Editor's note: I have received similar emails and calls. To my
knowledge, no arrests have been made or charges filed in the accidental
death
of Lewis McKinney.
Until then, I would chalk this up to rumor. However, officials are not
sure why he was laying in the roadway when he was struck by a passing
motorist. Results from toxicology reports are still pending.

As a
Christian who is not from SC and only recently arrived here (one of
those dreaded Yankees), I found the Bible
belt survey results a little amusing. Maybe I have missed
something, but I always thought actions spoke louder than words. The
actions and goings on in Edgefield (now and historically) are
either independent of the rest of SC, or this survey only shows the
words of the people in SC and not their actions. I see a
lot of contradictions in the lives of "Christians" here. I am not
trying to be anyone's judge, but again, actions and
behaviors speak a whole lot louder than words. It makes one wonder if
the Bible belt thing is more of a culture thing and not a true faith
thing. Just an observation by an outsider.

How
Obama can stand in front of the people of this country and say that
there was an intelligence lapse that allowed this terrorist on board an
aircraft is the height of hypocrisy. He declared that there
is no war on terror, then decided to prosecute the very people that are
trying to keep us safe, the CIA. By sheer luck, we are not burying a
plane load of people. This two-faced liar of a "President" will
surely use this "crisis" to grab more power and expand the Federal
government. While George Bush was lacking in many areas, the world and
the terrorists knew that we would not stand by slack-jawed and allow
attacks on our citizens. Obama with his Muslim sympathies refuses to
call Islamic extremists terrorists. This tie-less, unpresidential
looking scoundrel has weakened our defenses, shown sympathy to the very
people who would destroy us and opened the door for new attacks
on our country. This is the change we should have counted on.

for consideration
http://www.edgefielddaily.com/council122309.html....
this is a wonderful ordinance... especially the section to give law
enforcement, acting in the capacity of animal control, to immediately
enter upon
property and seize an animal with or without owner’s consent or
presence if the animal falls under the protections of the ill
treatments as defined in state law and those of the proposed ordinance.
In my opinion, animal abusers are the lowest of the low, right in there
with those who abuse children and the elderly. If DSS can remove the
children and elderly from harms way while the investigation is ongoing,
i see NO reason why animal control should not have similar powers. I
will await with interest the outcome of this ordinance.

Editor's note: The bigger problem is the Obama Administration is
treating this as a criminal act, not an act of war by the enemy we are

not something that provides either terrorist (Christmas bomber or

For
those who don't know about history; here is a condensed version:
Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic
hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the
summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the
winter.
The two most important events in all of history were the invention of
beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man
to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and
together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two
distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals and
2. Conservatives.
Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning
of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can was invented
yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to
be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages
were formed.
Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at
night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is
known as the Conservative movement.
Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live
off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing
the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the
Liberal movement.
Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest
became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements
include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy,
group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to
divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.
Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most
powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by
the jackass.
Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer
white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their
beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food is standard liberal fare.
Another interesting evolutionary side note: most liberal women have
higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers,
personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group
therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule
because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.
Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud. They eat red meat and
still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters,
rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical
doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, members of
the military, airline pilots and generally anyone who works
productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives
who want to work for a living.
Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers
and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans
are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals
remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They
crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying
to get more for nothing.
Here ends today's lesson in world history.

100%
of recent air terror attempt have been by muslims. Yet, we're so
politically correct we are afraid to upset our dear muslim friends by
adding a layer of security at airports by screening muslims
traveling to the US. The Christmas wannabe bomber's daddy even
warned US officials that his lad was in league with al qaida, but that
was ignored as a result of Obama's outreach program to peaceful
muslims like himself.
I'm sick of it. We need to profile them severely. We need
dogs to surround them when they enter our airports - trained pigs would
be even better. Squads of undercover Jewish agents should
accompany
them wherever they go- even to the bathroom.
We interred the entire Japanese population in World War II without a
whisper of protest. Zero acts of sabotage was the result.
It's time to take our country back from the snivelling cowards that bow
down to despots and terrorists. We're at war with radical
muslims. Let's start acting like we want to win. They want
to kill us all so let's make it as unpleasant as possible for them to
try by making their
travel attempts a gauntlet.

Since
Christmas is over and now the joyous season of Kwanzaa is
beginning....perhaps one should reflect upon what a joke this event is
(I won't even call it a holiday) ....and to many a person's
surprise....who the founder was. Recently, I asked my kids if
they knew about Kwanzaa (they did), but then I asked them if they knew
who founded it...and they replied, "some black college
professor." I told them, "No, it was a convicted felon [though he
did some college teaching]"
The following is what has been reported on Ron Karenga, a convicted
felon, black panther, misogynist, and sick SOB who tortured and beat
women....
"In 1971, Karenga, Louis Smith, and Luz Maria Tamayo were convicted of
felony assault and false imprisonment for assaulting and torturing over
a two day period two women from the US Organization, Deborah Jones and
Gail Davis.[7] An article in the Los Angeles Times described the
testimony of one of the women: "Deborah Jones, who once was given the
title of an African queen, said she and Gail Davis were whipped with an
electrical cord and beaten with a karate baton after being ordered to
remove their clothes. She testified that a hot soldering iron was
placed in Miss Davis' mouth and placed against Miss Davis' face and
that one of her own big toes was tightened in a vise. Karenga, head of
US, also put detergent and running hoses in their mouths, she said."

Another idyllic example of "Black Kulture"..........perhaps some should
think of who they hold up as example and role models for their
culture. Clearly Christ is the better way to go.

RE:

that way again.
Yeah one can equate the Edgefield Advertiser with those rags like the
New York Times, the Boston Globe, the Chicago Tribune, etc. They
don't report substance, just their agenda. And they all have
someone behind the scenes that uses them as a propaganda machine-and we
all know who in Edgefield pulls the strings of the Advertiser-wink,
wink.
However, if you look past the typical garbage, you can always find some
use for such a dismal product. The use for the Edgefield
Advertiser is watch who's in that paper, what stories are in that
paper, and you'll find their true political leaning. Take for
instance Andy Livingston-splashed on the front page with a big photo
and ebbyting for his mayoral candidacy. Yeah, he was also
featured in the Edgefield Daily, but I'll bet that was not his first
choice. Liberal rags favor liberals. Not only do we need to
change the political composite of our country by getting these liberals
out of office-we also need to shut down their liberal propaganda
machines. So, next time you vote-vote to oust a Democrat
(Liberal), and do one better-don't buy the Edgefield Advertiser.
This country needs a liberal cleansing.

I
just read the article
concerning animal
protection being brought before the council and it is not a bad
idea really. I just wish property owners had more protection from
others domestic animals. We were highly disturbed last night to hear
dogs running game and shots fired on our well posted property and not
far from our home. Coon hunters and their dogs? Maybe. I hope they
discontinue their trespassing and game running immediately, avoid the
loss of their animals and avoid what could be potentially nasty
conflicts with concerned and irate property owners.
People like these on our property last night (trespassers, illegal
hunting, etc…) are the primary cause of the negative views of hunters
and hunting today, even among those like myself that occasionally hunt.
They are also helping the cause of those wanting to limit gun ownership
in this country. If that is the objective of these jerks it is working.
If you know these idiots please get the word to them. Maybe read them
this post. They obviously cannot read or they would have seen the
Property Watch signs everywhere. Then again shouldn’t they have known
that they were not hunting on their property!?

Oh yeah, this is good. Good thing Andy isn't running for Mayor of
Edgefield. I was torn as to whether or not to comment because we
actually need to get the deadwood out of Edgefield politics, to include
those on the school board. Andy has sat in that seat for 17
years, and what can he show us he has done? Andy's been a member
of the development group for Johnston since 1982-and look at Johnston
today-a vast metropolis teeming with prosperity, jobs, and
progress. Yeah you can have Andy all right. We'll gladly
let him go from the school district after 17 years of
nothingness. We'll be glad to throw him on the ash heap of
political hacks that has his hand out. You see, ole Andy doesn't
like his minority status on the Board now, so now he wants out.
Allegedly he always did it for the children, for the community-but now
he won't even stand up and fight for what is right, he just casts his
vote and watches the school district fall prey to a systematic
installment of failure. Yeah, Andy has served us well. Now
he wants to turn tail and run. But did you notice one thing-he
still runs to the government feeding trough. If he won't stand up
for what is right on the school board, what makes you think he'll stand
up for the citizens of Johnston as Mayor? You talk about a yes
man-Johnston will get one in Andy-and whoever is running Johnston
behind the scenes like Edgefield-they'll have the perfect puppet.

presidents in history combined and increased the deficit spending to a
level even the world states can't be maintained. And that does not
include the cost of his socialized health care plan.
Change you can believe in... absolutely. Obama and the Democrats seem
dead set on bankrupting the United States in an concerted effort to
create a socialist government by proxy. I guess this information is one
more reason the Edgefield County School District is blocking the
Wandering Minds. We can't have school children exposed to reality and
truth about a Marxist president who is killing our country because it
does not fit the political mold they wish to present to students or
citizens (who should not voice their opinions). Such information is not
"educational" in their view. Control is all they care about, just as
the Democrat leaders they fawn over.

to run healthcare is also the one that distributes EBT funds aka food

store and one EBT recipient buys all their groceries on the card and
then gets into a brand new pick up truck that's fancier than
mine! Another recipient buys their groceries with the card and
then purchases $12 of menthol cigarettes with money out of their
pocket. Problem is, most, if not all, liberals think this is OK
and that the "underpriveleged" person deserves everything they can
get. Why do we keep voting the same folks into office?
Please, folks...let's get the lawyers and career politicians out of our

They put together a development board that is not funded and all they

Editor's note: According to countless reports, she was 17 when she
delivered (too young to convey citizenship by law). Which meant she was
16 at conception by a Kenyan citizen (therefore a citizen of Britain at
the time). Obama has claimed to have been born in two different
hospitals in Hawaii, and the address printed in the local papers at the
time were occupied by someone other than his mother or father. There is
also no official record of a wedding.
Is Obama a citizen? I have no idea. He refuses to release any and all

See the PC Police had taken Christmas away.
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing
about Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say,
December 25th is just a 'Holiday'.
The shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
pushing folks to the floor just to get at it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod.
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
in hopes of selling books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down,
at Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears,
you won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Pelosi, Now Reid, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Schumer, on Kerry, on Clinton!
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
to eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith,
forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded,
the reason for the season, stopped before it started.
As you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree',
sipping your Starbucks, please listen to me.
Choose your words carefully,
choose what you say.

What
kind of fools have the American’s who support Obama become? What kind
of cowards are reporting the news these days? Latest point in fact is
the situation with Guantanamo and the alleged terrorists held there.
Obama supporters, the Democrats and apparently the press as well want
to pat Obama on the back for moving towards shutting down the
Guantanamo detention facility. Really what difference does it make if
it is shut down? The same alleged terrorists will be held in another
detention facility somewhere else. The circus surrounding these
detainees has not been resolved by moving them. Why doesn’t the press
call Obama and his supporters out on this. These individuals should be
tried (yesterday) and punished if guilty, otherwise put them back out
where they came from.
The Nobel Peace Prize? From this point on in history it is joke.
Obama also campaigned on ending our overseas conflicts. What has
happened? He is sending more troops! It is an outrage that more young
men and women will die as a result of the Iraq and Afghanistan
conflicts. We never should have went to Iraq and we could have punished
the Taliban for 9/11 without putting a single soldier on the ground.
Where are those “courageous” hero reporters that want to
conscientiously ensure that the truth is told? What kind of person
other than those self interested could turn a blind eye to the real
truth? Have white Americans become that afraid to speak against
anything associated with ?
I have come to believe that 33 1/3% of Obama’s’ support comes from
liberal self interest groups. Another 33 1/3% comes from racism - and
no, it’s not just a white thing! meaning some blacks believe that
anything black is OK. The final 33 1/3% comes from white Americans who
have been brainwashed into believing that they cannot criticize
anything black. If they do they must be racist!
By the way, I have one more question that has never been addressed by
anyone. Why has Obama now come to be considered black? Wasn’t his
mother white? He is consistently called a black president. I don’t mind
the black part, does someone else mind the white part. I guess his ride
wouldn’t go as well if he were considered less black would it?
Finally the key to racial harmony one day will be that we all truly and
absolutely recognize that we are truly created equal and that someone
other than “whitey” is willing to call the kettle black!

It
does not surprise me that Johnston would not spend money on advertising
or advancement of tourism (but how are those sidewalks working out for
us?). I have often wondered how effective a business development
committee could possibly be if it is not funded, but, that is the least
of our problems. The town has several lots where there are posted signs
that state that the property is under the jurisdiction of the police
department and at any time of the day you will find crowds of people
standing around or sitting beside the buildings drinking alcohol and
nothing is ever done or worse than that standing in front of a sign
which states "No Loitering" right next to a liquor store and yet people
stand there all day long drinking and once again, nothing is done.
Don't bother wasting any money advertising for tourism because we
should be embarrassed to have anyone come here and see the lack of
dignity that walks around without consequences.
It is hard to even walk into some of the convenience stores without
having someone begging for money so they can go to the liquor store.
Most of the time, you can't even drive down the road without having
people walking down the middle of the street or just standing in the
middle of the street talking to someone who is usually a block away -
isn't that why we put those sidewalks in? Until the police can clean up
the streets we shouldn't waste any money drawing attention to the
disgrace in our town.

trying to limbo to the lowest approval rating ever. Even Bush has 86%
approval at the same time in office as Obama. It took him six years to
get to where Obama is now. Don't forget, when the Democrats took
over Congress, the approval rating for them dropped into single digits.
Yet these are the people that expect us to give up freedoms because
they know what is good for us?
Are they serious? Yes, they are. They are on the verge of telling
you what you have to do as soon as you are born. Buy insurance. Not
just any or some kind of insurance, but insurance "they" demand you
buy. You're too stupid to figure out what you need, so they will decide
that for you too.
56% of the people are against the plans, but Obama, Pelosi, and
Reid don't care. Medicare is already in the tank to the tune of over
$30 Trillion (with a T mind you) of unfunded mandates, and that is
their "model" so far?
And while I am on a roll, this whole "health care is a right" thing is
the dumbest claim I've ever heard. We have a Bill
of Rights, read them,
health care is not in there. A "Right" does not cost me anything. It is
free. But Obama and the Democrats want to impose a fee laid upon your
head at the time of birth in the form of insurance payments mandated by
the Federal Government?
At what point does a rational person turn irrational and see this as a
good thing? If the ignorance of the Democrat Party, some Republicans,

RE:
The comment that was made about "You just have to bash on President
Obama". "You just hate it because he is black."
I would like to respond. This is not a black or white issue. This is
about what he is doing to The United States of America. He is trying to
take way all our rights. He owns most of the news media, there is no
such thing as freedom of the press they can't question anything Obama
does or make a truthful commit. I hope you are very rich and can afford
health insurance because if you are not you are going to pay large
fines and/or go the prison for 5 years. He doesn't want to be the
President of the United States he wants to be a dictator. If we
continue to ignore what he is doing we will no longer have any rights,
we will no longer live in the land of the free that so many American
soldiers have fought and died for both black and white. I am not going
to sit back and say nothing and if all you can say is that we hate him
because he is black then you need to wake up and look at what is really
going on. If you really think about it he is not black or white, he is
both. His mother was white and father black and raised by his white
grandparents. His skin may be dark but that does not make him black.
There are a lot of dark skin people but that doesn't make them black.
Native American Indians have dark skin but they are not black. So let
this black and white issue go and lets just stick to the facts that he
has been a president for a year and he is not the best president we
have ever had unless you are only a year old and you do not have anyone
else to compare him to. I am 56 years old and I would say on a scale of
1-10 he is a 1. Because I haven't seen anything he has done that he
said he would. He has done just the opposite.

vaccine supplies; Georgia, over a week ago, released Flu vaccines to be

administration. I haven't personally checked other providers, but
there seems to be, and has been for some time, a reasonable supply

Why has South Carolina failed us, once again. No explanation, no
rationale, no communication. We can't get it and Georgia is
already providing it to non-government providers. I wonder how
many other states are this far ahead of us. South Carolina is, as
usual, at the back end of the wagon train, pushing the south-end of a

The
U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April ('08) that only
scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a
revised report (hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in
this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and
extreme eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:
The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe
Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on
foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it
at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable...
at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3
trillion.
'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see
their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.' says Terry Johnson, the
Montana Legislature's financial analyst.
'This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found
in the past 56 years' reports, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a
formation known as the Williston Basin, but is more commonly referred
to as the 'Bakken.' And it stretches from Northern Montana, through
North Dakota and into Canada. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been
considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching
for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological
breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now
have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light,
sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER
BARREL!
1. That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041
years straight.
2. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should
- because it's from TWO YEARS AGO!
They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders,
than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official
estimates:
8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
18-times as much oil as Iraq
21-times as much oil as Kuwait
22-times as much oil as Iran
500-times as much oil as Yemen
and it's all right here in the Western United States .
Editor's note: And the leftist Democrats will not allow us to drill our
own oil. They would rather us send our money to Islamic contries and
states that want to wipe us out.

As
Joe Wilson has said, YOU LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are many kinds of truth. Al Gore was hit by an inconvenient one
yesterday.
The former vice president, who became an unlikely figurehead for the
green movement after narrating the Oscar-winning documentary "An
Inconvenient Truth," became entangled in a new climate change row.
Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the
LATEST RESEARCH showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in
five years.
In his speech, Gore told the conference: "These figures are fresh. Some
of the models suggest to Dr. Wieslav Maslowski that there is a 75
percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer
months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years."
However, the climatologist whose work Gore was relying upon dropped the
former vice president in the water with an icy blast.
"It's unclear to me how this figure was arrived at," Dr. Maslowski
said. "I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as
this."
Gore's office later admitted that the 75 percent figure was one used by
Dr. Maslowski as a "ballpark figure" SEVERAL YEARS AGO in a
conversation with Gore.
The embarrassing error cast another shadow over the conference after
the controversy over the hacked e-mails from the University of East
Anglia's Climate Research Unit, which appeared to suggest that
scientists had manipulated data to strengthen their argument that human
activities were causing global warming.

note: The following is from an email, but worth sharing to readers on
the matter of celebrating Christmas.
Did you know that every DAY of the week, every PLANET in the universe,
and many of the CARS we drive are named after pagan gods? Yet, we still
call Sunday Sunday, Mars Mars, and a Saturn a Saturn. No one would ever
dream of calling us pagans for doing so. We worship our God on Sunday,
and would laugh at anyone who suggested that we observe the pagan Roman
holiday called “Sun’s Day” in doing so. If your car is a Saturn, use it
for the glory of God; and laugh at anyone who thinks that you are
worshipping the Roman god of agriculture by driving it. We must not,
and I trust do not, worship Christmas trees and lights. However, I do
suggest that we seize this opportunity afforded us by Divine providence
to tell people who Christ is, why he came into this world, what he did,
and how they may obtain his salvation. It is no accident that once
every year every human being in the world is confronted with the fact
that the Son of God assumed human flesh and came into the world to save
men. Certainly, no one can think that it is wrong for believers, during
this season of the year, to express thanks and praise to God for his
unspeakable gift, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is never wrong, but always
right to think of Him, speak of Him, and sing His praise. Merry
Christmas!

Here's
the answer to the Christmas tree guy! Question: "Should we have a
Christmas Tree? Does the Christmas Tree have its origin in ancient
pagan rituals?"
Answer: The modern custom of a Christmas tree does not come from any
form of paganism. There is no evidence of any pagan religion decorating
a special holiday tree for their mid-winter festivals, although the
Romans celebrated the winter solstice with a festival called Saturnalia
in honor of Saturnus, the god of agriculture. They decorated their
houses with greens and lights and exchanged gifts. Late in the Middle
Ages, Germans and Scandinavians placed evergreen trees inside their
homes or just outside their doors to show their hope in the forthcoming
spring. The first Christmas tree was decorated by Protestant Christians
in 16th-century Germany. Our modern Christmas tree evolved from these
early German traditions, and the custom most likely came to the United
States with Hessian troops during the American Revolution, or with
German immigrants to Pennsylvania and Ohio.
There is nothing in the Bible that either commands or prohibits
Christmas trees. It has been falsely claimed by some that Jeremiah
10:1-16 prohibits the cutting down and decorating of trees in the
same manner as we do at Christmas. However, even a cursory reading of
the text makes it clear that the passage is one in which Jeremiah sets
forth the prohibition against idols made of wood, plated with silver
and gold, and worshipped. A similar idea appears in Isaiah 44, where
Isaiah speaks of the silliness of the idol-worshippers who cut down a
tree, burn part of it in the fire to warm themselves, and use the other
part to fashion an idol, which they then bow down to. So unless we bow
down before our Christmas tree, carve it into an idol, and pray to it,
these passages cannot be applied to Christmas trees.
There is no spiritual significance to having or not having a Christmas
tree. Whatever choice we make, the motive behind a believer’s decision
about this, as in all matters of conscience, must be to please the
Lord. Romans
14:5-6a sets out the principle in a passage about liberty: “One man
considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every
day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who
regards one day as special, does so to the Lord.” The Lord is grieved
when Christians look down upon one another for either celebrating or
not celebrating Christmas. This is spiritual pride. When we feel that
somehow we have achieved a higher plain of spirituality by doing or not
doing something about which the Bible is silent, we misuse our freedom
in Christ, create divisions within His body, and thereby dishonor the
Lord. “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for
the glory of God” (1
Corinthians 10:31).
Editor's note: I will defer to the vast Biblical knowledge of the
writer.

Vote to Expose U.S. Troop Movements, Battle

The Free Flow of Information Act passed through the Senate Judiciary
Committee yesterday by a vote of 14-6, a measure that gives
unprecedented protections to media outlets that leak classified
information, like, say, the NSA's terrorist surveillance program
revealed by the New York Times or the CIA's secret terrorist jails
revealed by the Washington Post. It also for the first time
places some national security decisions under the purview of a federal
judge.Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), ranking Republican on the Senate
Judiciary Committee, again raised red flags about the so-called media
shield law, warning that Democrats voted down in committee amendments
specifically designed to protect our troops.
"As our troops prepare for a surge in Afghanistan, the majority blocked
an amendment to protect the secrecy of troop movements and battle
plans," Sessions said. "The rejection of these and other
amendments recklessly imperils the security of our citizens and our
soldiers, and leaves in place a bill that is deeply and fundamentally
flawed."
"This legislation will, for the first time in the history of our
country, give a federal court privilege to those involved in the
criminal leaking of classified information," Sessions warned. "It
is an unprecedented measure that will further hamstring the
government's ability to keep its most vital operations confidential --
even when the lives of innocent Americans are at stake."
Top security and intelligence experts oppose the measure, including
former Attorney General Mike Mukasey, Former CIA and NSA Director
General Michael Hayden, as well President Obama's own FBI Director and

civil war Abraham Lincoln said We here highly resolve that these dead
shall not have died in vain - that this nation under God shall have a

shal not perish from the earth.
Obama has compared himself to Abraham Lincoln, but it appears that he
is now treading on his grave and trying his best to destroy what he and
this nation fought for.
He is trying to trample out any exsistance of government for the people
and by the people. Instead he is trying to replace it for government of
the people period.
He is using his charismatic charm and wiles to fool us into thinking
that he is doing what is best for all by equalizing the playing field
and making the wealthy share it with the less fortunate. I believe you
should help your fellow man. That is always what we've done in the
past. We all rolled up our collective sleeves and did what was needed
to correct whatever was thrown our way. Every one did their job.
Today the government is wanting to create a welfare state, or rather a
welfare nation where every is standing in line for their "fair share".
Companies and the people are going to want to do less to try to build
their businesses if they are expected to be taxed out of a profit in
the name of welfare. Young people today are being conditioned not to
strive to do more to succeed. instead they are shown how to use the
system to get more for themselves by doing less to earn it.
I am not that old, only 58. I was taught that if you wanted something,
you worked for it. I was taught that if you wanted anything in this
world it was yours if you had the gumption and willingness to earn it.
Todays generation does not want to expend any more energy than
necessary in order to survive. Not that they are lazy, its because they
are offered a free ride.
I don't begrudge the wealthy if the earn it. The majority did it to
help themselves and created a lot of opportunities for others as well.
My hat is off to them. I do begrudge the lazy ones who make a living on
welfare programs that were intended to be used by people who were less
fortunate and honestly needed it.
Obama is very methodically destroying our free enterprise system of our
nation, and will soon bankrupt our nation to the point that we cannot
afford to defend ourselves much less help other nations on a world wide
scale.
Regan ended the cold war by bankrupting Russia. Who is orchestrating
what is going on in our country for Obama?
I honestly do not for the life of me understand when so many people see
what is going on and do nothing about it. I don't think that many
people out there are afraid to speak out. I just don't know amongst all
or our elected governors , congress and repersentatives has what it
takes to say enough is enough an stop what is going on today and fix
the problem.
You cannot borrow yourelf out of debt, and if this is Obamas plan then
we need someone else running our country. Someone who is not afraid to
ask his fellow countrymen and women for help.
We don't need another bail out that we will never be able to repay. We
do need the brains of this country to come together with a plan that
makes sense and is fair to all.

Your
Social Security
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some
older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you
don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your kids. They
need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't
matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts!!!
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security
(FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely
voluntary, It is no longer voluntary.
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the
first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the
Program, Now you pay 7.65% on the first $90,000 and if you
don't make $90,000 per year, you don't pay the maximum into the
system, so guess what? You don't get the maximum benefit when you
are 65 years old.
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the
Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes
each year, No longer tax deductible
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent
'Trust Fund' rather than into the General operating fund, and
therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program and no other Government program. Under Johnson the
money was moved to the General Fund and spent.
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never
be taxed as income. Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of
your Social Security can be taxed.
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving
a Social Security check every month -- And then finding
that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the
Federal government to 'put away -- you may be interested in
the following:
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent
'Trust Fund' and put it into the
General fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically controlled House
and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for
Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security
annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking'
deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President
of the US.
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity
payments to immigrants?
A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic
Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age
65, began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they
never paid a dime into it!
Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats
turn around and tell you that the
Republicans want to take your Social Security away! Now
who's BSing who? And the worst part about it is uninformed
citizens believe it!
If enough people read this, maybe a seed of awareness will be
planted and maybe changes will
evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn't so.
But it's worth a try.
A government big enough to give you everything you want, is
strong enough to take everything you have. -Thomas
Jefferson

The fine on the uninsured of 2.5 percent of their income if they

The low level of subsidy available for the uninsured (ONLY after

The possibility of up to five years in prison for failing to buy

well, at least those of us who can't afford to purchase health

RE
Question: "Do some Christmas traditions have pagan origins?"
Answer: There is no doubt that some of what we now refer to as
Christmas traditions can be traced back, in some form, to pagan
cultures and celebrations. The ringing of bells, for example, is
generally thought to have had its origin in the early pagan winter
celebration of ringing of bells to drive out evil spirits. In later
centuries, bells were rung on Christmas Eve to welcome in the spirit of
Christmas with joyful noise (Psalm 95:1).
When Christians enjoy the beauty of a glorious bell choir ringing
Christmas carols, we are reminded of the coming of Jesus into the
world, not the driving out of evil spirits.
Similarly, there was an early pagan tradition of lighting candles to
drive away the forces of cold and darkness. However, is it likely that
our hearts are drawn to those early pagans rather than rejoicing in our
Savior, the Light of the World (John 1:4-9)
as we light candles? Of course not. Nor is it likely that when I give
gifts to my loved ones at Christmas, the gifts will have less
significance to either of us because some Druid somewhere in time
offered a gift to his goat as part of some pagan ritual. No, we
remember, as we should, the gifts given to the Christ-child by the Magi
(Matthew
2:11). Jesus was the greatest gift ever given, and therefore His
birth is worthy of celebration.
So obscure are the beginnings of many Christmas traditions that
reference books and internet sites contradict one another on the
details. Some of our most popular and beloved Christmas symbols are
entirely Christian, and were never part of any pagan religion anywhere.
At the same time, some Christmas traditions undoubtedly do have their
origins in the pagan past. What is important is not the origins of
traditions, but their significance to us today as believers in the Son
of God. December 25 was not mentioned in the biblical narrative as the
day Jesus was born, and, as such, we cannot be dogmatic about it one
way or the other. But even if the date is completely wrong, there is
still the opportunity for thousands of people who wouldn’t go to church
any other time of the year to go on Christmas day and hear the gospel
of Christ.
If you are fully convinced that you cannot, in good conscience, observe
a particular Christmas tradition, do not observe it. If you are fully
convinced that a particular tradition is too steeped in paganism to
honor God in any way, by all means forsake that tradition. At the same
time, if you are fully convinced that you can honor and worship God
through a particular tradition, honor and worship God (Romans 14:5)!
For Christians, Christmas traditions can be an important part of the
celebration of the birth of our Savior, and they remind us of that
momentous event that changed the world forever. More importantly, they
bring to mind the miracle of new birth He created in us when He came
into our hearts, saved us from our sins, and made us children of God by
the shedding of His blood on the Cross (Colossians
1:20). It is this amazing truth that enables us to say with the
angels, “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will
toward men” (Luke
2:14).

Here
we are nearing the Christmas season. The Christ Child is a symbol
of love, life, hope and peace that makes this such a joyful season for
TRUE BELIEVERS. Not so for some members of Mt. Canaan Church. It
seems most members of this House of Worship have an agenda for hate,
discontent and revenge even at this most Holy season. Contrary to
the order issued by Judge R. Knox McMahon on October 12, 2009,
Tuesday night at a call meeting a majority of the members present voted
to oust four members and their spouses from the chruch.
Apparently, Rev. Brightharp could not be present atthe called meeting
but "no worries", if the Rev. can't do it the Pope can! The Rev. Alex
Pope that is.
These four ousted members (spouses included) were told that they will
not be considered for membership for a minimum of three years.
After three years, according to a motion made by a woman (not
necessarily working for the Lord) they must make a confession and
repent to the church, Rev. Brightharp, the Pope or whoever is on the
pulpit at that time. If they grovel enough they might be
reinstated as members. However, they will never be allowed to
hold office. Robert Mullins, attorney for the church, told the
congregation that they do not have to abide by Judge McMahon's court
order and they quickly took advantage of his obvious lack of respect
for the law. Have you ever heard of such a travesty especially in
a church. To the four excommunicated members and their spouses,
rest assured there is a power higher than any of those who rise against
you and know that he has you in his hands and them in his sights.
Take your love of Christ and your tithing to a real church with a
Pastor who is not self serving but serves God.

are just some of the provisions of the health care bill which Nancy
Pelosi and her gang of vote buyers in the house voted for.
notably:
1. The $400 billion cut in Medicare
2. The inevitable scarcity that will result from the addition of
35 million new patients with no new doctors or nurses
3. The fine on the uninsured of 2.5 percent of their income if
they don't buy insurance
4. The high cost of these mandatory insurance policies ($15,000
per family)
5. The low level of subsidy available for the uninsured (ONLY
after they pay 8-12 percent of their incomes)
6. The likelihood of a $1,700 increase in the average family's
premiums
7. The possibility of up to five years in prison for failing to
buy insurance or pay the fine
8. The taxation of medical devices like pacemakers, wheelchairs,
prosthetic limbs, hearing aids, etc.
9. The tax on sick people (increasing the threshold for deducting
medical expenses from 7.5 percent to 10 percent of income.
10. The additional fiscal burden on the states of the increase in
Medicaid eligibility
11. The 40 percent tax on health insurance premiums that will affect
households earning more than $75,000 by the fifth year of the plan.
Of course they use our tax dollars to purchase votes with.

BAD, they (Thurmond) only had 9 players now do the math they had 15
players on the team last year only 2 seniors that went onto other
things and that should leave you with 13 coming back well that's not
true, only 8 came back where are the players at because they could have
used them last night she only wanted to play the only ones she liked.
She ran those poor kids to death one of the kids took her self out of
the game because her and the coach had a few words. If you were at the
game you would have seen them playing like they needed a break but she
said no get out there, that not a good thing to do when you only going
to play 6 of the 9 players. The thing that bothered me the most was the
way she talked the young ladies on the team and that's what they are
not machines if you treat people right they will work for you. Have any
body said anything to the coach about where are the other players at NO
but i have talked to some parents and they said she treated the kids

days indicated. People on SS are losing buying power daily, but
they don't need a raise, according to the elected imbeciles in

They are much to good to be placed in the same system with common

that defy logic. I don't know how you cope with ignorance unless voters
are required to pass an IQ test, or at least a quiz on current events
before being allowed to vote. And oh yeah, those that receive SS
benefits must pay income tax on that pittance. You can thank Al

The Republican Party is different. Tom Delay was an exterminator. Dick
Armey was an economist.
First, Dick Cheney didn't become a businessman until he got out of
government after Desert Storm. He became CEO of Halliburton and used
his political influence (along with kickbacks and bribes) to secure
gov't contracts from the very same people he worked with in gov't (same
as lobbying, but got paid millions for it). He started working in gov't
in 1969 after taking 6 years to graduate college and after 5 deferments
from the draft. In 1989, The Washington Post writer George C. Wilson
interviewed Cheney as the next Secretary of Defense; when asked about
his deferments, Cheney reportedly said, "I had other priorities in the
'60s than military service". Cheney was a businessman man until he had
enough clout to become a lobbyist for gov't contracts for Halliburton.
Second, Tom Delay is awaiting an indictment for money laundering and if
he wasn't guilty, why did he resign from the Congress.
Third, Dick Armey is suing the federal gov't to get out of paying
Medicare premiums; while, he is leading the protests of the Tea Baggers
to make sure that Medicare cuts do not take place. Why is he suing so
he doesn't have to pay and then protesting cuts to Medicare.

there are people just standing next to the car and around it with there

thing that EMT's can not stand is people just standing around getting

you to help or get something for us we appreciate if you do, if you
give us some stupid reason why you cant help then you need to leave the
scene. In the fourth picture there is a patient on the ground with only
on person treating them and three people standing around watching the
other two bring the stretcher up tell me whats wrong with that picture?
EMS is thankful to have the fire department to work along side with but
neither service needs extra first responders or whoever standing around
not helping
Editor's note: There were five persons being treated by teams of three
to four people each (15 to 20 emergency personnel). As each person was
immobilized and placed in the ambulances, First Responders would go to
the other teams to offer any aid needed. No photos were taken until at
least three of the injured were already in ambulances. The last picture

The
Democratic Party has become the Lawyers' Party.
Barack Obama is a lawyer.
Michelle Obama is a lawyer.
Hillary Clinton is a lawyer.
Bill Clinton is a lawyer.
John Edwards is a lawyer.
Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer.
Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although
Gore did not graduate).
Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for
Lloyd Bentsen, went to law school.
Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress:
Harry Reid is a lawyer.
Nancy Pelosi is a lawyer.
The Republican Party is different.
President Bush is a businessman.
Vice President Cheney is a businessman.
The leaders of the Republican Revolution:
Newt Gingrich was a history professor.
Tom Delay was an exterminator.
Dick Armey was an economist.
House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer.
The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.
Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer?
Gerald Ford, who left office 31 years ago and who barely won the
Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald
Reagan in 1976. The Republican Party is made up of real people
doing real work, who are often the targets of lawyers.
The Democrat Party is made up of lawyers. Democrats mock
and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the
sick, like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history, like Gingrich.
The Lawyers' Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods
and services that people want, as the enemies of America. And, so
we have seen the procession of official enemies, in the eyes of the
Lawyers' Party, grow.
Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail? Pharmaceutical
companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food
restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers, and anyone
producing anything of value in our nation.
This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through
the eyes of lawyers. Lawyers solve problems by successfully
representing their clients, in this case the American people.
Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they
press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse
language to favor their side.
Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine. But
it is an awful way to govern a great nation. When politicians as
lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as
opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes
all-consuming. Some Americans become "adverse parties" of our
very government. We are not all litigants in some vast social
class-action suit. We are citizens of a republic that promises us
a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.
We cannot expect the Lawyers' Party to provide real change, real
reform or real hope in America Most Americans know that a
republic in which every major government action must be blessed by nine
unelected judges is not what Washington intended in 1789. Most
Americans grasp that we
cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at the heels of our
defenders. Most Americans intuit that more lawyers and judges
will not restore declining moral values or spark the spirit of
enterprise in our
economy.
Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought
to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American
society and business. Perhaps Americans will see that hope does
not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished
by hard work.
Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more
power will only make our problems worse..
The United States has 5% of the world's population and 66% of
the world's lawyers! Tort (Legal) reform legislation has been
introduced in congress several times in the last several years to limit
punitive damages in ridiculous lawsuits such as "spilling hot coffee on
yourself and suing the establishment that sold it to you" and also to
limit punitive damages in huge medical malpractice lawsuits. This
legislation has continually been blocked from even being voted on by
the Democrat
Party. When you see that 97% of the political contributions from the
American Trial Lawyers Association goes to the Democrat Party, then you
realize who is responsible for our medical and product costs being so
high!

stimulus money? How does it work anyway? Do u have to bring your own

Editor's note: I would assume it works the same as the ones in

Twas
the night before the Carolina/Clemson game…and all through the South
the Tigers were winning and running their mouth.
Spiller was nestled all snug in his bed while visions of Heisman danced
in his head.
He dreamed Dabo was smiling and Spurrier throwing his cap, but it was
only a dream, and he would soon awaken from his nap.
Now down at Williams-Brice there arose such a call, hey there Clemson
this is SEC Football.
He started off great and flew like a flash, he ran to the end zone;
what a great dash.
The Gamecocks were nervous at the sight below but we hoped for a fight
and for a good show.
All of a sudden, the Tigers fought and they clawed and they whined but
it was never enough since they were always behind.
Spurrier just laughed as his team kicked Tiger tail and we could see
that poor Dabo just wanted to wail.
More rapid than eagles, Garcia’s henchmen they came, and he whistled
and shouted and called them by name;
Now Jeffrey, now Gilmore now Auguste and Miles! On Norwood on Culliver
on Lanning and Giles!
To the end zone let’s fly, let’s hold them back, let’s kick afar… let’s
show them what’s up, let’s set the bar!
As done in ’06 the Tigers stood shocked, but the Gamecocks just cheered
and knew it was locked.
So down on the field the fans all ran fast, the poor Tigers, their
tears just flooded the grass.
The Gamecocks had won as we all knew they would do, now the Tigers
believe it and Dabo does too.
This story’s not over, there are still games to play. The Tigers to
Tampa on a December Day.
They will meet with Georgia Tech and fight for the title, too bad the
ACC can’t compete with their SEC rival.
So from Spurriers lips to Swinney’s sad ears… Let’s Go GAMECOCKS!! Good
Luck Dabo, Maybe Next Year!!

many buildings in Iraq that US soliders live. At least 12 have died
from being electrocuted while taking showers in these facilities that
contain this shoddy electrical work, and even more have been injured
from fires that were caused by electrical fires in other facilities

He secured the NO-Bid contracts that Halliburton/KBR received when the

announcement of “Obama Stimulus” money in order to “stimulate” the

the past few days we received phone calls that I would guarantee
are scams. First phone call was from a foreign speaking person
stating he just arrived in the states and was at the airport. He
said he had several million dollars (US dollars) with him and he wanted
to make me his beneficiary. I laughed, told him he would have to
find someone else to scam and hung up. Two minutes later he
called again and stated the same thing but began by saying someone told
him I was a good person and would handle this for him. He wanted
my e-mail address. I responded by hanging up. Second
incident was today. This morning the same thing happened with a
different approach. Foreign speaking person asking to talk
with my husband (called him by name) I told him my husband was
not available.. He wanted to know when he would be home so he
could call back. I asked him who he was, where he was calling
from and what he wanted. Reluctantly he gave me a name (I could
not understand) and said he was calling from the bank. I asked
what bank and he said something about the world bank in London.
He then asked for my husband by name again and asked to speak with
him. I told him he could not speak with him and hung up.
Again this evening he called again asked to speak with my husband who
answered the phone and gave him the same speil. I called the
phone company and was told I needed to report this to my local
authorities. I'm sure Sheriff Dobey has nothing better to
do than track these calls. I am choosing to inform everyone about
this situation. While we responded appropriately others may be
caught off guard. Please be sure you do not give out any
information to anyone you do not know. If you have elderly
parents or young children, warn them.
Editor's note: You should still contact the Sheriff's Office and
provide them with the information and the phone numbers if you have

Dorn wants a bathroom NOW. How many people are going to
benefit from the taxpayers spending at least $17,000 for the septic

Do they have a plan for this park beyond the need to get
something for nothing? Concession money not accounted for?
The taxpayers are paying for the concession stand and all the
improvements at these parks why shouldn't we expect the funds to be
accounted for. Simple, when food and supplies are purchased get a
receipt (can still be done by the same people). When food is sold
put the money in a specific account then you use that money for more
food and supplies or other recreation needs. That is how
accounting works. The only difference is that you are holding
someone accountable and being above board with the funds.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you
realize you're wrong.

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty

away?
16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not
seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not
to answer when they call.
18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or
Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than with Kay.
