Man escapes serious injury in violent crash web posted February 22, 2007 A passerby stopped and took the young man to the nearby fire station and was later transported by a personal vehicle to an area hospital for treatment. The 18 year old Georgia Road man was said to have suffered a punctured lung and possible rib fractures. The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated the crash and the driver will face a charge of too fast for conditions. The young man was said to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. In the first two months of 2007 in South Carolina there have been 101 fatalities as a result of collisions through February 20, of those 61 were not wearing a seat belt. In 2006 there were 105 traffic deaths for the year. Two other minor crashes were reported Wednesday in addition to an early morning car fire in Johnston.
