you dispute?
Editor's note: 25% of all property owners had their property values set
from numbers out of thin air. The other 75% had their properties

A young woman was about to finish her
first year of college. Like so many others her age, she
considered herself to be very liberal, and among other liberal ideals,
was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government
programs, in other words redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch
conservative, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the
lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a
professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil,
selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher
taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs.
The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be
the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by
asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and
let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was
taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which
left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew.
She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many
college friends because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, How is your friend Audrey doing?
She replied, Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy
classes, she never studies and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is
so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always
invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up
for classes because she's too hung over.
Her wise father asked his daughter, Why don't you go to the Dean's
office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your
friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA
and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired
back, That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I've worked
really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot
of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her
degree. She played while I worked my tail off!
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, Welcome to the
conservative side of the fence.
If anyone has a better explanation of the difference between
conservative and liberal or progressive or neocon I'm all ears.

government making decisions this way. Say no to police cars
needing to be replaced helping those who keep us safe. Say yes to

reserves defined as funds set aside for emergencies. I hope those
"wants" not needs organizations will remember how it was this council's

when you are up in arms because the county will not have the funds to

the people of America get for this trip? He spent our money,
right? He claimed he was getting jobs for Americans but that was

for a lot of folks. Saving that much money might have enabled them to
even cut taxes on small business owners and create jobs for Americans
in America. I know this is a simple way of looking at things but
sometimes common sense is lost in this administration. As far as I see

Editor's post: Well here’s a fine example of how well
our county is being run by our upstanding County Administrator Alton
Brown. Two county credit cards used to provide for the housing of a
sequestered jury, SLED agents, and a Court Bailiff - as well as meals -
in a death penalty trial were rejected when the jurors were sent to
Bobby’s Bar-B-Que in Trenton for a meal.
The explanation is that because one of the cards was used to pay for
the hotel rooms the county needed an additional credit limit on the
cards because of a "hold" placed on the county limit.
With the trial expected to cost the county over $150,000 - and has been
planned for over a year - what the heck has Alton Brown been doing to
prepare for the trial? Good grief, it’s not like Clerk of Court
Shirley Newby hasn’t made the cost to the county available to Brown
from the first day he was on the job.
Did he set up a special account to handle the hotel payments for the
jurors and SLED agents? Obviously not.
Did he make sure that the credit line of the county was extended to
provide so that the county credit cards remained open to cover
expenses? Evidently not.
What has County Administrator Brown been spending his time on?
We know for a fact he has been spending a large amount of time reading,
copying, and responding to comments in the Wandering Minds section of
Edgefield Daily and forcing his comments into the minutes of county
council meetings along with the copyrighted material which was never
discussed in any public meeting.
He can make sure the county spends
$163,000 on unnecessary networking equipment and unwanted computers
without a bid, fight against a similar purchase to replace outdated
and over mileage Sheriff Patrol vehicles to protect our citizens by
requiring three bids, and expressing his vindictiveness towards
Edgefield Daily relentlessly.

About the computer purchase - you don't have to bid "if it is a sole

can be held. Willaim Herrin and Roman Whitfield are already seeking
support for the run-off in the belief Jackson will be kicked off the

have two comments. With all of
this attention being placed on Nathaniel Jackson, who's watching the
others. I mean, should Mr. Bibbs be investigated for
collusion. After all he drove Nathaniel Jackson around just days
prior to the election to help him politic in the community.
Doesn't Mr. Bibbs work for the State, and if so, did he take vacation
time to drive Nathaniel around, or was he doing it on the taxpayer
dime? That Mr. Bibbs, he puts on a good front, but it seems he is
always doing something on the sly. First he sneaks a
re-districting map to Clyburn, and now he sneaks Nathaniel Jackson
around just prior to the election. You know Mr. Bibbs knew
Nathaniel did not live in Johnston. Someone should be watching
Mr. Bibbs.
Second. I constantly hear people complaining about our corrupt
politicians and how we are funding, through taxation, such wasteful
programs and projects. We constantly hear why certain people should not
be holding office. Yet no one in any type of position of
authority has the brass to stand up and uphold the rule of law.
Why does it always take the efforts of a few concerned citizens to get
things done? Why are we paying police, mayors, judges, election
commissions, county council members to do their %$#@ job, when at every
turn, it appears they give the bad a pass, and make the law abiding
citizen take matters into their own hands. Hey, if we want to
reduce our debt, lower our taxes, let's just cut the employment roles
of every agency or govt body by 50%.
They're not doing there job anyway. If they were, we wouldn't be
dealing with the Nathaniel Jacksons of the world. Simply put-if
the elections commission was doing their job-they would have stuck to
their guns and not allowed an appeal to be filed because he failed to
abide by the legal process. If the Johnston Chief of Police had a
pair, he would have stood up and provided an affadavit attesting to the
fact he too knows Nathaiel Jackson is not a resident of Johnston.
If Medlock was doing his job, he would have filed charges against
Nathaniel Jackson for perjury and false swearing under oath. If
the elections commission was doing their job Nathaniel Jackson would
not even be an issue. He should be permanently barred from voting
and running for any office since he illegally voted in 2006, therefore
engaged in elections fraud.
If the school board was doing their job, they would have told Nathaniel
not to run-he was not a qualified elector or candidate. If the
school district's attorney was doing his job, he would have informed
the school board and the district that Nathaniel Jackson was not
legally qualified. So many people, collecting so much money from the
public trough, yet doing so little. Meanwhile, us taxpayers may
get stuck with a big bill for this Nathaniel Jackson fiasco, and all
those mentioned just sit on their hands. After all, whether they
do their jobs or not, they still get their check. White collar
welfare. Seems we get more bang for our buck if we have more
patriots and fewer govt leaches.
Editor's note: At this time Mr. Jackson has never been convicted of
voter fraud or purjury and therefore is not guilty of the stated
infractions that would deny his voting rights. If Mr. Jackson had been
denied an appeal he would have a right to appeal that decision and
that, in my opinion, would have opened the door to an appeal of the
original ruling. The Edgefield County Election Commission probably did
"punt" the ball to the courts, and I do not blame them. Let a judge
handle this mess once and for all.
Johnston Police Chief Chris Aston was never called as a witness and has
no bearing on the matter.

of speed, I called the phone number on the back of the bus and
was told, they had no idea who was driving,or what bus or driver was in
the Columbia area that day. Could I get a tag number so they could look
it up? I sped up to 75 to get a bus number and could not catch the bus.
he had to be driving over 80 MPH on I-20 at this point. The lady I
spoke with stated the supervisor was out for the day and she had no way
of knowing which bus or driver was involved without the tag number.
Really? This not the first time I have had an encounter with this
agency and their vehicles, I was literally run off of Hwy 23 in
Monetta by a bus from the same center. When I called, I was
told the supervisor was out and they had no way of knowing the driver
without the tag number.
They need to take these complaints seriously and slow down the drivers.
In this time of high unemployment I bet they could find a more
responsible person to do the job since it isn't important to some
drivers. It needs to be taken seriously and not brushed aside with a
flimsy excuse a first year law student could debunk. Our senior
citizens deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, not thrown and
tossed around on a bus traveling at over 80 mph. their safety should be
the supervisor's number one concern, not protecting his drivers
job. I hope someone will take this seriously and look into this
dangerous situation, before a citizen is seriously injured by their
actions or lack of action.
No, I did not contact my council person. I thought this would reach

The Saga of Cocaine Jackson is one that a
legitimate national News organization (there are none) would be happy
to follow and find out "Why is everyone so afraid of Mr. Jackson?" Good
question, but the answer is...Cocaine Jackson, who is not a legal
resident of this county, who has committed voter fraud, owes thousands
of dollars to IRS, and is a general dirt-bag....should be afraid of
some of the "unique" Edgefield county people who resent his actions and
for trying to muscle/thug into our school system. This is a clown who
has found favor with other dirt bags (429 Johnston voters) who are of
like mind and social situation...people you would not let into your
house much less your barn. Cocaine Jackson thinks this is some con-game
he and his NAACP freaks can manipulate and win by intimidation. This is
a game involving a garden variety thug who has challenged the integrity
of Edgefield county and thinks he can get away with another scheme and
is backed by the Communist NAACP supported by Professor Bibbs, Sister
Sallie, and others who could care less about our children and more
about what they can get out of the system and how to screw "The Man".
The line is drawn in the sand....who do you support? This is a time for
the Johnston Black community to redeem themselves (from their
overwhelming support for a former drug dealer) and show how they care
about who supports their children's education. Maybe the black
community is sending us "dumbasses" a message which states they don't

Liberalism is supported by two diverse
groups. The self-proclaimed intellectuals (although self-praise
is no praise) and the indolent, unproductive bottom of
society. The intellectuals' delusion is that they know best
how to run the lives of the populous but do not have the power to win
elections based
on their flawed premise and diminutive presence. They rely on a
huge number of mindless plantation folk (no racial distinction applies
to this group) to provide the vote in exchange of piddly handouts
(erroneously called entitlements) through social programs that placate
the unproductive class.
Funding is purloined through unfair taxation of the productive and
enterprising elements of society. Class warfare is effective
because the plantation folks are led to believe that they are deserving
of substance without any production or effort, except to drag
themselves down to the polls. Slogans such as “tax breaks for the
rich” stir up hatred against the producers and, in the minds of the
plantation folk, and justifies their right to what they have not worked
for. The Liberals implanted visions of an Obama producing a
rainbow of financial blessings flowing into the hands of each
plantation captive. Such promises have mislead and disappointed
those folks for decades but they probably still will not get it,
Like the sap that goes weekly to buy lottery tickets, they will piddle
their future away. In their disappointment, they turn to
thievery, drugs dealing and gangs as a substitute for work, ignoring
the certain punishment that awaits them. The Liberal's power is
not in the arena of sound ideas but in
their voter gangs who, thoughtlessly, do their bidding, The folk
will never prosper because of the trance induced by their Liberal
masters. The Liberal masters skillfully divert the captive's
attention to the rich to shroud their own evil motives.
Liberalism is truly a mental illness consisting of delusional
megalomania at the top and obsessive, covetousness at the bottom.
The producers get it! They are responsible for themselves.
If one of the plantation folk found themselves on a deserted island he
would die on the beach waiting for someone to come and help them.
A producer in the same situation would be thrilled at the opportunity
to turn it into a tropical paradise.

Yes, the school board position is a paid position. They get a
monthly stipend of $300, or whatever their position pays, e.g., Sallie
gets more because she's chair. They also get an additional
stipend if they call meetings, and boy they sure try to call as many as
they can over the most stupid crap! Chris Hoffman was chastised
for not accepting his-he really did believe in being a public
servant-and you should have seen the dirty look he got from Viola
Jackson when he announced his intention. Plus, they had to vote
to allow him to reject his pay.
But, to answer your question about why Nate is fighting so hard-follow
the money. The dirty little secret is that grant writing
companies are set up, ahemmmm, Crenshaw, and they funnel money through
the grant companies, and it is known in Columbia that the grant writing
companies use the churches to funnel money through. The grant
writing companies "help" the churches write grants, and when they
receive the grant, who would dare question to see where and how that
money is being spent. Bet if you looked hard enough, you'd see,
and you'd see that all parties involved are getting something back some
way.
And why would the NAACP support Nate-cause it is another dirty little
secret they want to ensure control of the school systems, for the above
mentioned reasons. Nate could possibly steer contracts to his
brother's HVAC business, and receive a backdoor palm greasing.
It's like the terrorists-they set up mosques, funnel money through
them, and use them to radicalize their brethren.
And ole Nate, he be needin a whole lot of money to pay off his fine of
$2000 to the State of SC Elections Commission; to pay off his
fine of $10,000 for his cocaine trafficking sentence; and the $76,000+
to pay off his Federal IRS Tax Lien.
And its not solely Nate wanting the position-its Brother Bibbs, Sister
Sallie, Crenshaw and Clinkscales. Without a majority, they in a
whole heap of trouble and now Crenshaw's contract won't have the rubber
stamp it had when Bibbs, Cooks, Viola Jackson, and Mary Alice Jackson
were there.

It appears the Edgefield Election

story, Jackson never submitted a written appeal. Therefore, he missed
the window of appeal time limits. Is Edgefield county afraid of the
NAACP. I am sure the cast of characters who comprise the local NAACP
are about as humorous as Professor Bibbs, Sister Sallie and the now
defunct Jackass sisters. It appears that Edgefield County has no
backbone and is letting Cocaine man, who is not a resident of this
county, get due justice for a non-existent injustice. And if Trish
Butler says he never filed an appeal according to election rules, that
should end the matter. She is an honorable person and accepting Cocaine
Jackson's lying garbage mouth is an insult to her. Get with the law

HALLELUJAH!!!!! We may be making in roads. Finally, someone
from the black community has the moxie to stand up and be heard.
This is not about race, at least on this side. However, it sure
is about race on the side of the school board and school
district. And its criminal. They use the children to
advance their own personal agendas, and even more shamefully, they use
their own race to do so as well. Thank you for your
courage. I am certain if they were able to find out who you are
they would come down on you. You see whats going on and they wont
like that. Race baiting is a lucrative business, and if members
of your race wake up and see they have been used to enrich others while
still struggling, the race baiters will not be happy. Look at
Obama, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farakhan, Jim Clyburn, Sheila
Jackson Lee, Jefferson of Louisiana, Marion Barry of D.C., Dorn, Bibbs,
Cooks, Bright, the Jacksons, Crenshaw, Clinkscales-all have used the
race card to promote and elevate themselves, while your children are
still denied a good education, and hence a good livelihood. Sure
you get govt assistance in the way of welfare, food stamps, govt
housing, school breakfast/lunch programs, after school programs which
are essentially day care programs. You get all of that, but look
at what you are really getting-drug infested neighbor hoods/housing
projects, increasing crime rates, increasing drop-out rates, increasing
unemployment rates, dead children, abused children, addicted children,
gang violence, a constant everyday struggle to survive.
Meanwhile, Obama and Michelle eat $100/lb steak and gallivant around
the world; Jesse, Al, and Farakhan wear the finest clothes and eat in
the finest restaurants; Bibbs and Cooks got themselves a Mercedes after
they were elected to the school board, Bibbs even got his wife a job in
the district; Crensahw has a nice pad in Pine Ridge, and
Clinkscales-she's making 3 times what any normal person in her position
would be makng.
Interesting-I've been to govt housing areas in Clinton, SC, Ridgeland
SC, Columbia, SC, St Stephens, SC, York SC, Aiken, SC, Denmark, SC,
Atlanta, GA - and the biggest complaint is the young, uneducated, drug
infested, gang related punks coming in and ruining it for the people
that really do need assistance-and the complaints are by the
maintenance, managers, and elderly tenants.
They sure have helped you haven't they? They've helped keep you
down. It really is despicable, and if you look at
it-traitorous! They have betrayed there own people for their own
gain. Thank you for seeing the light. If we unite against
this bunch, we can make a difference, a difference for everybody.
Voting against Nathaniel Jackson is a great start. Thank you.

Let me begin by saying: I am not a
racist, I do not condone racism, and I have no political
preference. That being said, I find it shameful that anyone
(black, white, green, purple) would willingly vote for a candidate as
sneaky and deceptive as Mr. Jackson. It is frightening to believe that
our black (and white) voters would put into office a man who cannot
even abide by the laws set forth by our government. . . a man who
continues to fight for a seat that he legally has no right to
hold. And now the NAACP is backing him, which proves the point I
have argued for quite some time. . . the only issue they are concerned
about is color. They have no interest, whatsoever, in what is in
the BEST interest of our country. The NAACP has the power to
truly bring people together, and attempt to heal the wounds of the
past; instead, they continuously pour salt on those wounds, and cause
division. If I had felt for one second that Mr. Jackson was the
most qualified candidate to make decisions which directly effect the
future of my children, I would have cast my vote for him without
hesitation. Please, please, please stop voting for people just
because they are black, unless they are truly qualified. I admit,
I voted for President Obama. . . a decision I have since come to
regret. Not because he is black, but because I believe he is
making poor decisions, and taking our Nation in a very dismal
direction. He will not get my vote again. Nathaniel Jackson

Interesting how you state you didn't know Mary Alice Jackson wasn't
running, but you knew ole Nate was. If recalled correctly, it was
printed as a story when Mary Alice withdrew, and Nathaniel Jackson,
shortly thereafter, and I mean minutes thereafter, Nathaniel Jackson
filed his application. Moreover, Bibbs Mary Alice, Crenshaw,
Bright and Dorn all knew-they held the secret meeting with Nate.
Also very interesting is how the black community is so well versed in
how to vote for a school board member. Most people, black or
white don't know.
But let's just ask the very logical question-What would voting for
Nathaniel Jackson, a felon, cocaine trafficker, tax evader, perjurer,
cheat, what could he possibly do to enhance your life? What could
you possibly have to gain with Nathaniel Jackson sitting on the school
board? How could his being seated at the board benefit you?
Oh, I see. Entertainment. That's right. It's already
folly to watch that bumbling idiot Sallie run a board meeting.
It's already folly to see Bibbs pimp in off the street in his suit and
tie and his bluetoof in his ear, and read from the agenda as if he
knows what's going on. It's already folly to see Mary Alice
Jackson immediately second every motion made by Bibbs or Viola, and
then doze back off. And it's even more folly to watch Viola
skewer public dissent with her hateful glares and racist
comments. And to add to that sideshow you have the freak show to
the right with the master ring leader Crenshaw being driven by the
racist Clinkscales and pulling on the nose ring of that idiot Kearns
who has not a clue, but is real important because she sits at the
table. And then you have that sly fox Courtney getting all he can
get while smiling and glad handing everyone he comes in contact with.
Viola. GONE! Mary Alice. GONE! Nathaniel Jackson.
GONE! There's more trash to be taken out.

The day after mid-term elections brings a
wealth of economic news to bear on the market. The U.S. Fed is
working to kill the dollar. Australia, India and China are
working to strengthen the value of their currencies.
President? Obama is going to Asia for the G-20 meeting and Asia Pacific
Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit later this week. His stated
purpose is to increase trade. The U.S. wants other countries to
increase demand in their economies for our exports.
It appears the president? will get part of what he wants. If the
dollar gets cheaper, and other countries bump the value of their
currencies, U.S. exports will benefit from currency valuations.
The danger is the U.S. will not export the inflation we are creating
with devaluing the dollar. Other countries strengthening their
currencies are putting up a firewall. Australia's natural
resources will get more expensive in the U.S. and China (as long as
China ties the Yuan to the dollar). China's do-dads will get more
expensive at Walmart and Target. India's tech products and
services will become more expensive in the U.S.
It seems part of the world is calling the Fed's bluff. Treasury
Sec. Turbo Tim Geithner worked to ward off a currency war two weeks ago
at the meeting of G-20 Finance Ministers.
At least three countries have demonstrated they are not going to enter
a currency war with the U.S. They are going the other direction
with conviction. Their currencies will increase in value and
isolate their economies and citizens from inflation.
The Australian dollar reached its all time high against the U.S. dollar
yesterday. India's stock market sold off after their central bank
raised interest rates 0.25%. Britain reports construction
activity is slowing in the country. South Korea's foreign
currency reserves hit a third record high in the last four months.
The Fed has announced their new efforts to pump money into the economy
by forcing interest rates lower on fixed term investments.
Geithner and Bernanke get it wrong every time.

The ignorance of some people never ceases
to amaze me. What kind of morons place enough votes to get
Nathaniel Jackson more votes than his two opponents? It's good
that he's been ruled ineligible, but it's like some idiots voted for
just to show their ignorance. He would been such a great addition
to the old board. At least a small part of the board is being

It is truly an embarrassment to live in
Johnston right now after seeing how many votes were cast for Nathaniel
Jackson. The man does not even live in Edgefield County and has
no right to run, and people vote for him anyway. Not only that,
he has been in jail before and may go back soon. And this is who
they voted for???? I always knew there was some ignorance in this
town, but the display of it that has occurred in this election is
reprehensible. I'm not sure there is any help for that kind of
stupidity.

Congrats to the people of School Districts
who elected Clark and Wates. Maybe we can move our
children's education forward. To the 429 people who voted for
Jackson in School District 1, what were you thinking? Write in
votes for Talbert and Robinson are impressive. Having that many
people actually care about their representatives tells us hope
remains. It is so much easier to just push a button without
thinking or caring what kind of representative you voted for. So
now you are stuck with Bright and Dorn for two more years.
To those who have been voted into office, serve with pride and make
sure you are voting for the will and in the best interest of the people

after finding that he drives illegally, and after finding that he is a

world were ya'll thinking by giving him that number of votes?!? It
should be the person that is most qualified to make decisions for our

meaningful words to describe the voters who voted for Cocaine Jackson.
You message is loud and clear. You have stereotyped yourself as the
typical entitlement voter who could care less about your community when
it comes to ethics and morality in choosing a quality school board
candidate or any candidate for that matter. Why don't you 106 sorry
entitlement voters leave your section 8 housing and our county so you
can move to where Cocaine Jackson lives (he certainly doesn't live in
Edgefield County). Our county and country will be better off without
you.

RE: "First of all I want to say that not

True. Very true. However, the black community could have
done a lot better in electing a better representative of their race
than that jackass in the white house now. Condi, Steele, Keys,
West, and even Powell would have been far better. And then you
have that mess the black community keeps putting on the county council,
Dorn and Bright. Again, there are a lot better people, smarter,
of course that's not saying too much to be smarter than Dorn, to
represent the black community, but you choose those to represent your
race, time and time again. And look at the school board, Bibbs,
the Jacksons, and Sister Sallie. An utter disgrace-yet you
re-elect them time and time again. Why? Don't know.
But it appears its because its an opportunity to stick it to the white
man again, regardless of how dumb or corrupt the black community
candidates are. That's racist and not intelligent thought.
All blacks aren't labeled as you have stated. The intelligent
ones do know they are not the ones being referred to and don't pay any
attention. However, it's just like the Muslim community.
Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.
And what has the Muslim community done, sat on their hands and not held
the few radical elements accountable. Same as the black community
has done. Seems you'd get tired of it and start policing your
own, but you don't. It doesn't take much for you to speak out
against whitey, so why don't you speak out against the corrupt,
ignorant blacks?

black people vote for black people or Democrats only. There are many
intelligent black people who listen and research the candidates to
determine the best qualified person for the elected office. Believe it
or not, there are black voters who do care whether or not a person is a
convicted felon or whether or not a person can obtain her teacher's
certification. Who gives these writers the authority to say that black
people will only vote for other black people whether or not they are
qualified for the position? Does he or she have some insider info or go
around peeping over black voters shoulders to see who they are voting
for? Please refrain from putting all black people into one category.
There are many black people who do not support the antics of the

Dear wandering minds, my family and I
always go all out for halloween every year but this year is a little
different. Since edgefield county decided to change the date of
halloween for trick or treaters to go door to door from sunday to
saturday we are not participating. We heard this on the news channel
the other night and couldnt believe it! We dont see you change the date
for christmas and new years or any other holiday because you dont like
the date it falls on. Plus in the past they havent changed the date for
halloween when its been on a tuesday so why sunday? Well we think its
wrong. What is that teaching kids today? That if it dont fit this
area's liking, which has been going on for years all over the world
that a community can change it? If christmas falls on a sunday are you
going to change that for your likings also? The news channel said the
reason they changed the date was for the safety of the children, but in
reality there are more drunk drivers out on saturday night then sunday
night. So you tell me which is safer. I understand that children have
school monday but thats why you start trick or treating early and end
early instead of having it a whole day early. This date has been set
for I dont know how many years of celebrating halloween and you want to
change it now? My opinion is edgefield county needs to get up with the
times and quit living in their own little world, and go along with the
rest of the world.
Editor's note: To my knowledge, the Edgefield County Council never
voted to change the date of Halloween and area tv news reports took the
statement by the Town of Edgefield as the date set by the county.

A mule is stubborn. So in order to
get its attention, you take a 2x4 to its head. A couple good
whacks and finally the dumb ass listens. So, one should ask, "How
many more times should the black community be hit with a 2x4 before
they will listen?" The Democrat Party has used them for years,
pitting them against that nasty whitey Republican race, securing their
vote. Yet, it was the Republican party that actually achieved the
most for civil rights. Oh, but the Democrat Party got them
welfare benefits, public housing, food stamps, free schooling, and
program after program, yet the masses really haven't moved
upward. Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Louis Farakhan,
Sheila Jackson Lee, Bill Clyburn, Bright, Dorn, Cooks, Bibbs, Jacksons,
Crenshaw, etc., have all used the divisive race card to perpetuate
their grip on their voting block, only to give the voting block a hand
out instead of a hand up, while they enriched themselves.
2x4 after 2x4, and yet the black community still votes Democrat.
And the latest, ahhhh let's see-they pilloried Condolizza Rice
and called her a slave to the master; they tried to destroy Michael
Steele; they told Patterson, Governor-not to run; and now, the first
African American President, Bill Clinton, tries to strong arm Meeks, in
Florida, into dropping out of the race and let that rich white guy,
Crist, run as a turn coat Republican turned Independent.
Do you feel used black community? At every opportunity, the
Democrats have shown they want you because of your "block" vote, but at
the first opportunity to save the party, they throw the black candidate
under the bus. Great! What a way to live a life of being
independent minded, or so you think. Black community- WAKE UP!
You've been corralled far too long by a Party that says they have your
best interest at heart. Look at it with an objective eye - have
they really helped you? They sure have. They have helped
you stay where you're at, while they get all they can get. With friends
like that, I surely would not want any enemies. Okay Black Community,
if you want more of the same, welfare checks, food stamps, govt
housing, free schooling, drug infested housing projects, crime, the
violence and killing of your children by drug dealers, the wonderful
music, and on and on and on, go ahead, continue to vote Democrat.
If you want to get ahead, vote for whoever empowers you as a citizen.
Man Up!

They did. You missed it. Our people were highlighted
throughout the rescue mission. Even NASA was saluted for sending
people to the site to help the miners deal with month of isolation
along with other donations. I am sure that most people around the
world realize the role Americans played in the rescue except those
people in America who minds are being warp by negative feelings.
Even when we do well the negative members of this society brains miss
the good we are doing. A perfect example of this is the poster
who made the following comments: “November 2, 2010 is your last
chance to do something to change the direction in which Our Country is
going. Which is down the tubes.” No, most countries believe we
are finally trying to do something about healthcare and the Wall
Street. Most countries couldn’t believe we let Wall Street take
over our country without a shot being fired. And now they are
using this election to buy back their control over our country.
Most countries are tired of our people using their resources and
medical personnel for their illnesses and cosmetic surgeries.
Many rich Americans travel to Cuba for medical reasons. That’s
one reason Castro and the people in Cuba were happy that we were
finally trying to do something about healthcare. Please believe
me when I say, most people with money get their serious/expensive
medical care away from America. My father is over 90 years old
and I can truly say that everything has not been put in place so far,
but the changes that have taken place have been good. One of the
best is accountability for charges on his bill. He pays less now
and you can get feedback. I don’t believe in $5000.00 shots but
at least I can believe that if they are given it is because they are
needed. I know that the government allows way more than what is
charge by the doctors. I also know that allowable amount from the
government is what is asked for by the medical community along with
making the patient pay the deductible. I promise you, the shape
we are in did not happen when elected President Obama. The
problems we are facing started a decade (10 years) ago.
Two postscripts:
1. Those miners will not receive a
paycheck for the time they were trapped nor will they receive severance
pay because the owners of the mine said they do not have the
funds. They will not receive anything from the government because
the country’s labor laws will not permit it. They are hoping to
make enough money from the media because their families have to have
the basic necessity of life (food, clothing and shelter).
2. When you look at the money being paid
in this election, one have to wonder why we are not using this money to
pay down the DEFICIT. Is our country really for sale? Do we
equate money with sanity? Nothing is sacred in America
anymore. We will sell anything to the highest bidder.
Editor's note: The Democrats have outspent Republicans in this
election. I guess we know who thinks the "elections are for sell".
