Flood Warning issued for the county Edgefielddaily.com web posted June 3, 2005 The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Edgefield County through the next two days. Heavy rains have saturated the ground and water levels in area creeks and rivers have continued to rise.  With forecasts holding more rain for the area the water
levels will
continue to rise and flooding is likely in some areas. Big Steven’s
Creek had already breeched its banks Thursday and continues to rise at
this writing. Large trees dislodged by the high waters have caused log
jams blocking passage to some parts of the creek.Officials at the weather service said the area has received four to six inches of rain this week and could see as much as one to two inches before clearing skies return Saturday.  Return to Main Page
