Cold Springs Road Home Targeted for Burglary

web posted November 6, 2012

WESTSIDE – A Cold Springs Road man arrived at the family home after getting off work Friday afternoon to find the window to a side door broken out and called the Sheriff's Office to report the burglary. Stolen from the home during the day totaled nearly $10,000 in guns, jewelry and cash.

According to an incident report released on Monday, investigators processed the scene for evidence including photographs and fingerprinting. The owner stated the couple left their home around 7 am and returned just before 5 pm Friday.

Among the stolen items were a Remington 1100 12 gauge shotgun, a 20 gauge 870 Youth Express shotgun, a Ruger 1022, a Marlin 30-30, a H&R .410 shotgun, a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver, a custom Masonic ring, a 14K white gold bracelet and approximately 50 silver eagle coins.

Also stolen was two pair of shoes, size 10 1/2 and a "piggy bank" containing around $75.

No additional information was provided. It is unknown if the owner was able to provide serial numbers for the weapons.

The total value of the items stolen was estimated at $9,875.
