W. E. Parker is Winning School in United Way Fund Drive

web posted November 17, 2009
EDGEFIELD – The United Way of Edgefield County Campaign Chairman Dean Campbell presented a $500 check to W.E. Parker Elementary School Principal Gaye Holmes at the Nov. 10 Edgefield County School District Board meeting. The $500 award can be used by the school to benefit students.

The funds were made available through the local United Way and provided this grant as an incentive to schools to raise money for the local United Way, and W.E. Parker led the way with the most per capita giving.

All schools that participated in the district raised $2,100 for the local United Way. Edgefield County citizens are encouraged to give to the United Way before the December 1 deadline (P.O. Box 72, Edgefield). This year’s goal is $80,000.
