Another stolen Mercedes Benz found in Edgefield County
web
posted September 26, 2008
WESTSIDE – It seems Edgefield County is
fast becoming the dumping ground of stolen Mercedes Benz’s out of
Georgia with the discovery of a second car found on the 3300 block of
Martintown Road on Wednesday. A $70,000 Mercedes was found destroyed
by
fire earlier in the week off Murrah Road on Monday that resulted in
about three acres of the landscape being consumed in the resulting fire.
Property owners called the Sheriff’s Office to report a suspicious car
found at the edge of a wood line on the 3300 black of Martintown Road.
When deputies arrived they found the burgundy 1999 Mercedes Benz with
all the windows broken out and deserted.
Police reports did not indicate there were any attempts to burn the car.
The car was identified and had been reported as stolen from Norcross
Georgia, not far from where the previous Mercedes was reported stolen.
The two cases are currently under investigation and it is unknown at
this time if they are related.
